Biden closes his speech with: "Go get 'em". Leads to believe we have troops in country, supporting the Ukrainians (as opposed to the Iranians). I am guessing it was a mistake by our fearless leader.

Ok, found it. Blogger wasn't letting me navigate to older posts so I had to reboot my phone.

@Greg, from another thread, sorry abut following up here:

Greg, my man, calm down. You guessed wrong about yours truly.

"Yes, they should keep on fighting, and killing Russians, and destroying Russia supplies, and doing whatever they have to do, for as long as it takes, until they get their country back, and kick out the vile, evil Russian invaders"

I totally agree with the sentiment -- but: how long is as long as it takes, can they get their country back, and is fighting the way to kick out the Russian invaders. If it would take forever, and if there is no realistic chance of getting their country back by military means in the short run, and if they cannot kick out the vile invaders but will instead be crushed, are the costs of resistance worth it to them? All of that depends on judgment on the ground, and of course I am not making that judgment for them. But that judgment should be based on realism, including realism about the greatly increased costs of resistance, not illusions. If they are prepared to fight to the death, I will respect that, of course--but is that best for them?

More required infant vaccines [not covid] = higher national infant mortality, almost linearly. USA leads in both.

Using linear regression, the immunization schedules of these 34 [civilized] nations were examined and a correlation coefficient of r = 0.70 (p < 0.0001) was found between IMRs [Infant Mortality Rates] and the number of vaccine doses routinely given to infants.

"Nations were also grouped into five different vaccine dose ranges: 12–14, 15–17, 18–20, 21–23, and 24–26. The mean IMRs of all nations within each group were then calculated. Linear regression analysis of unweighted mean IMRs showed a high statistically significant correlation between increasing number of vaccine doses and increasing infant mortality rates, with r = 0.992 (p = 0.0009)."

But then the numbers get more complicated...

I've enjoyed the slow thaw. Very glad that the ice has been removed from all the sidewalks now. I took one particularly nasty fall this winter. Nothing broke, just complete soreness for a week.

I continue to see articles calling the Russian invasion the worst European conflict since WW2. Apparently these journalists and their editors are too young to remember the Yugoslav wars. Our maybe they've just never heard of Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia or even Macedonia. Over one hundred thousand people died in those conflicts.

I'm REALLY stunned by the lack of Russian resolve. I truly thought it was going to be over quickly without much resistance.

Now, I'm hearing reports that armored Russian equipment are running out of fuel on their way into Ukraine.

I'm also hearing that they haven't enough munitions to continue aerial bombing. The Potemkin Air Force.

Yes, I don't trust these stories from the media, but these are logistical issues that should have been in the field manuals. I think the lack of Russian progress reflects their poor logistical training, and adds credibility to the reports.

A European official confirms to @GillianHTurner that the Chinese Government asked Putin to delay the invasion of Ukraine and Putin complied. Both the UK and US have seen the intelligence underlying this reporting, she is told.

The smartest thing Joe Biden has done was naming Kamala Harris as his VP.

It ensured that every American would pray incessantly (Thessalonians 5:17) that moribund Joe wakes up every morning, at least until his term is up Jan 20th 2025.

I took my wife to the airport in plenty of time for her to present her docs and story to the airline agent, who was able to explain to her that he could do nothing until she had filled out two EU forms online.

She has a nice smartphone with which she can do many fun and creative things, but she has bypassed some basic knowledge along the way and if the guy hadn't been very patient and helpful she would have been lost.

There was no crowd so we sat down and I helped her do it. I hate the small screen but was able to keep her on track. The site isn't all that clear but it didn't ask for anything arcane and eventually, after many rabbit holes and wipeouts, we got the proper QR code.

The other piece was the declaration that you don't have any Covid symptoms. She could not accomplish that there, but was allowed to board the flight to ATL, which is a REAL international airport. They will have the forms and staff there that a real one should.

Ours just had the first big new construction since it debuted to major prizes and acclaim.
It really was something, but it has shown its age for a long time already, and a whole new
concourse has just opened. There has been a lot of rah-rah about it, but we didn't expect much . . . The ticketing and security are the same old post-9/11 array at the same old location, so I saw nothing of the new facility.

She texted before boarding that it was spectacular. Huh. She's usually a snob about that stuff.

On the way to and from the airport on Airways you pass the FedEx hub. There must have been scores of the identical big planes being serviced. A country could have a pretty nice airforce with the amount of money they cost.

Biden blames Putin’s Ukraine war on Capitol riot

'...Biden abruptly invoked the storming of the US Capitol and claimed rioters killed five cops — only true if counting four subsequent suicides and one cop who died of a stroke — as he concluded his remarks on infrastructure at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

“Vladimir Putin was counting on being able to split up the United States. Look, how would you feel if you saw crowds storm and break down the doors of the British Parliament and kill five cops, injure 145 — or the German Bundestag or the Italian Parliament?” Biden said.'

https://nypost.com/2022/03/02/biden-blames-putins-ukraine-war-on-capitol-riot-as-gop-cites-afghanistan-cut-run/

Biden was obviously confused because he either didn't have his nap or wasn't reading off a teleprompter. Or both.

Pretty much, the ENTIRE Army Column broke down; Hitler was PISSED! Vowed to do it Right the next time
And, They did

Do you wake up every morning thinking about Donald Trump? Because I sure don't. He made one ill advised comment after basically calling out before it happened a great deal of the stuff that has gone wrong to make this whole war happen and then go sideways, but "stupid is as stupid does," and the man who has done the most stupid things re Ukraine is Joe Biden, with a dishonorable mention to Barrack Obama.

wendybar said...

Joe said "Go get him" because he either read it on the teleprompter, or he heard it in his earpiece. It was his people talking about HIM. He just repeated it. Like that other time when he read "end of quote" when reading the teleprompter about high gas prices in 2021.

Colonel Douglas MacGregor had the best overview take on the Rooskie invasion a few days ago on Tucker. The Russians have slowed for a reason. Give the Ukrainians (or Iranians, I get confused) an opportunity to surrender by hitting mostly non-civilian targets. Now all bets are off. It's time to level the cities.
