At the Rainy Day Café...

... you can talk about whatever you want.

No sunrise run this morning. Too rainy! But, here, I'll give you this oddball extra from yesterday:

This is one of the ’Star Trek’ spinoffs.

Definitive proof that salads and gyms don’t exist in the future.

John Nolte on Breitbart analyzes Chris Cuomo's lawsuit against CNN and concludes that Chris Cuomo is asserting that CNN had no right to fire him for violating its journalistic standards because CNN had no journalistic standards to violate and thus, though Chris acknowledges the behavior he is accused of, he asserts he cannot be fired by CNN for that behavior. Cuomo thus is entitled to as much money as he would have made had he been left among his peers, all together freely violating the journalistic standards of other groups but not those of CNN. That amount would be $125 million dollars. Quite the argument.
Could Joe Biden deploy a similar argument against a Senate impeaching him for accepting bribes from foreign countries?

70-degrees and sunny in Center Mass today. Glorious.

I went to buy whisky today...my wife likes it as a special treat.

Since we don't drink it every day I get the good stuff (if I can find it), 12yo Irish whisky that, a month ago, cost $50 give or take.

Today? $72. What???

In two years the Dems have succeeded in crushing the middle and lower classes.

Don't weep for me, I'll be fine. I hate it but I can afford it.

But I grew up relatively poor, and I can't imagine what this is doing to families that work hard and take home $60k or so.

Fucking disaster. Congrats all you libs who voted for this crap.

And if I hear you say, 'But Ukraine! Putin tax!' I will reply, 'Fuck you sideways.'

Joe Smith said...

Billions of dollars to Ukraine?

Did I miss the part where the Senate ratified some sort of treaty with them?

If AA posts my first missive, you will see that we in the U.S. are getting hammered with inflation, and hard-working families are really suffering.

There is zero reason to send them anything, let alone billions of U.S. taxpayers' dollars.

I love these photos. I look forward to them. Even the same scene, day after day, always has something unique to offer. Sometimes the differences are very subtle, but nothing is repeated, nothing can be repeated.

So the comments to that JD Vance post are something.

Once upon a time, people prided themselves that this commenter community was the best and brightest, but truly this place has become a cesspool.

I really have lost all respect for 95 percent of you.

When I tried to tell my dad that my brother did it too, that somehow didn’t stop the consequence I had to bear. What did these Cuomo kids learn when they were growing up?

Hmmmm.... If we're going to get a single, borderless government over the entire Earth, someone is going to have to invade a lot of places. Including Ukraine. And win.

So what does it say, that when all the invading is over, the winner is a fat, Black Hellsow?

There's a reason they call her "Tank". Hell, there's probably about three hundred reasons.

Tyreese Hunter plays for Iowa State. Last year the team won two games. He’s an orphan. His older brother took care of him. He just hit seven three point shots. Iowa State defeated the higher seeded LSU. Hunter scored more than a third of Iowa State’s points.

Oh, I love it so.

Davidson is a tiny private school in the South. Its long time head coach is Bob McKillop. White shirt, suit and tie.

Michigan State is a giant Big Ten school. Its long time head coach is Tom Izzo. HOF coach and NCAA champion. No tie.

Davidson down one at half.

Oh, I do love it so. Nothing else like it in the world.

I don’t know much about JD Vance, but I did make it through a very tough Hillbilly Elegy.
I didn’t piece together it was his true story. G*d bless him. I’d vote for him.

As for the comments: it’s a free country.

So far.

I buy limes for my beer. They're usually 15 cents each, today they are 50 cents. I blame Putin.

After they counted the votes in the 2020 election
After Hunter's laptop, appearing, disappearing and reappearing
After Hillary reappearing like The Ghost Who Walks every time there's a crisis
After Covid, appearing, ruining the country and disappearing, so strangely just as the Ukraine appeared
After Hollywood hating white men except Fauci and after Fauci disappearing and after Hollywood loving Zelensky
After Russia hiring Chechen Moslems to save the Ukraine for Christianity because the Red Army has disappeared
During Biden, during the new normal
While climatistas worked to create a famine, before the famine appeared

Is it a surprise that commenters are in turmoil?

Is it an intelligent design of darkness? Is it chance and theft? Is it the sick conscience of the news? Will I outlive CNN? see it come, see it go? While the country just goes on like snowdrops coming up through snow?

If you wake up in the morning and the the first person you come across is an idiot, he's an idiot. If an the end of the day, every person you interact with is an idiot, you may want to look in the mirror. (95% is within the margin of error.)

You mean comments like this one, Bender, that outright admits that Ukrainian lives are without value? It is disappointing.

"How is Ukraine a foreign policy mistake? For the cost of a few weapons, we are bleeding Russia and kneecapping Putin's dream of recreating the Russian empire. Seems like a good realpolitik move to me."

I am not the one cheering on this war, so don't accuse me of not caring about Ukrainians. It does have nothing to do with us, as in the American people. The same war floggers who have been lying about Trump and Russia for years were behind the violent coup in Ukraine and sent the letter to Ukraine this past November paving their way into Nato. Both of these actions were big steps into this hell that the Ukrainians are in right now.

Unlike with gadfly, you could shut me up by proving I am wrong.
