Comments in the NY Schools Vegan Friday posting this AM got me wondering. Do vegetarians eat chicken? Turns out, some do. There is yr pollo-vegetarians, yr pesco-vegetarians, and what not.

What most are wanting to avoid is red meat.

Well, I understand that. My own rule - and I am very strict about it - is I will not eat green meat.

I’m rewatching Derek.
I also finished The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. I did like it- but, she puts her characters through a lot of shit. Too much, if u ask me.

Stormy prevails over Avenatti.

Two sleazeballs. Sorta a mild version of Alien v. Predator

I know you don't like the "blog about this" posts, but I given how Playboy has come up on this blog at times over the years, I'm curious to hear your thoughts about the mini-series documentary that is on A&E about the history of Playboy. I don't have A&E, so I'm not watching it, but I've had two very different sources post about it in the last week bringing it to my attention.

One is an article in a local paper

The other is a post that a friend linked to on Facebook (thus I am barely connecting to a theme of the day)

I watched ABC's Olympic coverage for about 45 minutes. If it wasn't the most boring show I have ever seen, it certainly was a contender.

it is interesting that poor Neil Young and Joni Mitchell are basically John Birchers now, wanting to ban subversive books.

GoFundMe is about to discover the cost of listening to Justin Trudeau. They caved to his request to divert the $10 million headed the truckers’ way and now those who contributed have discovered the “charge back” feature of credit cards where you forced the merchant (GoFundMe in this case) to spend $15 beyond the mere refund for processing.

Fighting fire with fire. About time.

So there was this Dr. Who episode a few years ago, before the Doctor was transgender, where they revealed that the moon is actually an egg.

It was at that point, after several years of increasing stupidity - not to mention complete discontinuity with the years where it was good - that I finally said "no more" to that show.

I'm guessing that that is the big surprise reveal at the end of the new movie Moonfall. If that ends up being a spoiler, too damn bad.

following up on my earlier comment, I knew even when I was very young that the beatniks, qua beatniks, were basically the same as the Birchers, qua Birchers, but i really did not expect to live long enough to see poor Neil Young and Joni Mitchell give in so easily and embarrass themselves by out-Nixoning their version of Nixon by calling for the burning of books ..... Sad!

Coward. Real men scrap the green off, sprinkle some pepper on it, and fry it up: like the old days

If you were watching the Olympics on ABC, you would have been watching a rerun of 1976.

exposure of her penis. [my emphasis]

@Bender, we live in strange times, that you could type those words and it actually makes sense.

@Gahrie, and now you know why real men — manly men — are a vanishing breed.

Being in New Mexico I have found out that Ben Lujan is part of a political dynasty. He isn't likely to roll over and quit his position simply because the Dems in DC are making a mess of things and have political needs in the moment.

It was reported the University of Penn swimmer was holding his breath in the locker room, so it was all good.

Canada is willing to do anything to defuse the Ottowa Truckfest, from stealing their money, to, it looks like, preparing to seize their trucks, running ops against them by planting Nazi and Confederate flags in the crowd, carriers of which get roundly heckled, of course. Castro's son is willing to do anything but meet with them and discuss their concerns, because Trudeau doesn't negotiate with terrorists.

My grandfather was a butcher and I once asked about this. He said he thought a little bit of ‘color’ was great and was happy to feed the family with it. I wondered if it was a case of eating the stuff he would have to throw away or he discovered the benefits of dry aging.

Maybe a bit of both…

A southern lady from Athens told me last night “I will gratuitise you via the app”. I looked up “gratuitise” and it appears to be a French conjugation.

Peak Olympics were when Howard Cosell did color commentary. I will go back to my rocking chair now, the latest issue of "Nostalgia Today" just landed on the porch.

Adm Rachel Levine, the trans head of the US Public Health Service, and Gen Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, reportedly played football together in high school at Belmont Hill High in Massachusetts. Milley graduated in 1976, whereas Levine, who was originally known as Richard, graduated in 1975. It's remarkable how one high school manages to count as alumnae two four star dickless wonders.
