Jordan Peterson and Warren Farrell on the Boy Crisis. Anything else I could say wouldn’t be adequate, but this Dr Farrell is a compassionate, researched advocate via word and text.
Why would anyone argue against: "Strong, healthy, fulfilled men are more likely to treat women well."? Of course, how many of us are all of those things at all times?
About that NYT "puff" piece. A friend of mine, who used to play junior varsity basketball, tells the story of another player in the squad who one day approached the coach and says proudly that 'the team they are playing next are "cream puffs"'. Despite being one of their best players, my friend says, the coach benched the boasting player, and they ended up just barely beating the so called "cream puff" team.
Something very odd with U*ber. I got a newer vehicle and I thought let me drive U*ber for a week and see if I can do better with them. I had started with U*ber, about 3 years ago. So, I put in all the paperwork via the app, temp plates (no problem they tell me) temp insurance card and of course my Georgia DL. When I first sign up with them, I was in NJ, so I updated that. A day later their response comes back that my vehicle is not eligible to drive in Atlanta. That's odd I thought, I've seen older than 2019 vehicles with the U*ber sticker all over Georgia. I go on the internet and ask what are the U*ber eligible vehicles for Atlanta. Sure enough, the list includes Dodge Grand Caravan 2006 or newer. Mine is 2019. There's got to be something I'm not privy to.
I want to speak up for local hospitals facing the omicron spike as Covid declines in NYC. Covid may be declining in NYC but it will be spiking in other communities. I believe communities can track these omicron spikes and then make special efforts to help their local hospital. You see, a few days before there's a spike in hospital admissions there will be a spike in cases. There's a few days to get ready. Hospitals need extra supplies for the spike. This is hard for them with supply chain issues, so, they need extra help on supplies. There will be extra work and at the same time hospital workers may themselves be off with Covid and then, most important, these same people are facing a lot deaths in a short period. We are not to think that there may be treatments that would lessen these impacts. In the real world controlled by Fauci's expertise, these hospitals and their people must face an influx of patients when there's a Covid spike in their community. The only real way we can help them is to watch for a spike in Covid cases within our local community so to be ready for the omicron spike in our local hospital.
It's my opinion that Joe Biden is so terrible a President that single-handed he will convert most of Trump's opponents into supporters before the 2024 election. Right now, Biden is sending US troops to enforce the Ukraine's borders while leaving our own borders open. Right now, he's releasing terrorists and murderers while members of his party are planning to arrest unmasked school children in Loudoun county, Virginia. And he's working with the left which never admits its failures and never corrects its errors so he will not change anything he does.
Covid and loss of smell: the truth about the strange symptom
A top neurologist thought smell was our least crucial sense. Not any longer, he says
'...[Abi] had never been able to smell, and doctors are still not sure why. Now aged 15, she can’t tell if food is past its sell-by date or write a school essay on the five senses. Her mother monitors her for body odour and worries that when she has a partner she will never know what it is to borrow a hoodie with their scent clinging to it. Abi, from Dorset, has no memories triggered by things she smelt long ago and when the tumble dryer caught fire she remained oblivious in her bedroom.
“Her mother describes herself as Abi’s nose,” says Guy Leschziner, a consultant neurologist who met the teenager while researching his new book on the senses. “Her mother does the sniffing of the milk, the sniffing of the armpits and making sure that if there’s a fire, Abi will know about it. All those things that we take for granted.”'
'... [Guy] Leschziner is professor of neurology and sleep medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’. Before starting work on a new book he rated his five senses in order. He placed vision at the top of the list, as the one he could not survive without, followed by hearing, then touch. At the bottom he put smell and taste. It would be horrible to live without experiencing the rich variety of food and to be robbed of olfactory pleasure, but life would go on, he reasoned.
Now he would still rank taste as the least important sense, but sees smell as just as important as the others. “I underestimated the far-reaching ramifications of loss of sense of smell,” he says.'

There is a lot more luck in Wordle than people like to admit, even when you get it in three. I have started time-limiting my games. I put in guesses I know are wrong, but hopefully advance the play. Yesterday I lost after getting three letters in position after two, and every guess was from the available remaining letters.

Tim in Vermont re CNN. The image of CNN on air staff complaining about losing Zucker ( their Captain! ) reminds me of a sales team that doesn’t hit quota complaining about the termination of their Sales Manager. Somehow they miss the obvious point that they’ve been failures themselves and they are the next out the door. The second dropped shoe lands on them. The smart ones, if there are any, are laying back and signaling an eagerness for new leadership and direction.
"I keep getting notices that I have exceeded 5GB on the iCloud, and I need to send money." Of course, watch out for scams, but... Many instances of that message are a result of old device backups. View and manage iCloud device backups Be careful to not delete backups for any devices still in use.
We are not to think that there may be treatments that would lessen these impacts. In the real world controlled by Fauci's expertise,
Freedom of Information Act releases have made it plain that Fauci helped to finance the virus, and that he is guilty of a crime against humanity, if ever there was a crime against humanity, creating this virus was it. He even redefined "gain of function" to get around the legal prohibitions in place to prevent the funding of the work being done at Wuhan.
I keep seeing the phrase "The CDC thinks we are morons." Well, the CDC *knows* that we are mostly morons, but the problem is that they aren't quite as smart as they think they are either. It's turtles all the way down, and the CDC doesn't seem to be able to see beyond one or two turtles, at most. They imagined that they had complete control of the media and so could push nonsense to try to nudge people in the direction they wished, but the problem is that they don't have complete control and will be caught out on practically every lie, so scrupulous honesty and good intentions were the only policies that ever had a chance, and they rejected them from the start because they truly believed that 'propaganda is a science.' Not very much involving human behavior is actually a science, as the old saying goes, "Never bet on a sport where the players can talk."
I am worried that when store shelves start to empty in Canada, and people start getting laid off, that the truckers might find themselves in an unpredictable dustup, with the press lined up against them, using the same flexible theories of 'truth' that the CDC uses. I can't see how this is going to play out, but it will play out.

My Gofundme donation to the truckers has been refunded. Fuck. Whoever is behind this campaign is not playing around.
