Has ‘Patriot Front’ ever gotten into a real dustup with antifa, or are they the same people in different uniforms? They seem like, if they are on the level, that they would be a natural target.

I'm traditionally a Republican and have voted that way. I'm hoping something comes out of the archive release of documents for 1/6 that will preclude Trump from running again.

It's time to move on.

I wonder whether Hunter Biden would have been offered a lucrative sinecure on Burisma’s board back in 2014 if they had known that eight years later his daddy would green light “minor border incursions” by Russia. I guess the key to being a Democrat politician is to know when to forget you’ve been bought.

Looking forward to tonight's SF49 - GB match-up. While I do think GB has the edge (along with a coldness edge), if Jimmy G. pulls it off, next weekend would see a Jimmy v. Tommy match-up. [Presumes TB wins tomorrow.]

I had something in mind to say about the Vogue cover . . . it wasn't the blessed lack of bling . . . it wasn't the bad photography . . . what was it?

Right, from the tags-- 'race consciousness' isn't sufficient anymore. We have reached 'conscious raceness' and to me that feels like going backward.

A life-long one, right?

Trump is running around rampant in your head, rent-free, maybe even hosting WWE "rassling" matches in there.

To understand Ukraine you have to understand who the oligarchs are aligned with. I don't know much either but . . .

Burisma is owned by a guy, I don't remember his name, but he was a high ranking official in the Yanukovych government. Yanukovych was the Russian backed President of Ukraine who was overthrown in 2014 by Western supported protesters. So the money the money that was funneled to the Biden's was directed from Moscow.

The supposed Republican that has had enough of President Trump is a Troll

But, it is a good opportunity to explain the Democrats illegal dirty tricks.

Dems are doing their oppo research already. The DC cabal of Grarland, Wray, the IRS, State Dept and Intel community, are already working now setting up the back story to launch the "counter intel" investigation. Confidential Human Sources are already sniffing around the DeSantis camp.

The larger truth is. No matter who the Republicans advance, they will get the exact same treatment as President Trump.

There is a provocative editorial in today's WSJ by Lance Morrow on the devolution and decline of Minnesota in recent years titled "How Minnesota Went from Tom Sawyer to Huck Finn." The online version of the essay so far has received over 400
responses. The author tries to argue that the recent events surrounding the George Floyd rioting and attempts to defund the police in Minneapolis represent the entire state of Minnesota, that it is a microcosm of the entire state. It is kind of like arguing that conditions in Madison represent the whole of Wisconsin. Plus the author completely misunderstands the characters and roles of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. Very awkward use of metaphors. I thought the editorial might be worthy of blogging but by now it is old
news.

I was visiting Florida a few months before the 2016 election.

All I saw were a TON of Trump bumper stickers, signs, and flags on homes and cars and trucks.

It was a 10-1 advantage for Trump.

I called the Trump win early because of that.

Birches said...

I saw the Ridley Scott movie, The Last Duel. The movie bombed at the box office. It cost one hundred million to produce and earned thirty million. Scott said this was because audiences have been dumbed down by watching too many Marvel movies. My feeling is that Ridley Scott has been dumbed down by too much wokeness. The script by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon tells the story of the alleged rape of a medieval aristocrat. The story is supposedly told from the view point of the husband, the woman, and the alleged rapist. Not true. All three versions are told from the viewpoint of woke feminism. In all three versions, the woman looks put upon and treated to varying levels of abuse. The subtext of the movie is that men are just awful.....I suppose that it's historically accurate to say the aristocratic women were not treated fairly in 1385 France. But neither were serfs, minor aristocrats, et al., et just about everyone except the King.....If you wish to highlight the cruelty and iniquities of medieval France, there are harder cases than this woman.

Can't blame this on Mike McCarthy. The Packers were having such great success with the run and then they play actioned and didn't go back to the run. Stupid.

Oh Yea said...

Bengals to beat 49ers in Super Bowl to break Joe Montana curse.

William said...

Scott ignores all the things that make medieval movies fun. France in 1385 was the place where courtly romance was invented. People, ie me, like to see brave knights and the chaste, beautiful maidens who encourage and inspire them to pursue honorable quests. I know that wasn't the truth of life back then, but it's far more fun to imagine it was....I think the original Star Wars and the Daenyrs story arc in GOT (before they fucked it up) was something like a courtly romance.....Anyway, why make a movie about medieval knights and maidens in order to blow the cover off courtly romances and tell us how terrible they really were.

Birches said...

I'm ok with Brady winning another one. But I'd like to see the Bills mafia finally see things through.

William said...

I feel certain that if Emilia Clarke had offered Aaron Rodgers her scarf and support prior to this game, then the game would have had a happier outcome. If she wore a diaphanous gown while cheering him on, that would have also worked wonders. Men do amazing feats in the presence of beautiful women in diaphanous gowns.

gspencer said...

13-10, 49ers.

Wow.

Jimmy meets Tommy next weekend.

hawkeyedjb said...

It's good that Rodgers will move on after this. Let the Packers look for a successor; Aaron can't win the big game anyway. How many lost playoff games in his career? Is it some kind of record?

Aaron Rodgers will play next year for... The New Orleans Saints. Or the Pittsburgh Steelers. Neither of them will go to the Super Bowl, but they will have a good regular season.

Bender said...

If the Pack are stunned at this, that would explain why they lost.

You can't take anything for granted or be overconfident. Same with Brady vs. Rams tomorrow. Or KC and Buffalo.

Birches said...

As long as we're talking about Aaron Rodgers and women: I do not get the Shailene Woodley thing. She is not an attractive woman.

Will this finally end the "Titletown" bullshit. The Packers have only won two Super Bowls in the modern era, despite having 30 years of Hall of Fame QB play. Eight teams have won more, five teams have won as many.

P. Manning lost more playoff games than AR.

Yes. Peyton Manning won one more SB than Rodgers.

hawkeyedjb said...

Might as well lose early; Tampa would have blown them out anyway.

Big Mike said...

@Willuam, point of information. “The Last Duel” is based on a real trial by combat. Had Jean de Carrouges lost the duel, not only would he have been dead, but his wife Marguerite would have been burned at the stake.

I recently watched The Last Duel, as I wrote here afterwards. Then read a little. Based on non-fiction book, and the incident apparently long well known in France as part of history and culture. Speaking of cruelty, apparently the servants who testified at trial were tortured to ensure they were telling truth (and did not change their stories as a result). Might have made for a good scene. I was impressed that Affleck and Damon, who both have screenwriting credits and are 2 of the 4 leads, did not do anything to write their characters as appealing. As for Scott, the director of Gladiator knows how to put together hand to hand combat scenes. Staging it as Rashomon does make for some drag, but there are key distinctions in the versions.

Readering said...

As a Rams fan I should be pleased with today's result, but then I remember their recent record against the 49ers.

To each their own. Just looked her up on duckduckgo since I had no idea who she was. Not a supermodel, but also not unattractive. Were I single I'd go after her.

Doesn't look anything like my wife, but looks like she shares a major feature. I've known many a guy say they're never gone to bed with an ugly woman, but have sure woken up with some. I've never woken up with one. And anyone with her won't either.
