We've had snow on the roads since December 26. The local garbage collector, Republic Services, has canceled all pickups for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We are due for more snow tonight and into Thursday, so it's likely they'll cancel for Thursday and Friday. All this in the name of safety:
Due to hazardous road conditions and our commitment to public safety, we have suspended all routes for Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
We will be collecting double your regular material at no charge on your next regular service collection day.
A few years ago at our previous home, they canceled for two weeks in a row. The forecast for next week is for mixed rain/snow with temperatures down to 33. So, I won't bet against service cancelation next week too.
Republic Services is not known for vigorous service with even a drop of snow on the ground. This is Seattle after all. Snow plows for the main roads but not for the residential streets.
No, it's 1-deg above freezing. Frigid temps for Pugetopolis.
It was 22° when we went out this morning. We didn't use the car because the roads were icy and it was more neighborly to leave them to those who needed to drive to work. So we left home about a half hour earlier than I would normally to do the sunrise run, beginning in near darkness. We did the whole thing as a walk, and logged close to 6 miles. It was fun going from darkness to daytime, and we never felt cold. I used a handwarmer that insured my hands were never at all cold, and I was dressed warmly enough that in the last mile, I was too hot and opened up my coat and took off my hat.
You Won't Believe What the IRS Says People Must Declare as Income
[Virtue signaling to looters who steal property!]:
“If you steal property, you must report its fair market value in your income in the year you steal it unless you return it to its rightful owner in the same year.”
"Does this mean that, if you’re a looter who exploited the riots in Minneapolis last summer or part of the smash-and-grab crime spree in San Francisco right now, the IRS actually expects you to declare those goods you stole as income?
Probably not, but since the IRS is a government agency, who knows?"
Seattle's mayor, Jenny Durken, wants people to clear the snow off their sidewalks. No notice on when she's going to clear the tents off the sidewalks in front of city hall.

My brother's pipes all froze in the new house they are building back home and he just got done wrapping them in heat tape.
On a side note the crypto's are doing their year end tax wash so if you are looking for an opportunity to get into crypto currency now is the time.
Everything is artificially down 20-30% right now. Government made a mess again.

What's the dog's name and what breed is he(?)?
It’s a golden doodle.
And his(her?) name?
Why do you live in that frozen wasteland? Come back to Delmarva!
