Good for them. What a final point! So many great saves by Nebraska. I love volleyball - one of the sports where the women's game is every bit as exciting as the men's.
Volleyball at that level is amazing. It's fun to play anyway, but at that level it's amazing to watch. Seriously good athletes with quick reflexive responses and the ability to direct, change touch on the fly. Plus...you try jumping up to spike or defend for minutes on end. You tire out quickly.
Dana Rettke is, in my humble judgement, the greatest athlete in Wisconsin Badger sports history. She dominated women's college volleyball for 5 years and helped Wisconsin reach the final four in three consecutive years, culminating in an NCAA title.
Best of all, Rettke has a wonderful attitude and the enthusiasm of a 14 year old. The Badgers women's volleyball program has been a breath of fresh air in this horrid era of Covid and partisan politics.
With a volleyball title in hand I can now move on to my other favorite sport, Olympic curling.
Well done, ladies. Women's volleyball is one of my favorite sports to photograph--tons of action and celebrations after every point. Thanks for sharing that one.
It's too bad that the NCAA decided to use sports to advance their left wing political agenda. Watching 2 minutes of that video was the most college sports I've seen in any moth of the last 5+ years
It is going to be funny, however, when all the "women's" volleyball teams end up taking over by men claiming to be "trans"
My goodness, all of them are good. I followed the girl's volleyball team at my children's HS, which won a state championship, but this is well beyond that.

that was a pretty interesting volley! (i mean, for one without sand (or swimsuits))
Huskers fought hard! Took them to the limit!
The last ladies born female vs. ladies born female final?
Tom Shatel of the OWH. This guy keeps them in business.
“Is it really over?
Please say there’s another set. Please say there’s another match tomorrow night.
Please say the grandest display of volleyball you might ever see isn’t quite over yet.
Please say the most talented and grittiest Nebraska team you might ever see gets another day, another shot at the title.
But it is over. Wisconsin won the NCAA title Saturday night in a match that will live forever in the minds of those who saw it.
Nebraska: No. 2 in the Big Ten, No. 2 in the NCAA tournament, No. 1 in your hearts.
The Badgers were too good. But barely. This was as even a championship bout as you could have hoped to see — or maybe ever see again.
Finally, after five sets and nearly three hours and 20 minutes, it was over.”

No #16 is a trophy hog.
Speaking of porn.
Who came up with volleyball shorts?
Butt Butt, where are the bikinis?
just kidding. Very nice work.

It was exciting, no doubt about it. Ditto Thursday's game against Louisville. Congratulations, ladies! Well done.
It would take just 2 guy "girls" to fundamentally alter this sport forever.
Now if Nebraska had only had Lia Thomas on their team…
Congrats to Wisconsin...but Nebraska's defensive digs were the most spectacular part of that particular rally.
Great match.
Too bad the Huskers didn't win.
I had to play at half speed so I could see what was happening. On Wisconsin!

Just wait till Penn shows up with an all “female” team.

Enjoy this now, next year the winning team will have a few trans guys hogging the ball yelling “I’m a hero! I’m the greatest.”
Good girls winning. Congratulations.
That was some actually good volleyball

Nice to see Winsconsin win. I like women's vollyeball, one of few female team sports that I like.
My goodness, all of them are good. I followed the girl's volleyball team at my children's HS, which won a state championship, but this is well beyond that.
Athletic, tall women jumping up and down.
Hard to disapprove...
'Who came up with volleyball shorts?'
An unsung hero.
We may never know his name.
But we thank him, and celebrate him...
Give thanks to Wilt Chamberlain for making volleyball as popular as it is today.
He was the Black face of White Supremacy for being a Republican, but try to overlook it, if you can.
