Can we admit the possibility that the Democrats have encouraged the riots, and that the riots have become playgrounds for violent people? That guy who shot and killed the Trump supporter in Seattle, for supporting Trump, the guy who declared that he was not concerned that he had hit anybody innocent? He died in a shootout with Federal agents come to arrest him. He lived for this kind of violence and died by it.

Why wasn't the guy who pointed his gun at Kyle, the handgun he was illegally carrying, unlike Kyle's long gun, for which there was an exception in the law for people under 18, why wasn't he prosecuted?

This was just a show trial, like Trump's impeachment were he was only allowed to put up defenses that were allowed by Schiff and Pelosi, defenses that assumed his guilt, like the coming show trial of Bannon. Like the way the FBI raided Project Veritas's offices and leaked the contents of their phones to the New York Times. Why did they raid Rudy's offices and take his phones? To find out what was on them, same with Project Veritas.

The FBI is no better than the KGB. Right now we have hundreds of political prisoners rotting in a DC jail with no charges, because that is the punishment.

Meanwhile Joe Biden's crime family has cashed in on billions of dollars in graft, and we are all just supposed to look the other way.

You know who is the biggest pusher of "misinformation" about covid?

Healthcare authorities.

By not sharing the data they are supposedly using to formulate policy, they are sowing the seeds of doubt. Why all the secrecy? It's as if they want people to speculate and get it wrong.

And you know what? This is scarier than the terror threat after 9/11. That's how I see it.

I will type fast as- this is the 3rd time trying to answer the fertilizer comment two nights ago!!! I take so long to formulate I end up timing out the thread!!
I sincerely hope that- even w/yield diminished that arrangements can be made to accommodate locals and rely less on exports- more on domestic markets. I hope that there will be less waste- and that methods of enhancing fertility also enrich the topsoil itself- as chemicals never replenish- only deplete and allow monoculture which opens acres to becoming run down, weed prone and worthless w/out the go to remedy. Costs will be higher- quality may improve. Freshness may improve. Variety may improve.

Re: Mr Howell (last name escapes me!! Dowdy??) Oh, to have the likes of a forefather like that running through your blood! I will think of u and him on Sunday and raise a glass of something!!! In your family’s honor.

I looked back &it appears I did comment- in duplication.
I managed to add a few things this time around- I answered in a manner of: this is how it is and not as an either/or. It’s my opinion that feeding the world- exporting American products- means we get imported which in turn means: higher prices. I don’t know the ins and outs of the government trough- the manipulations of the market to get desired results. It’s definitely there.
I am not pleased w/this arrangement.

I blame Brandon.

As well as- depreciated yield across the board: cattle forages and grains included. Less feedstuff, less ability to raise livestock. Who knows how much land will need to be converted to growing human food? All of these massive feedlots- massive free stalls … well … it may not become a truism. But it sure would change the fabric of America.

You know I'm not good at making technology do what I want, ie leave me alone. Technology does not overwhelme me, I ignore it..That's sounds absurd but if you think technology is stupid and merely servicable, like a knapkin or a paper cup. Do you remember Chandler saying "Los Angeles has the personality of a paper cup". I do. Stress and mess is merely a modern this thing, according to Foucoult, invented. vented, by our modern times, by stressful and messy people. Get a woman. If you can't get a woman get a dog. A dog only - Ivan Blatny. Look him up.

I was so alone, when I was young ( maybe now ), I remember trying to leave Martina, I was in Prague waiting for the bus home, I had the tickets in my bag, my poetry in my bag, my passport and twenty quid in my hand. What did I do? I didn't want to leave! I said "Will you look after my bag" and went to get pissed. Oh well! Trust in a stranger. A kind of joke. But I did it on purpose.

I wonder how many real crimes Cyrus Vance Jr. let slide in order to pursue "The Case of the Purloined Diary." Did he overdose on Nancy Drew when he was a boy?

I still rely on the MSM for so much. I still read the NYT first thing in the morning. I don’t want to feel as if everything I read is basically tilted through wish-fulfillment, narrative-proving, and ideology. But with this kind of record, how can I not? - Andrew Sullivan

He is where I was a couple years ago when I still felt OK sending the NYT money every month, even though I knew it was greatly slanted. I really didn't want to believe the worst of them. Then, during impeachment, I think, it became clear to me that sending those liars money every month to help fund their propaganda was morally repugnant.

A couple facts I have not seen quantified previously on San Fran and some other "progressive" municipal governments.

The ethnic cleansing of SF: "In the core of San Francisco’s metropolitan area, the Black community has declined from one-in-seven to barely one-in-20 over the last 40 years, with most now ensconced in public housing. Black San Franciscans constitute 37% of the homeless and are now so marginal that one filmmaker even made a movie called “The Last Black Man In San Francisco.” Los Angeles and Portland have also experienced drops in their minority populations."

The degree of loss of the middle class: "San Francisco has the nation’s lowest percentage of children of any major American city while Los Angeles has seen its youth population plummet and even managed to lose its foreign-born population in the last decade. No surprise then that middle-class families are going extinct."

From Joel Kotkin's review of San Fransicko, which I saw through an Instapundit link.

--- (And when you watch the full version of the same video on YouTube, you see that, for some reason, the NYT cut off the key moment showing Rittenhouse’s self-defense — the moment that proved so critical in court!)

Note to Ann: Your heroes at the NYT doing their best to suppress the truth. And their best is very good.

Nativity
“Notre crime est del’homme” Lamartine. ‘L’homme.’

Everything stained: The tea stains the cup,
The cup stains the counter, the foot stains the snow,
The moon stains the air. Everything said.
I am told this is not an original thought.
Below, what was forgotten and cold,
As if it were not merely, actually true,
There was a birth, the unthinking was done
And this messy mix of snow and blood
Produced a word that meant ‘goodbye’ or ‘hello’,
Unsorting a chaos into ‘this one and that’
And saying “Insofar as I am here, that is there.”

Or if they are ‘mad’, we are ‘mad’, since
Neither they nor we can prove the obvious:
That Johnson kicked a stone but Berkeley
Was already dead, that the delusion suffices
To make a few words bring a cup of tea
And that, without God, preserving the hollow
Takes so long to say, everyman
Could seek to find
Putrefaction of his mother,
Of his brother, of his kind.

Beauty

Yes, she would walk the streets, sometimes to solve
A problem, sometimes because she loved the darkness
She would always find between the houses.
We tried to stop her – we talked to her,
Told her that this was being childish or
Stupid or romantic – it was foolish
To walk in the all innocence of nature
And say: “This is true.” Only, lunging forward,
We happened on the chance of history
And, hey presto, dead bodies. Still, we told her
“We love you” but your ‘schizophrenic’,
We said “Open your mouth”, without saying
“Speak!” – but she wouldn’t – a merely
Beautiful idiosyncrasy:
Which we crushed, destroyed, crushed as a bug
And then said “Crawl back!”
She couldn’t. Why
Couldn’t she be beautiful again?
Only because the mirror will kill us.
We have no conscience. No love. No honour.

I think the music died (Jon Miles - who remembers him?) when I died - no, that's unfair. I think the music died when the brits stop writing - or, they became karaoke singers - when your children start singing the songs you knew as life or death as if they were nothing, nursery rhymes, that's when you should die.

verything said forgets it's bon chance
Of an accident that broke my screen as I was
Driving through the dead skirts of Paris:
Where the car must turn but doesn't to the heart of
Those streets smiling and forgetting.

Broken
Beneath that bridge and our youth on its hands and knees
Or back there, the half green lawn, and where jokes
Where a plenty and didn't need to be remembered.

I thought, something strange, like hope might brew
As when - i bought a house, I sawed the wood,
and the place dissippeared beneath me.
