Dominick Black, who lived in Kenosha, and Rittenhouse traveled to a rural stretch of northern Wisconsin, where Black’s stepfather owned property, and purchased the Smith & Wesson 223-5.56 riﬂe from an Ace Hardware in a nearby town. They used Black’s name and Rittenhouse’s money. Black said he recognized he could have refused the illegal transaction, but feared that “Kyle would have threw a fit.” The idea was that they would go hunting, but Rittenhouse never took the necessary safety courses to get licensed. Instead, they shot targets.

Militiaman Ryan Balch, who attempted to oversee Kyle, noticed that the boy wearing the backward American-ﬂag baseball cap appeared to be in over his head. One of Balch’s militia partners, another infantry veteran, criticized the “lazy, la-di-da, la-di-da way” Rittenhouse let his weapon drift into dangerous positions. Kyle's friend Dominick Black told investigators that Kyle’s gun skills were “horrible.” Still, no one tried to call off the 17-year-old. According to a certain type of American logic, his gun made him a patriotic militiaman and granted him the right to be there.

Rittenhouse appeared to have had a rough time at school, having attended some high school but seems to have left without ﬁnishing ninth grade; two people told the Chicago Sun-Times that he had dropped out. Classmates described Rittenhouse as easily angered and confrontational.; 11/20/21, 8:00 PM

If the scriptwriter’s allegation about the scene Baldwin was rehearsing did not call for him to cock the hammer nor squeeze the trigger, nor had he personally checked the cylinder (something George Clooney — not exactly right of center — insists is standard on movie sets where guns are used), nor did he make certain that the gun was always pointed in a safe direction (i.e., not at people). Whether Rittenhouse was wise to be there that night, as an American citizen he was well within his rights to be there. And as for the five men he shot at, they had no right at all to attack him. None. At. All. I have no pity for them; they had no right to be rioting, burning, and looting in Kenosha. Huber’s parents are reported to be “devastated.” I have no sympathy for them. Had they raised him better he would not have been rioting and burning, nor would he have stupidly attacked an armed man, nor would he have been in prison prior to the riot for attempted murder of his brother.

As for the alleged “facts” you list in your puerile comment, I have caught you in too many lies over the years to give them much credence, and the wor “gullible” does not begin to cover it. But let’s look at the complaint about muzzle discipline. Next to Alec Baldwin cocking the hammer and pulling the trigger on a gun pointed at a group of people (the Colt model 1873 and it’s competitors from Smith & Wesson and Remington required two separate movements — the trigger cannot fire the gun until the hammer has first been cocked), well, Kyle’s muzzle discipline would seem to have been exemplary.; 11/21/21, 4:28 AM

Kyle Rittenhouse opened fire in the city of Kenosha during protests over the police shooting of a black man. Rittenhouse faced charges including homicide. On Friday the jurors found Rittenhouse not guilty after four days of deliberations. The verdict is final as prosecutors cannot appeal. Rittenhouse has reportedly been linked to white supremacists. The jury was also overwhelmingly white. The national guard has been dispatched to the area in the wake of the ruling as authorities step up vigilance against possible protests. President Joe Biden has issued a statement calling for calm. He said the verdict will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, but people must acknowledge that the jury has spoken. you're confusing credentials with useful skills. If your allegations about Kyle's scholastic career, etc., are correct, he was lacking in credentials but still able to take out 3 hostile violent criminals with NO collateral damage, while under threat of being shot by one, and physical attack by the other two. He stood up in open court, did not deny what he had done or try to blame anyone, and defended his actions.
Mr. Baldwin, on the other hand, has sterling credentials- college graduate, multi-millionaire, credentialed progressive. He still could not finish a set-piece movie scene without killing a totally innocent, non-threatening worker on the set and injuring another. His first reaction was to try to blame one of his many underlings for not doing what he should have done (been knowledgeable about and put into play the basic rules of gun safety).
