There was a very powerful wind storm come through Puget Sound today. The low pressure was 942 millibars, setting a new record. Puget Sound Energy had 85,000 customers without power, now only 78,000. We lost power at about 3:15 p.m., with no estimate on when it'll be restored. Power is out all over eastern King County.

This power outage is giving me plenty of time to read The Sleepwalkers. Someone suggested it last winter or spring. It's a good read. I think that might have been Tim of Vermont. Whoever it was, thank you.

Arrest Fauci trends after dogs were locked in cages and eaten alive under doctor's watch

Which is worse?
a) That Dr. Fraudci personally vivisected 10's of Thousands of Dogs?
b) That He ATE hundreds of them?
c) That He used OUR Tax dollars to do all that?
d) That our poor Chuck, thinks this is All JUST FINE??

Here's the headline- it's behind a paywall so no link: Rhode Island Set to Be First State to Pilot Safe-Injection Sites for Drug Users

But I think the really important question is- will they allow unvaxxed druggies to use the safe-injection sites or will they be treated as pariahs?

How would one explain color to a creature that only sees in black and white?

In related news, there's a new piece up on Quillette titled Bad News - A Review that I recommend highly. Short version - the progression from ink-stained wretches to trust funders as guardians of journalism explains why current times appear to be increasingly insane, especially to those without a college degree or a steady source of unearned income. Worth a read - an excellent condensation to share with the clueless.

For more or less a decade econtalk.org has had weekly interviews about utility functions (what do people maximize) that's mostly feminized psycho-claptrap. Even droll Mike Munger seems to be going along with it.

Previously it was about perversities of economic systems - how direct action produces the opposite result, where something useful could be learned.

Bats are fine, Gilbar, even the occasional Pangolin, but leave the dogs alone — is that your story (species-ist!)?

Cute, Floppy Eared BEAGLES!
Beagles that only want TWO Things! To LOVE People... And maybe chase a few rabbits

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2021/10/dr-anthony-fauci-funds-torture-beagles-tunisian-lloyd-billingsley/
Our investigators show that Fauci's NIH division shipped part of a $375,800 grant to a lab in Tunisia to drug beagles and lock their heads in mesh cages filled with hungry sand flies so that the insects could eat them alive," the non-profit White Coat Waste project told reporters. "They also locked beagles alone in cages in the desert overnight for nine consecutive nights to use them as bait to attract infectious sand flies," all to test an "experimental drug."

White Coat Waste also claimed that some of the dogs had their vocal cords removed so their barking would not disturb the attending scientists. Rep. Nancy Mace fired off a letter to the National Institutes of Health, calling the cordectomies "cruel" and a "reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds." Mace is a South Carolina Republican but signatories to her letter included Democrats Cindy Axne, Steve Cohen, Jimmy Gomez, Josh Gottheimer, Ted Lieu, Mike Quigley, Lucille Roybal-Allard, Terri Sewell and Eleanor Holmes Norton, plus more than a dozen Republicans, including Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick and Maria Salazar. . .

Since I hooked up an over the air antenna to my TV, I get network TV again, after cutting out cable, and I happened onto Family Guy. Since when did it become one more Democrat and Big Tech propaganda theater? First, it's a "very special episode" on the harms of vaping, and then Chris is mocked for being concerned that a smartphone basically tracks people wherever they go, as if such a concern is utterly ridiculous, and as if we hadn't seen ample evidence of government agencies grossly abusing the power of surveillance in these past several years.

When the government starts to define political opinions as criminal and punishable by imprisonment, see Jan 6, and when the party that is in control of these spy organizations takes it upon themselves to extra-legally define thought crimes, well, I think that the Chris character is onto something, and I don't think that Family Guy is going to be able to tamp it down in their "get off of my lawn you young kids!" way, even though it sure seems to worry the old fogies who produce the show.

The most ironic thing is 760,000 Americans are dead likely because of Fauci's well funded science experiments but he's going to end up retiring because the public got outraged over a few Beagles.

Michael Vick went to jail for almost 2 years for what he did to dogs... and Fauci did much worse.
