"Gruden also criticized President Obama during his re-election campaign in 2012, as well as then-Vice President Joseph R. Biden, whom Gruden called a 'nervous clueless pussy.'"

Oh, no! You can't do that!

Interesting to see that now "clueless pussy" is fit to print.

We have entered an impossible environment. It combines (1) hypersensitivity (outrage is based on a standard set by the most hysterical self-appointed “victim”) (2) perfect and ineradicable recording of every word and gesture since the Internet began and (3) instant and global mobilization of grievance-mongering online crowds. It is both a way to destroy rivals and gain prestige; but also a source of cruel entertainment, like bear-baiting or cock-fighting.

I see no way out.

We should know what Joe-Potemkin-Asshole Biden has said in PRIVATE. I want every e-mail and correspondence from the last 40+ years of one Joseph R Biden, released. Then - fire him for his freedom of speech.

This incident only confirms that the Left totally owns the sports business.

Someone at ESPN leaked this out and Gruden is now out millions of dollars. Which, in a way, is fine. The whole professional sports industry needs to be brought to its knees: MLB, NBA and NFL.

You could see this coming. But now I have to ask: Who among us could have their emails, written words, spoken words, and thoughts reviewed going back as far as you've lived, and come out pure? Anyone? Any. Single. Person? I'm a pretty nice person, but I can assure you I've used every conceivable name for every kind of person at some point in my life. And I'm pretty sure I've been called most of those names as well. Somehow I made it through. Hell, I remember when Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, and Don Rickles used to make people think and laugh by using those names.

The endgame for all of this has to find it's way...and soon. Otherwise no one is safe, everyone is suspect, and only your Government can decide who is guilty and who is innocent. And folks, I don't think you want to turn your life over to them. Once they look to you as a target, they only need to go through emails, speeches, talks, and written words to find your obvious guilt.

Time for a strike. Time to quit playing along with it.
Atlas is about to shrug.

I mean, never. Not 30 years from now... not if there's fire. Not even if you hear a thud from inside my home and a week later there's a smell from in there that can only come from a decaying body and you have to hold a hanky against your face because the stench is so thick you think you're going to faint, even then don't come knocking or, if it's election night and you're excited and want to celebrate because some fudge-packer you dated has been elected the first queer President of the United States... and he's going to put you up in Camp David and you just want to share the moment with someone... don't knock... not on this door. Not for anything. Got me. Sweetheart?"

which counts as one of the movie great moments.

The public world is very frightened of everything these days. It's women wanting everything to be nice, and being the target audience of the MSM.

Its amazing how after screeching about THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO PRIVACY for years, the liberal/left NOW believes no one should have private thougths or communications. Its astounding that the NFL Fired a Coach because of what he emailed his boss in private.

Make no mistake this isn't happening because the NFL Commissioner decided it. Its going on because the NFL OWNERS want it. Ultimately the Commissioner is their puppet. Unfortunately, the Center-Right is always dumb and wants to think Billionaires are on our side, or if they're not, its because they're STUPID.

A majority of the NFL Billionaire Owners are pushing this SJW Nonsense. That's why its allowed to happen.

I think I remember reading something just like this before. It was supposedly fiction.

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.”

Corporations are afraid of losing millennial dollars. That is what is driving this current insanity. No one cares or pays attention to the trans movement except young impressionable minds. And their minds are impressed upon by the loudest voices, which are coming from the mentally ill "social justice" crowd.

Rhhardin is right, it somehow stems from young women and their tendency to filter everything through the empathy lens. Young men just want women to like them so they go along with whatever women believe.

Corporations don't give a fig about older people, because they know older outrage does not lead to boycotts. That and older people don't spend money.

May be related to this news account of a press release:

"As Pride Month comes to a close, the NFL has released a new commercial that makes clear its support and embrace of the LGBTQ+ community.

The 30-second spot begins with the line, "Football is gay" as light cheering plays in the background.

"Football is lesbian. Football is beautiful. Football is queer. Football is life. Football is exciting. Football is culture. Football is transgender. Football is queer. Football is heart. Football is power. Football is tough. Football is bisexual. Football is strong. Football is freedom. Football is American. Football is accepting. Football is everything. Football is for everyone."

I guess it's "accepting" of only so much.

Why is "pussy" in this context misogynistic?

I've always understood it to be another way of saying timid, like a small cat. Or a "'fraidy cat". I've never understood it to have anything to do with female genitalia. It just doesn't make sense that way.

But as a timid little kitten, a 'fraidy cat, it makes perfect sense.

Remember, they were not looking at Gruden's emails per se. They were looking at the company emails of Washington Football Team executives implicated in widespread workplace impropriety. Unfortunately for Gruden, he apparently writes so much stupid shit all around that his email exchanges with a single corporate account are enough to force him to resign for misogyny, homophobia and racism. But this could be just scratching the surface of all the Shitshow emails by folks in NFL. 650,000 WFT corporate emails under review in the investigation.

Game, Aaron? It's not a game. Here is a list of what it is now. Please note that "game" is not on the list:

How a game be lesbian? Or is it a hate crime to ask questions like that?

I think the NFL is very aware that their business inflicts early death and mental incapacity on their workers. They’ll do anything to signal their virtue and direct the public’s gaze away from their profiteering at the expense of their mostly black workforce. Also, Gruden got toorich a contract and the Raiders wanted to retrade. Mission accomplished.

Lurker21 said...

The p-word: which came first, the reference to women's anatomy or to weak, cowardly men? Most likely the former. It is curious, though, that today "pussy" can also be applied to women who are considered weak and cowardly. Op-ed writers can now discuss whether applying it that way also constitutes misogyny or female self-hatred or whether the insult has transcended its origins.

"A nervous, clueless pussy": the word that stands out there is "nervous." Biden is clearly clueless and you can call him a "pussy" if you want, but he's actually quite brazen and unashamed, isn't he? What was seen as nerves might actually have been an early sign that Biden was having trouble putting his words together coherently.

Using work emails is very dangerous. But sacking him for 10 year old emails? Aren't people protected against unreasonable searches? This says they were looking for reasons to sack him, and the emails were a plausible excuse. I hop ehis employers pay! And I don't watch NFL. Why would I? We've got rugby, and football - the real beautiful game - and cricket to watch and enjoy.

Amadeus 48 said...

"Using work emails is very dangerous. But sacking him for 10 year old emails?"

It is even better: when he wrote the e-mails, he wasn't working for the NFL or any team. It was his private e-mail account, and he was an employee of ESPN writing to an executive of what is now known as the Washington Football Team (then known as the Washington Redskins). They are sacking him for thoughtcrime committed when he was not an NFL or Raiders employee.

But as I said above, his real crime was too high a pay packet coupled with poor results on the field. I suspect the owners of the Raiders used this as a pretext to fire him. Meanwhile, the NFL is glad to get a chance to signal their its virtue, given the way they exploit their (mostly black) workforce.

BLM + head injuries - moral compass = NFL.

I always found Chucky to be overrated as a head coach. The way the media was always fawning over him was too much. I'm not surprised at the revelations about Gruden's poisonous emails. Good riddance Chucky.
