"Eleven 'heavily armed' members of a fringe group called Rise of the Moors were arrested on a Massachusetts highway Saturday..."

"...following a bizarre nine-hour standoff with law enforcement that included hostage negotiators.... The nature of the group is unclear as police continue to investigate. 'We’re not anti-government. We’re not anti-police. We’re not sovereign citizens. We’re not black identity extremists,' the man in the video said. 'We haven’t violated any laws.' The men claim 'to be from a group that does not recognize our laws,' the Wakefield Police Department said in a statement. 'No threats were made, but these men should be considered armed and dangerous.'"

The NY Post reports.

Hi Prof: This story once again shows the Left’s priorities colliding.

“Must have strict gun laws” vs “Mustn’t have proactive policing, especially against blacks.”

The media, including even the rightie Post, tied themselves in grammatical knots trying to avoid naming the race of the suspects. A casual headline reader would think these guys were toothless redneck Ruby Ridge types.

The Moors will be sympathetic defendants - “we had our guns out because we ran out of fuel on a deserted road at 2 AM, and instead of helping us, the Staties treated us as a smorgasbord of BS gun arrests, plus we were afraid they’d kill us for being black and armed.”

Could lead to a Heller/Mcdonald-like precedent, or more likely just quiet dismissals and an admonishment to the MSP: “what the hell are you doing actually enforcing the gun laws? They’re just there to keep the law-abiding in check!”, followed by even more de-policing.
