It's a complicated story, so read the whole thing at "Sharon Osbourne Is Out at 'The Talk'" (Hollywood Reporter). I'll just excerpt some highlights, which I don't expect you to understand if you don't know the context.
From the statement by CBS: "As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace."
From Hollywood Reporter: "The news came two weeks after the March 10 dustup, one that was followed by multiple allegations of racist comments from Osbourne being levied by former co-stars Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete.... After Robinson Peete... alleg[ed] Osbourne had referred to her as 'too ghetto,' Remini... claimed that Osbourne had made racist comments about former colleague (and Chinese American woman) Julie Chen, homophobic remarks about The Talk creator and then-moderator Sara Gilbert and made anti-Italian slurs toward Remini herself.... [Osbourne] gave interviews to both Variety and Entertainment Tonight, claiming that she had been 'set up' by the producers and was offered up as a 'sacrificial lamb.' Her publicist also issued a doozy of a statement, alluding to Remini and Robinson Peete's comments by noting 'The only thing worse than a disgruntled former employee is a disgruntled former talk show host.'"
Now, Osbourne is the "disgruntled former talk show host." So we'll see what else she has to say.

Well, you're right. I have no idea what any of this is about, who most of these people are, and have never even heard of the show, 'The Talk'. I don't know if it's TV or radio. (well..it's CBS so I'm guessing TV). But I will say this: They hired Sharon Osbourne. What were they hoping to get? High-brow insights on culture? At least (according to the accusations) she's an 'equity' bigot. She got in an insult to Chinese, Jew, Black, and Italian fellow employees (or as we used to call them (chink, kike, coon, wop). There.
Remember those days when we called each other names to our faces? Seems like we were much healthier and got along better throughout society than we do now. Now? Everyone is suspect and can be pointed out to the 'authorities' at a moment's notice. Almost like the ending of "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers".
Racism charges are strikingly similar to leprosy. If someone has it, you must distance yourself from the infected "host", otherwise you will also get afflicted (read: accused).

The Talk" is like Bigfoot: it gets talked about a lot, but nobody has ever actually seen it.

Her daughter was cancelled for her "Donald Trump, who is going to clean your toilets?" comment. Or briefly cancelled. I think she quit Joan Rivers show because of a comment Joan made on the air about one of her friends, or something like that. It's hard to know for sure.
But there are plenty of Osbournes in show business and the family always seems to land on its feet. You hire them because you want something outrageous and they usually deliver. And strange as it may be, Sharon's own birth family was even weirder and more atrocious.
I wonder though: rock was outrageous fifty years ago and now it's taken for granted. It's becoming old people's music. The fate of hip hop in 2050?

Her father was a thuggish rock impresario who broke numerous laws and probably wasn't above using every slur in the book. Unappealing, yes. I wouldn't want to live in that world, but it does seem like a world of adults in comparison to our own.

Leah Remini should know better. She spent three years doing a TV show telling us about all the wrongs of her former church Scientology. One of those wrongs is the Knowledge Report which is essentially a snitch sheet on your fellow church members. Sure sounds like she submitted a Knowledge Report on Sharon Osbourne here.

What is ironic about the modern definition of ghetto is that historically, the ghetto was usually the richest part of town, although the Jews tried to hide it.
If talk show hosts of this sort of show start being respectful of each other no one would watch.

I don't know the teams, the players, or the rules. I guess a lot of people care about this. It gives shape and meaning to their lives.....My guess is that Sharon Osbourne will come out of this alive. Those poor women that she insulted will spend years in therapy and their lives will never the same. Life is so unfair.

You see, it's not that Piers Morgan said anything racist, he did not, it's that he dared to question Meghan Markle's honesty. You're not allowed to question Meghan Markle's honesty because she is a POC.
Sharon Osbourne is not allowed to defend her friend Piers Morgan, who has never said anything racist, because he entered the racist zone. Therefore she is also guilty of questioning the character of Meghan Markle. From there her friends suddenly recall and are offended by racist sounding things Osbourne said in the past.
I fully expect the network gave Osbourne the opportunity to reflect and tearfully apologize for her insensitive remarks in the past, and she passed. I also fully expect they threatened her to say nothing more on the topic or she would never be employed again. For now her reputation is tarnished and she if is willing to tow the line maybe she'll be allowed back. She voluntarily quit and mum's the word.
Piers is coming to her defense which is admirable and demonstrates he knows he's permanently banished and has nothing to lose.

One problem about making everything about race is that you wind up having to assign a race to everyone. Unless you want to characterize everyone east of Suez and south of the black sea as Asian, what do you do with Turks, Persians, Pathans, Syrians, Arabs, Kurds, Etc. Are they white or generic POC? Are Indians & Pakistanis sometimes white and sometimes Asian?
