I am 1,000% in favor of reparations for African Americans with the following provisos:
-- The Democrat Party pays out first. Every Democrat organization must drain every last cent of their coffers before the feds kick in and start printing the rest.
-- All affirmative action programs, quotas, preferences, set-asides, etc. are null and void forever going forward.

CNN reported Friday that Trump and McCarthy engaged in an expletive-laced shouting match during the January 6 insurrection
McCarthy told Trump he needed to rein in his supporters and said they were breaking his windows on Capitol Hill
'Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are,' Trump replied
McCarthy shot back, 'Who the f**k do you think you are talking to?' according to GOP lawmakers who had been briefed on the call
Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, a Republican who voted to impeach Trump, first told the anecdote at a town hall earlier this week
Herrera Beutler and several other GOP lawmakers confirmed the story to CNN on the eve of when Trump will likely receive a vote on impeachment in the Senate
Mark, the person who took the shot probably voted for Trump.
It was a mistake, he said it was a mistake. He will not be prosecuted. And he shouldn't be. Ashli Babbitt would not want him to be prosecuted.
For the record, in Russian, the word for insurrectionist is "rootless cosmopolitan", in German, the evildoers of the Nazi regime called the insurrectionists of the day - mostly Jews, but also everyone who opposed the Nazi regime - "anti-German elements".
A hundred years from now, the people who call what happened on January 6 an "insurrection" will be just as despised as we now despise the Commies who called good people "rootless cosmopolitans" and will be just as despised as we despise the Germans who called the good people who defended liberty in that sad country in the 30s "anti-German elements". You can already see that happening with the imminent prosecution of Governor Cuomo and the end of the careers of dozens of Trump-haters in the mainstream media. Not long from now, Ashli Babbitt will be on a postage stamp, and the people who hate her will be long forgotten by history.
The guy who shot at Ashli Babbit also shot at several fellow law enforcement officers. He was confused. He killed the civilian but missed his fellow officers. Incredible Stupidity, when the mens rea is completely absent, is not always a crime.
Joe Smith - ain't gonna happen. What you and me think is right might or might not be right, but there are thousands of very very tough people who are not gonna stand for the guy who pulled the trigger to spend so much as ten seconds of his future life being prosecuted. There will be no perp walk, there will be no handcuffs, there will not be a single moment where any law enforcement officer treats that guy like a criminal. Live with it. It was a fucking bar fight, at worst. People on both sides got a little emotional. Any prosecutor who tries to make the charges from a bar fight as bad as they can be is playing with fire.
He has to live with the fact that he was the untrained doofus who killed a peaceful protester by shooting at her while she was surrounded by fellow law enforcement officers.
So what? It is not your problem, it is not my problem. Ashli Babbitt died a hero, she does not want gamma males to prosecute the little guy who fucked up and shot her.
Do you? Do you want the little gamma males at the DC prosecutor office to try and ruin that guy's life? If you do, well, you want something almost nobody else wants. Look, he fucked up, and all his buddies probably are mocking him for being a fuck-up. But he goes down in history as a fool, and the woman he murdered goes down in history as a hero.
That is how the world works, like it or not. You don't prosecute people for being incompetent fools.
Words, words, words, words, words. All of them meaningless and totally beside the point.
It's a simple question. It requires a simple answer. A NAME. Nothing else. No explanations, no commentary, no musings on this silly thing or that. Just an effing name.
WHO KILLED THE UNARMED ASHLI BABBITT?
Either you know the answer to that or you don't. All the rest is obtuse noise.
If you don't know the answer, if NONE of us know the answer -- THEN WELCOME TO THE FUCKING POINT!
cooper, you nekul'turnyy goof. The Russian for "insurrection" is vosstaniye (Mike S or someone can check me) and the term 'rootless cosmopolitan" (bezrodnyy kosmopolit) was devised specifically as a way to say Jew without saying "Jew."
Soviet joke:
Comrade, tell me, what do you call a person who speaks Polish, Russian, and Yiddish?
A: A rootless cosmopolitan.
Correct! Comrade, tell me, what do you call a person who speaks Polish and Russian?
A: A bourgeois nationalist.
Excellent! So comrade, tell me, what do you call a person who speaks only Russian?
Peripherals Three separate incidents of children in daycare testing positive. None had symptoms. 90 year old and 36 year old vaccinated with no problems except sore arm.
God especially loves people with passion, no matter what the passion is for.
Also, he loves people without passion, because they have little hope in this world except for God.
God does not talk to me, angels don't talk to me. But I am really really old and I have seen an awful lot, and it hurts me to know how much God loves us all, and how little that fact is understood. God is a person too, some of us treat him with respect, the way we would treat a beloved older brother, some of us don't. BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT. The point is, stephen cooper did not create you, did not do a single thing for you, but he remembers the old days when he was pals with people who were kind to you, and they want you to know you should not hate on me for remembering that. God loves your passion, God loves you.
Also, if you want me to fix you up with a crazy liberal guy, I could do that for free.
A commnenter above said , that the guy who killed Ashli Babbitt "said it was a mistake." Has he been identified by law enforcement? Has he spoken publicly? What was the "mistake"? When law enforcement kills a civilian, like, say, George Floyd, don't we normally expect more from the perpetrator than "Oopsy!"? We are in the middle of a Bill of Attainder proceeding against the former President who didn't kill anyone. So far as I know, the only person who was deliberately killed during the Capitol invasion was Ashli Babbitt. I favor swift and sure punishment of law breakers at the Capitol. If the killer of Ashli Babbitt didn't break the law, then the Public needs to know why his action was lawful.
The okrana russian secret police dis mant things wrong they were the midwife for the protocols they enabled the deaths of the likes of stolypin, one of ths ablest of his ministers and did little if anything to stop the pogroms
Inga --- "fuck off" is not a curse, it is not blasphemous. It is part of my Anglo-Saxon heritage.
I also encourage people to smoke weed if they are suffering from a disease that can be alleviated with weed. Stop thinking all Christians are Ned Flanders.
And you are a nutball, who is so consistently wrong about everything that you may want to take lessons from Stephen Cooper who speaks to God and the angels who tell him all the secrets of the universe.
narciso, when i went to college in the 70s, my Russian professor was one of the closest friends of Kerensky at the Hoover Insitute. They were not special people, and they tried their best, but yes, Stolypin is guilty of what you say he was guilty of.
Hence the protagonist in belys petersburg is a son of a czarist minister like pobedesdenev who joins the social revolutionaries out of social justice concerns

That kind of insulting is ridiculous. Inga, you've proved yourself to be a troll.
What a waste of time!
I wish there were more liberal commenters. A lot more.
But trolls are drawing you in just to annoy you and waste your time.
I conclude that Inga is a troll and that is binding for my purposes here. I gave her a chance to prove that she is not a troll, but she proved that she is. 7/26/19, 6:00 AM
narciso - by coincidence i am re-reading Agatha Christie's "Towards Zero" (1944) with a plotline similar to Bely's novel - early on, the son of a hanging judge is suspected of a crime allegely committed from social justice concerns
Yes his last few tomes have been very good and consider some interesting notions what if islamic state had some funding from deep state figures what if a different deep state faction has sought to take power.
to be fair, anyone who is drunk and who is capable of logging on to the Althouse site and typing in a comment is by definition someone whose drunkenness should not inspire us to say "Yuck" ... and yes, I would be interested in what such a person has to say.
Contrary to what people who mock me say, I am interested in what people say. What God says, we have in the Bible, which is a fascinating book, what the angels say, well trust me many of you know more about that than you are ever going to describe on a comment thread, ever, and that is all right ---- after all, that which is said between friends is infinitely precious, and is beyond the price of rubies, so why should we expect to read about it simply by logging on to an internet site ------
trust me, my friends, each of you is infinitely precious in the eyes of God, and yes, I am interested in what you have to say.
Both parents were monarchists and liberal conservatives, being committed to the emancipation reform of 1861 introduced by the reformist Tsar Alexander II; they avoided political radicals and there is no evidence that the police ever put them under surveillance for subversive thought.[14] Every summer they holidayed at a rural manor in Kokushkino.[15]
Kim philby was the son of an arabist spy who had been interned in the uk for fascist sympathies during the war guy burgess was the son of a naval officer

I am no longer certain that Ashi Babbit was killed. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.bitchute.com/video/OgFCCWxSFIwW/&ved=2ahUKEwi3-OnT9-XuAhVwGVkFHRqqDbAQFjAAegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw0N5cC3fq1irdDsFPRzLMKk&cshid=1613188038746
Every report of the "insurrection" that Trump is being impeached for refers to it as "deadly."
Yet the one instance of actual "deadly" violence is that of a government law enforcement official shooting in (apparent) cold blood an unarmed protester.
Whose name is somehow not permitted to be published.
Huh?
Is this what our esteemed press considers journalism?
Philby and Burgess would not have been spies if the women they had wooed back in the day had not (with good reason) rejected them. The arabist spy and the naval officer married the sort of woman who really, to tell the truth, should have steered clear of arabist spies and naval officers, amirite?
Russia Collusion Dead Ender Truther Inga: "And you are a nutball, who is so consistently wrong about everything..."
To this very day Inga believes Putin manipulated our system to change votes and put Trump in office.
She also passionately believes Carter Page and Gen Flynn are traitorous russian spies.
She also passionately believes Kavanaugh was a rape gang leader.
Inga believes passionately the Hoax Dossier was fully verified and never proven false.
Inga believes passionately that the testimony Christopher Steele provided under oath to the court in London where he accurately described the hoax dossier as completely unverified doesnt really count at all because Steele gave his testimony via deposition in a location outside of the London courtroom.
Inga passionately believes she is well suited to identify "nutballs" who are "consistently wrong about everything".
@inga: So Stephen Cooper, are you still telling everyone not to get the Covid Vaccine?
Across the US, daily new cases are sinking like a greased scary black rifle out of a capsized canoe.
Why?
Because Winnie Xi Flu is running out of people to infect.
That means a couple things: mandates and masks were completely useless; and, virtually all vaccinations will be wasted, because they will be going into the arms of people who either weren't susceptible in the first place, or who garnered their immunity the good old fashioned way.
If memory serves, you were quite the mask and lockdown enthusiast, weren't you?
Well spies are not the most well adjusted figures take sidney reilly. He was working at crosspurposes to the cairo bureau that lawrence was a part of it.
boatbuilder: "Whose name is somehow not permitted to be published."
This is similar to the Hunter Biden story where Inga declared the lurid tales of Hunter's crack addiction and demonstrated predilection for underage girls all a wild conspiracy theory.
Which is quite similar to how Inga declared the assertion that Hillary had paid for the Hoax Dossier (quite true naturally) a wild conspiracy theory...even AFTER Hillary's legal henchmen admitted under oath.
Inga despises under oath testimony because it just gets in the way of her lovely delusions.
Last time I was accused of being part of a group of commenters who had hijacked a thread, a very nice Midwestern lady started a conversation about what wonderful memories she had of aunts and uncles on holidays, how nice it was that those hardworking people were able, in the free time they had when they were not working hard, to be kind and wonderful ....... she spoke of some details, spoke of how strange and wonderful it is to remember good people and the good things they did, not all that long ago (but long enough ago that NOBODY REMEMBERS THOSE DAYS without effort)
maybe I did it on purpose -----
there are literally thousands of stories I could tell about wonderful people who are long gone from this world, literally thousands of quotes I could quote, literally thousands of ways YOU COULD DO THE SAME THING .... but hey, just tell me I was one of the people who hijacked a thread, and don't bother to say what you could have said about YOUR WONDERFUL MEMORIES.
Well, maybe tonight. Maybe some other night. DON'T EVER DECIDE NOT TO TELL THE STORIES ONLY YOU CAN TELL.
I see our host earned (garnered) a whole post over at the Volokh Conspiracy. Just a post that says our host has a great take on 'sound and fury' gate. No comment about how her commenters are so much better than theirs.
That means a couple things: mandates and masks were completely useless; and, virtually all vaccinations will be wasted,
Why do you think Biden was so quick to ink the purchase of 200 million doses???? A bright 8th grader can see this is burning out, and quickly. In a couple of weeks it will be evident that all the vulnerable are protected and 100% vaccination is overkill. Biden (Dems actually, Biden is a fried), beholden to big pharma funneled billions into their pockets.
Ken B: "Best line of the day: “So Project Lincoln proves to be the horror show everyone knew it was.”

It's not my problem. But it will be a problem for the next person he shoots because he will still be UNTRAINED and he will still have a badge and a gun.
I worked with guys like this...cops who moonlighted as security to make extra money.
One night (at a hotel...I was the night manager) doing the floor check (looking for open doors, etc.), I was walking behind the moonlighting cop. Something dropped from the inside of his jacket. I picked it up.
When we got downstairs I asked him if he was missing anything. He said 'no.'
I then handed him the magazine from his semi-auto.
Inga: "Yes I’m curious. I bet it was a member of the Secret Service who was told they could use deadly force against any rioter trying to breach that window."
Why dont you just read their minds as you did with Mueller and his team?
Wasnt that how you "proved" Trump communicated secretly with Putin through Alfa Bank?
When did Trump know that Pence was in danger and why did he tweet that Pence betrayed him making his loyal followers look for Pence chanting “Hang Pence, hang Pence, hang Pence!” I’d love know more about that, maybe in the next few days we’ll know more.
Gee we don't know? Democrats so intent to impeach, never bothered to actually investigate, gather evidence, create timelines. Because facts really screw up Democrats brains.
Self-declared Clairvoyant Inga: "When did Trump know that Pence was in danger and why did he tweet that Pence betrayed him making his loyal followers look for Pence chanting “Hang Pence, hang Pence, hang Pence!”
Inga in Inga Mind Reader Mode is always more entertaining when she pretends she can divine the thoughts of groups instead of just one person at a time.
Pretending she knew what Kim Jong Il was thinking was fun, but the group stuff is much better.
Exit question: why did the democratical House managers engage in transparent and easily exposed idiotic lies when they could have called The Mystic From Milwaukee to testify as to the thoughts of others?

“Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama is standing by his account that he told then-President Donald Trump that Vice President Mike Pence was being evacuated from the Senate during the Capitol riot.
The conversation is of interest to Democrats because Trump sent a tweet at 2:24 p.m. on Jan. 6 saying that Pence didn’t have “the courage” to challenge the election results. If Tuberville’s account is correct, then Trump would likely have known before sending the tweet that Pence had been evacuated and was in danger. At the time, the insurrectionists had already broken into the Capitol, some of them calling for Pence’s death.”
Aldrich ames an agency legacy who was no good at operations but he had some drinking buddies who helped him up to head the soviet division hansen the bureaus counterpart was a legacy as well. “WASHINGTON – Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., stood by his account of former President Donald Trump's phone call to him during Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol despite Trump's lawyers calling the account "hearsay."
Thats not even including the official who was burning assets between thr time that hansen and ames were recruited that fellow has never been identified.
Yes I’m curious. I bet it was a member of the Secret Service who was told they could use deadly force against any rioter trying to breach that window. *************** And you suspect this....why???
If the S/S role was to get Pence out of the House chamber, why would one of its members go back to kill someone?
Free clue, Inga: "It happens all the time" doesn't work as a "reason".
Today is-for the next 6 minutes-February 12. ! month and 6 days since an unarmed woman was (apparently) shot it cold blood (captured on video) in the course of the most outrageous assault on the government of These United States in our history.
Who shot her?
Was she actually shot?
Who was/is she?
In the age of the instantaneous, the absence of answers is astounding.
Remember that time when a young Israeli captain fucked up and ordered a hit on an American ship?
He never spent a moment thinking he was gonna get prosecuted, because he knew his fellow officers were on his side.
Trust me, the guy who shot at Ashli Babbitt may have been the biggest moron on the force, but he is not going to be prosecuted. That is how the world works.
Inga said... Trump’s lawyer is either lying or is incompetent.
“WASHINGTON – Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., stood by his account of former President Donald Trump's phone call to him during Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol despite Trump's lawyers calling the account "hearsay."
It IS hearsay, as it's a statement made outside of court that attempts to "prove" that what was purportedly said as the "truth" of what was said---when the statement, its content and context have not been judicially examined.
IOW, poor neuron-depleted Inga, just because someone offers his "ACCOUNT" of what he said, that doesn't mean his "account is accurate, let alone TRUE.
Yes that seems to be the pattern, although brennan lost out on some big gigs because of his big mouth comey gets to bloviate further so do mccabe and atrzok.
“One way to clear it up? Suspend trial to depose McCarthy and Tuberville under oath and get facts. Ask Secret Service to produce for review comms back to White House re VP Pence safety during siege. What did Trump know, and when did he know it?”
“Trump’s lawyers are likely under ethics obligation to clean this up: duty of candor to a tribunal. You don’t get as counsel to make misrepresentations; if you do, you have an affirmative duty to clean it up. Tomorrow just got a lot more interesting.”
This pattern probably goes as far back as mark felt whose breakins into radicals homwa were much more agregious than anything nixon had carried out but kind ofstrzok and mccabe pretended to be just concerned patriots.
Steven- I was kidding. Sort of. Are you for real? Because your take smells like BS.
The problem is that nobody seems to care who he is or was or whether Ms. babbitt is actually dead.
As long as it is Donald Trump's fault, it's all good.
Do you have any actual, factual information to provide? Because someone I don't have any reason to trust, believe or credit put out a video which seems to provide pretty strong evidence that there was some stagecraft involved.
Tommy Tuberville @TTuberville · Feb 9 This unconstitutional impeachment trial of President Trump should stop now. Schumer and Senate Dems know they don't have the votes, but are moving forward. Join me in demanding Senate Dems end this partisan circus & deliver TARGETED COVID-19 relief to Americans WHO NEED IT MOST.

What does any of this have to do with the impeachment charges of inciting insurrection? Nothing? Yeah, that's what I thought.
It may provide fodder for Impeachment 3.0 though, I'm looking forward to it.
Anger, I'm afraid, is all that remains. Yes, the right is addicted to the politics of resentment. But they have something to be resentful about. They've completely lost the culture war, and instead of being magnanimous in victory, the cultural left wants to rub their face in it. It isn't enough for them to succeed; the right must fail. Sarah Palin and Donald Trump are acts of desperation. Cut off from the academy, the media, and the corporate world, political nominations are one of the few avenues the white working class have to land a blow against the establishment.
"Deaths among Americans ages 25 to 64 are increasing, particularly in Rust Belt states and Appalachia. These deaths, which have fueled a decline in U.S. life expectancy since 2014, are linked to several major causes of death. Compared to the 1990s, working-age adults are now more likely to die before age 65 from drug overdoses, alcohol abuse and suicides — sometimes referred to as “deaths of despair”— but also from an array of organ system diseases. Mortality rates have increased for 35 causes of death."
boatbuilder - well, good night, but lighten up. the dude shot at fellow officers and a civilian and hit the civilian.
No criminal mens rea at all.
Just a failure. He did not wake up that morning wanting to be the one guy who did the one thing that changed the whole thing from being what it would otherwise have been. He did not want to kill some young woman with a backpack. It is what it is. Do you have any idea how hard it is to train police forces for unexpected situations?
Why do you want his name, so that people can terrorize his family?
You are better than that.
BTW, I own the 1996 White Pages for Northern Virginia. You can't find it on Ebay.
What does any of this have to do with the impeachment charges of inciting insurrection? Nothing? Yeah, that's what I thought. -- Things the House might have considered before their hurry up and wait approach.
Hey folks, It sure was cool to see "Fat Jerry" give such an excellent summation for the defense. Awesome!
J. Farmer - I listened to poor Howard Stern tonight.
He is lame, he can't piss without a napkin to wipe up afterward, and he talks about how he tells his wife that he is in love with some young woman on TV. His subservient sidekicks laugh at everything he says. Liberal Boomers all, except for Ronny, who is insane.
Trust me, the liberals have no reason to think that time is on their side.

Last-minute call for Trump impeachment witnesses is welcome, Senate Democrat says
"Senate Democrats may be opening up to the idea of extending former President Donald Trump's historic second impeachment trial and calling witnesses as new details emerge of events surrounding the siege of Congress."
'...A report from CNN published Friday evening, offering fresh details about a contentious call between Trump and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on the day of the riot, led at least one Senate Democrat to say he and his colleagues would support extending the proceedings if House impeachment managers indicated a desire for it.
“If they make a decision to call witnesses, obviously, we would welcome that,” Sen. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland said on MSNBC.'
Inviting Republicans to also call their witnesses.
All this huffing and puffing should legally be swept away by the Constitution's Bill of Attainder prohibitions.
Interestingly, Wikipedia offers additional information in a separate "Attainder" (by itself) article. Excerpt:
In English criminal law, attainder or attinctura was the metaphorical "stain" or "corruption of blood" which arose from being condemned for a serious capital crime (felony or treason). It entailed losing not only one's life, property and hereditary titles, but typically also the right to pass them on to one's heirs. Both men and women condemned of capital crimes could be attainted.
Attainder by confession resulted from a guilty plea at the bar before judges or before the coroner in sanctuary. Attainder by verdict resulted from conviction by jury. Attainder by process resulted from a legislative act outlawing a fugitive. The last form is obsolete in England (and prohibited in the United States), and the other forms have been abolished.
Good for you. Why isn’t the press asking questions? Don’t give me any BS about how you sympathize with the shooter. So do I. Answers. Or at the very least, questions.
It's been a great week. I received $4,750 in back unemployment that I didn't even know I had coming, and it sounds like I'll be collecting $575 a week going forward until Sept. Thank your grandchildren for me. We finally broke a relative cold spell here and are back into the 80s, so I was able to bathe my French Bulldogs out by the pool. Bebe is 29 lbs and puts up a little resistance, but Petunia at 33 lbs really puts up a fight, I mean a real workout. Found out my nephew, who works directly for a prominent controversial (R) Senator, has decided he's needs a break from DC and is visiting us next week. It's been fun catching him stalking the halls of Congress on TV this week, pretty much the only reason we watched.
the press is not asking questions because the male members of the press are pussies and the female members of the press are useless. Why would you ask them to be different today than they were yesterday ? How many stories did you read about the 300 people murdered during the BLM violence last year?
Answer: "Zero".
Next question.
Let's not target some poor guy who was usually a hardworking cop, who had a bad day at work, simply because we are annoyed at the pussyness of male journalists and the uselessness of female journalists.
Trust me, the liberals have no reason to think that time is on their side.
It doesn't have to be. They've already won. Now it's only a matter of running out the clock. The white working class is already a minority in the country, and their numbers are still declining. They've been physically diminished, economically decimated, and culturally ostracized. Non-white births exceed white births, and each year more whites die than are born. The K-12 population is already majority non-white. And even in this rump condition, they are still villainized as the boogeymen of white supremacy.
What does the cultural left want? Diversity, Inclusion, Equity. DIE. When do they want it? Now!
But yeah, Pizzagate, QAnon, our guns(!). It's the white working class version of blacks blaming the CIA for crack cocaine and AIDS. It's helplessness masquerading as protest.
Do you buy that? Hint: Neither I nor-I will go so far to say-most of us who are asking the question have any interest in knowing who the person is or in prosecuting that person.
Why doesn’t the press? Which makes it the primary issue in every other case?
J Farmer - you seem like a nice guy, and that is why you have no idea how easy it is for people who know how to run the world to run the world the way they want to run it.
And don't let those white/non-white numbers fool you. Nixon looked more Mexican than most of today's Latinos. Obama had more slaveholder genes(more than 50 percent) than slave genes (zero percent).
Also, if you think that little creeps like Gates and Fauci are gonna be in charge for much longer, well then you are right to be sad about the future. But you would be wrong.
I agree with J. Farmer on a lot of his last two posts, but I feel it necessary to point out that the goose that lays the golden eggs is on life support and is fading fast. Like Joe Smith, I can live this out very comfortably.
You want a nice country, well then build it yourself. Don't sit around at the local truck stop listening to the potbellied old men talk about how good it used to be.
In the Iliad, one of the older fighters talks about the great deeds of his generation, and one of the younger ones gets angry, and says something like this:
The deeds of our fathers were what they were, but our challenges are just as great, and maybe even dwarf the challenges our ancestors met, so let not the elderly, who no longer can wield the weapons of war, congratulate themselves on the bravery of their days: each day is a day set in front of us as a day to be brave or not to be brave, and we are challenged more than our fathers, and our rewards will be greater.
If you don't want me to quote the Iliad anymore, just let me know.
"Inviting Republicans to also call their witnesses." Oh? Regarding what aspect? Anything? Team Trump has plenty of folks to add "context" to voting fraud concerns underlying the leadup and 1/6 speech. Let's do this!
Joe Smith - Fine - that was not a quote from the Iliad, I made it up .....
boatbuilder ---- I care. Here is what I can do about it ---- I can say, again and again, that I know how police squads work. Every once in a while some moron fucks up. Someone dies.
THAT IS DIFFERENT THAT THIS: a bunch of kids think it is fun to be criminals, and they kill someone. THE POLICE OFFICERS, MOST OF THEM, WOULD RATHER BE TEACHING KINDERGARTEN, and they are not happy when one of their pals fucks up.
The criminals, well, they bought into it.
This should not be hard. If I am on the jury, Derek Chauvin walks, Kyle Rittenhouse walks, and the Capitol Police officer walks. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND THAT I BELIEVE that Derek Chauvin, Kyle Rittenhouse, and the Capitol Police officer should never have been charged in the first place? There are many instances where cops get mad and kill people who were not posing a threat, and that is murder, but ffs, how can you look at what went on at the Capitol and not understand that the shooter was just an untrained idiot, not a criminal?
J Farmer - you seem like a nice guy, and that is why you have no idea how easy it is for people who know how to run the world to run the world the way they want to run it.
With all due respect, that is a meaningless sentence. What claim have I made that you believe this is a response to?
Also, if you think that little creeps like Gates and Fauci are gonna be in charge for much longer, well then you are right to be sad about the future. But you would be wrong.
In a complex system, there is no such thing as being "in charge." The elite don't get together in a conference room and run the world. They are united by a common background, common worldview, and common interest. Their power comes from positions within institutions, including the media, elite universities, think tanks, policy-planning committees, financial institutions, the federal agencies, and the military and national security apparatus.
It isn't a matter of getting rid of a couple of bad guys. The problem is systemic, diffuse, and has been in the works for decades.
The short answer is some victims are disposable and some arent, rittenhouse defended himself and as an object lesson thsy have tried to destroy him like the mccluskeys
I agree with J. Farmer on a lot of his last two posts, but I feel it necessary to point out that the goose that lays the golden eggs is on life support and is fading fast. Like Joe Smith, I can live this out very comfortably.
Nxim epstein weinstein the lincoln project the q doesnt seem so crazy now.
Yes, it does. Weinstein was nothing we haven't seen before. There's a reason the "casting couch" is a euphemism. Weaver was a creep hitting on college-aged men for dates and sex. That isn't child sex trafficking.
That people are trafficked in the sex industry is not some insightful revelation. Talk to the people who are actually engaged in trying to stop it, not the people who spend all day on 4chan.
Farmer, How confident do you feel about the "college-aged men" floor you mention? I mean, dry erase board Rove seems to have been aware of concerning behaviors since '08. Think the age range might have dipped here and there over the years and according to opportunities presented?
How confident do you feel about the "college-aged men" floor you mention?
I can't quantify the unknown. I can only go by what's been reported.
Think the age range might have dipped here and there over the years and according to opportunities presented?
Entirely possible. I do not doubt that Weaver is a sleazy, unethical creep with bad boundaries. Still, that isn't child sex trafficking. When you were 17, would you have found it that difficult to reject the advances of some old man?
Looks like, soon, former President Trump becomes the 1st american, to EVER be acquitted of Impeachment TWICE Think of it. NO OTHER PRESIDENT will have EVER been PROVED to be COMPLETELY proper to be President
Also, He's the ONLY President who had people Seriously consider if he should be President (through the 25th amendment process), and found COMPLETELY Capable
It's Like the Dem's WANT him to be President!! AGAIN!!
Vanity. Networking. PR. The place where the following year's conventional wisdom is formally announced.
Davos is a symptom, not a cause. They have much more in common with each other than the working-class inhabitants of their home countries. Their main concern is how to keep the globalization gravy train running. They've had an incredible run for the last 40 years. The Trump tax cut was just a bonus.
The 2012 GOP presidential candidate gave us a candid peak into the mentality of the world they inhabit: "These people who pay no income tax. 47 percent of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn't connect. He'll be out there talking about tax cuts for the rich. I mean, that's what they sell every four years. And so my job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them to take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
That's really how the elite see it. If only people would take personal responsibility for deindustrialization, outsourcing, mass low-skilled immigration, and foreign work visas. Those Ohio factory workers should've just done what Mitt Romney did. Get a Harvard MBA and go into leveraged buyouts.
Previously I have seen estimates that there are from 4-10 times as many cases as have been reported, since most people who contract the virus either are asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms.
That would put the actual totals in the 110-275 M range, which is 34-84% of the population. And 1M+ are being vaccinated every day (although a lot of those likely already had it.) So it could definitely be burning out.
This might be one of the most useless threads I've ever read here.
There are many smart people here who can discuss important issues honestly and respectfully. We don't need pointless name calling and dishonest attempts to one up each other.
Farmer said: "Yes, the right is addicted to the politics of resentment. But they have something to be resentful about. They've completely lost the culture war .."
I presume you must consider yourself to be on the winning side the of the culture war. "They" is the giveaway. I would suggest the country, not the right, has lost the culture war. It's not a white vs black war. Nor right versus left. It's a battle between good and evil. Support 2nd, 3rd and now 4th trimester abortion? Your side won. Support teaching homosexuality is normal? Your side is a winner. Support transgender males playing in girls sports? Again, you win. Support suppressing free speech? Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!!
I am an ethno-nationalist. I am critical of the liberal conception of individualism. I believe diversity causes division and threatens social cohesion. My stance for 20 years has been that the Republican Party needs to go right on social issues and left on economic issues. I believe the fusionist conservative pursuit of economic libertarianism and traditionalism is self-defeating.

Who killed the unarmed Ashli Babbitt?
When do we begin the impeachment of Obama for inciting violence and promoting gun sales like in Fast and Furious?
I am 1,000% in favor of reparations for African Americans with the following provisos:
-- The Democrat Party pays out first. Every Democrat organization must drain every last cent of their coffers before the feds kick in and start printing the rest.
-- All affirmative action programs, quotas, preferences, set-asides, etc. are null and void forever going forward.
Welcome to the real world, competing in life on your brains and talents alone.
Enjoy!

Topical hearsay (reported by CNN & DM):
Herrera Beutler and several other GOP lawmakers confirmed the story to CNN on the eve of when Trump will likely receive a vote on impeachment in the Senate
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9255877/Trump-refused-call-mob-new-details-McCarthy-call-shows.html
McCarthy seems not to have commented on this story yet.
CNN reported Friday that
No need to play the idiot by reading any further.
"Who killed the unarmed Ashli Babbitt?"
-- How did Officer Brian D. Sicknick die?
It sure as hell wasn't from being hit in the head with a fire extinguisher, as has been definitively reported by every major new source in the U.S.
-- What's on Hunter's laptop?
-- Why isn't Hillary breaking big rocks into little rocks?
The guy who shot at Ashli Babbit also shot at several fellow law enforcement officers.
He was confused. He killed the civilian but missed his fellow officers.
Incredible Stupidity, when the mens rea is completely absent, is not always a crime.
"It was a mistake, he said it was a mistake. He will not be prosecuted. And he shouldn't be."
'...a mistake' is a polite way of saying he fucked up.
When you fuck up and kill someone there should be consequences involving prison.
Who is the ally

Open borders. If I lived in SAmerica I would be packing my bags right now.
Really shouldn't pretend to speak for her on this.
fuck off walter who the fuck do you think you ever speak for except yourself
explain where i am wrong, loser

I would like to know who killed Officer Sicknick as well.
So Stephen Cooper, are you still telling everyone not to get the Covid Vaccine?
Words, words, words, words, words. All of them meaningless and totally beside the point.
It's a simple question. It requires a simple answer. A NAME. Nothing else. No explanations, no commentary, no musings on this silly thing or that. Just an effing name.
WHO KILLED THE UNARMED ASHLI BABBITT?
Either you know the answer to that or you don't. All the rest is obtuse noise.
If you don't know the answer, if NONE of us know the answer -- THEN WELCOME TO THE FUCKING POINT!
she is a fellow AF vet , walter, what were you doing when i was fighting for this country , walter, selling peanuts?
Inga - 70 per cent effective at best.
Take it, and you have a 30 percent chance of also getting COVID.
Trust me, the doctors are not gonna know how to heal you if you have side effects from the vaccine and side effects from COVID.
What is his name?
cooper, you nekul'turnyy goof.
A: A good internationalist!
Narr
I mean, really
Mark - I know the guy's name, I know his rank, and I know where he trained.
Fuck off.
Stephen Cooper is out of character tonight. Spoken to any angels today Stephen? How about God, what did he tell you today?
Consider:
"she does not want gamma males to prosecute the little guy who fucked up and shot her."
(Coop's got a hair trigger tonight.)
“Mark - I know the guy's name, I know his rank, and I know where he trained.”
Of course, God told him.
Peripherals
Three separate incidents of children in daycare testing positive. None had symptoms.
90 year old and 36 year old vaccinated with no problems except sore arm.

NO one should trust you.

No. Watch the video.
He took aggressive steps forward. There were multiple armed agents surrounding Ashli. There were people behind him just walking around.
He shot with malice.
DC voted 93-4 against Trump. I really doubt he voted for Trump.
Inga - funny you should ask.

NO one should trust you.
How many things has Inga lied about over the last 5 years?
How is your Officer Sicknick lie looking right now?
Is there a single thing you have been honest about?
If there is any person who should keep their mouth shut about lying in this world it is Inga.
Most Capitol Police officers live in Northern Virginia.
We do know one cop who voted for Trump.
Sicknick.
Hahahaha, Stephen Cooper put his holy hat back on in between telling people to fuck off, very entertaining!
“If there is any person who should keep their mouth shut about lying in this world it is Inga.”
And then we have Achilles...the guy who says he was right about everything and turned out to be wrong about everything, too funny.

You are such a piece of shit.
“You are such a piece of shit.”
And you are a nutball, who is so consistently wrong about everything that you may want to take lessons from Stephen Cooper who speaks to God and the angels who tell him all the secrets of the universe.
One of the criminals bailed out of jail thanks to Kamala Harris went on to rape an 8-year-old girl.
Democrats doing democrat things.
narciso, when i went to college in the 70s, my Russian professor was one of the closest friends of Kerensky at the Hoover Insitute. They were not special people, and they tried their best, but yes, Stolypin is guilty of what you say he was guilty of.
Hence the protagonist in belys petersburg is a son of a czarist minister like pobedesdenev who joins the social revolutionaries out of social justice concerns
Does a politician raising bail for rioters promote more rioting?
Don't take my word for, it. Search the date for the original. Edited for brevity.

I conclude that Inga is a troll and that is binding for my purposes here. I gave her a chance to prove that she is not a troll, but she proved that she is.

Uh Oh!
The Sky Pilot and the Resident Idiot are taking over the thread. Time to read.
I am currently reading Ben Coes' Dewey Andreas thrillers. He's not Vince Flynn, but he's not bad for escapism.
Good Grammar rule for Feb. 12:
Hyphenate only between syllables and avoid un-necessary hyphens.
Francisco - hey, take over the thread yourself --- seriously, I would be interested.
Cuomo explained, “A third of all deaths in this nation are from nursing homes,” Cuomo said. “New York state, we’re only about 28 percent — only — but we’re below the national average in number of deaths in nursing homes.” He’s done a good job! “But who cares — 33 [percent], 29 [percent] — died in the hospital, died in a nursing home? They died.”
Now that we know Cuomo lied about how many people died in the nursing homes he forced to take COVID patients it is looking more like 50%.
Democrats are just terrible people.
“Francisco - hey, take over the thread yourself --- seriously, I would be interested.”
He’s probably very drunk already. Yuck.
narciso - by coincidence i am re-reading Agatha Christie's "Towards Zero" (1944) with a plotline similar to Bely's novel - early on, the son of a hanging judge is suspected of a crime allegely committed from social justice concerns
Not too far from the truth
Both parents were monarchists and liberal conservatives, being committed to the emancipation reform of 1861 introduced by the reformist Tsar Alexander II; they avoided political radicals and there is no evidence that the police ever put them under surveillance for subversive thought.[14] Every summer they holidayed at a rural manor in Kokushkino.[15]
Too much anger tonight on this thread.

How about a few answers?
How about a few questions?
Discuss.
Lighten up, wake up.
I don't care about Inga.
Why the fuck isn't our "press" asking common sense questions about the stuff that is right in front of our faces?
Because their paymasters dont want them tom
“I don't care about Inga.”
Now THAT is refreshing. Drago cares so much, that I don’t ever leave his head. Drago, be more like boatbuilder!
I see our host earned (garnered) a whole post over at the Volokh Conspiracy. Just a post that says our host has a great take on 'sound and fury' gate. No comment about how her commenters are so much better than theirs.
You are just a piece of shit. Democrats are just evil. The heartbreak of psoriasis. Jane, you ignorant slut!
Inga, you are a disingenuous troll, which is why i don't care about you.
“You are just a piece of shit. Democrats are just evil. The heartbreak of psoriasis. Jane, you ignorant slut!”
Howard, and here I was just trying to get these folks to lighten up a bit. I know this was a difficult week for them.
Inga becomes quite upset when her serial multi-year lies are referenced in threads where attempts to establish herself as the arbiter of "truth".
This is, of course, understandable, given her history of unstable attacks on Althouse.
Best line of the day: “So Project Lincoln proves to be the horror show everyone knew it was.”
Any answers, Inga?
Any questions?
Who "killed" Ashli Babbit?
Aren't you curious?
Stephen Fearby
Then why no witnesses?
Hearsay press reports are shit. If the story is true, get the witnesses on oath as part of the record.
Russia Collusion Dead Ender Truther Inga: "Howard, and here I was just trying to get these folks to lighten up a bit."
You mean you were about to take back your now fully exposed lie about Officer Sicknick being murdered by Trump supporters?
Well, that would lighten things up a bit.
Somehow I dont see you doing that.
Sticking to the long ago discredited lefty lie memes is sort of your primary thing.
Where is Michael K? Hate-troll Union is on strike? He's joined the Chicago teachers Union?
Ken B: "Best line of the day: “So Project Lincoln proves to be the horror show everyone knew it was.”
I suspect we are just hours away from Inga claiming it was actually hawaiian shirt wearing boogaloo-ers who were actually into the young boys and made the Lincoln Man-Boy Cult Project look bad.

Some people shouldn't be cops.
“Who "killed" Ashli Babbit?
Aren't you curious?”
Yes I’m curious. I bet it was a member of the Secret Service who was told they could use deadly force against any rioter trying to breach that window.
I bet it was a member of the Secret Service who was told they could use deadly force against any rioter trying to breach that window.
Secret Service doesn't even have shot to kill orders for breaches of the White House. So it would seem logical, Killing Trump supporters would be OK.
Joe Smith - remember, you are an elite individual who knows how these things work.
Don't get mad that people don't understand.
Nice comment, by the way.
My best guess is he is already middle aged and headed for a desk job.
He might have road rage issues in the future (I hope not), but I doubt he will ever be on the beat again.
Inga at 10:34 --- that is not how it works.
When did Trump know that Pence was in danger
Another missed opportunity for Team ChiCom.
“Inga at 10:34 --- that is not how it works.”
Well do tell how it works Stephen, from God’s mouth to your ear through your fingers, type away and tell everyone how it works.

Stephen, you'll make more headway with Inga if you pretend you are quoting from an Islamic Supremacist reading of the koran.

Guess again. I was managing a 240-room national-chain hotel at 22 years old (working my way through college). He was about 30 (maybe).
The other cop working for us was a total doofus who had just been transferred (and promoted) from one city to another.
I asked a personal cop friend why anyone would hire and promote an obvious moron.
He stated matter of factly, that the old department gave him rave reviews and a great recommendation in order to get rid of him.
He said that was standard operating procedure.
Your tax dollars at work.
And don't even get me started on the cop that didn't get hired because he was too smart.
JS: "He stated matter of factly, that the old department gave him rave reviews and a great recommendation in order to get rid of him."
It is infinitely easier in govt to rid yourself of a feeble performer by promoting them up and out rather than remove for incompetence.
“Gee we don't know? Democrats so intent to impeach, never bothered to actually investigate, gather evidence, create timelines. Because facts really screw up Democrats brains.”
Gee, not so fast.
The Latest: Tuberville stands by account of Trump phone call

Still Thinks The Hoax Dossier Is True Inga: "Trump’s lawyer is either lying or is incompetent."
Yes.
Inga wrote that. Just now. On the day when every single piece of democratical "evidence" was proven to be manipulated lies.
But then again, thats our Inga!
Next up for Inga: Boogaloo-ers manipulated democratical truths to make them look like lies!

Aren't you curious?”
Yes I’m curious. I bet it was a member of the Secret Service who was told they could use deadly force against any rioter trying to breach that window.

And you suspect this....why???
If the S/S role was to get Pence out of the House chamber, why would one of its members go back to kill someone?
Free clue, Inga: "It happens all the time" doesn't work as a "reason".
Today is-for the next 6 minutes-February 12. ! month and 6 days since an unarmed woman was (apparently) shot it cold blood (captured on video) in the course of the most outrageous assault on the government of These United States in our history.
Who shot her?
Was she actually shot?
Who was/is she?
In the age of the instantaneous, the absence of answers is astounding.
The absence of questions is...I have no words.
Joe, you and me are on the same page.
That is how the world works.
and he was way north of 30
Steve--What is his name? Trust me, if he just fucked up I will forgive him.
I understand how the world works...look at Comey, Clapper, Brennan, et al making mega bucks when they should be in jail.
Doesn't make it right.

Poor dumb cow Inga. Udderly clueless.
Better stick to emptying those bedpans, Inga.

Yes that seems to be the pattern, although brennan lost out on some big gigs because of his big mouth comey gets to bloviate further so do mccabe and atrzok.

This pattern probably goes as far back as mark felt whose breakins into radicals homwa were much more agregious than anything nixon had carried out but kind ofstrzok and mccabe pretended to be just concerned patriots.
To woodward and bernstein who kept up the charade to their readers. A few years later the records of felts deeds caught up to him
Steven-
I was kidding.
Which is troubling.
I'm listening.

why suspend the trial? just have them testify now-on live tv.
Too much anger tonight on this thread.
-Working-age Americans dying at higher rates, especially in economically hard-hit states

Chris Van Hollen of Maryland said on MSNBC.'
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/trump-impeachment-trial-witnesses-senate-democrat-chris-van-hollen

"I know this was a difficult week for them."
@stephen cooper:
Derek Chauvin had a bad day at work. His best option is probably suicide.
"It's helplessness masquerading as protest."
I will be fine...more money than I know what to do with.
But my kids will never know the America that I knew.
That's not right.
Do you buy that?
Hint: Neither I nor-I will go so far to say-most of us who are asking the question have any interest in knowing who the person is or in prosecuting that person.
Why doesn’t the press? Which makes it the primary issue in every other case?
What happened here?
Why aren’t they asking about this?
J Farmer - you seem like a nice guy, and that is why you have no idea how easy it is for people who know how to run the world to run the world the way they want to run it.
And don't let those white/non-white numbers fool you. Nixon looked more Mexican than most of today's Latinos. Obama had more slaveholder genes(more than 50 percent) than slave genes (zero percent).
Also, if you think that little creeps like Gates and Fauci are gonna be in charge for much longer, well then you are right to be sad about the future. But you would be wrong.
Btw, fucking sick of black history month ads in general, but especially those featuring far-left commies...
I agree with J. Farmer on a lot of his last two posts, but I feel it necessary to point out that the goose that lays the golden eggs is on life support and is fading fast. Like Joe Smith, I can live this out very comfortably.
Well thats because what do they know of douglas or washington or percy julian its a very narrow slice they know of history.
Joe Smith - life is tough.
Stephen-did you watch the video I posted above?
It would seem to exonerate the anonymous person who you say you know.
May be fake. Who knows?
Any insights? Comments? Questions?
Doesn’t it bother you that nobody but us wingnuts care?
"If you don't want me to quote the Iliad anymore, just let me know."
Don't quote the Iliad anymore.
: )
"Inviting Republicans to also call their witnesses."
Oh?
Life isn't fair, deal with it.
@stephen cooper:
Well the power structure serves terrorists a d rioters disadvantages law abiding citixens

To which goose are you referring?
@narciso:
Farmer,
How confident do you feel about the "college-aged men" floor you mention?
I mean, dry erase board Rove seems to have been aware of concerning behaviors since '08.
Think the age range might have dipped here and there over the years and according to opportunities presented?
The elite don't get together in a conference room and run the world.
Then what is Davos?
@Farmer:
Looks like, soon,
former President Trump becomes the 1st american, to EVER be acquitted of Impeachment TWICE
Think of it. NO OTHER PRESIDENT will have EVER been PROVED to be COMPLETELY proper to be President
Also, He's the ONLY President who had people Seriously consider if he should be President (through the 25th amendment process), and found COMPLETELY Capable

Then what is Davos?
Vanity. Networking.
Virus "burning out"?
Total cases in US - 27.5 M
Previously I have seen estimates that there are from 4-10 times as many cases as have been reported, since most people who contract the virus either are asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms.
That would put the actual totals in the 110-275 M range, which is 34-84% of the population. And 1M+ are being vaccinated every day (although a lot of those likely already had it.) So it could definitely be burning out.
J Farmer said... Those Ohio factory workers should've just done what Mitt Romney did
