Ok Schumer now majority leader. I expect the GOP Senators to stew over this as the date for the impeachment vote approaches.

I guess it depends on whether they want to be re-elected. You really don't understand, do you ? Of course, the donors have needs that trump (so to speak) re-election.

You know what led to ISIS and the destabilization of Syria and the largest refugee crisis of our time? Joe Biden went to Iraq to negotiate a status of forces agreement, utterly failed, the Iraqis kicked us out leaving a military vacuum that ISIS happily filled.

Of course Joe Biden got a 1.5 billion dollar contract for his brother James to rebuild the homes that Joe voted to bomb, so the trip wasn’t a total loss!

Looks like the marxists running Slow Joe are bringing back ALL the Israel haters to run Middle East policy, along with the Yassir Arafat fanboys.

I am not surprised Israel is making the diplomatic moves that they are given Biden and Company will be accelerating Iranian nuke development the same way the democrats accelerated ChiCom ballistic missile development.

This is a great. day for America. We have installed the most blatant kleptocrat in the history of the United States as POTUS. Hillary would have been some competition, maybe bigger, but she lost.

Jaq said...

" the democrats accelerated ChiCom ballistic missile development.”

Oldie by goodie, the Chicom’s missiles kept blowing up on launch and Loral, Bill Clinton’s biggest donor, needed them to launch his Iridium satellites and couldn’t risk them blowing up, so Bill helped the ChiComs fix their problem.

You and I would think that America was better of if China was unable to launch nukes reliably, but that was the genius of Bill Clinton.

The think about these stories that makes them different than the allegatiions against Trump? They are all well documented.

Eh. I liked Trump. I like what he accomplished. Nobody I know is 'faithful' other than to the Lord of lords, and King of kings.

When BLM/Antifa came to our community, our men showed up with ARs strapped to our chests as a deterrent. They rioted in our next door Blue State 30 miles away. Broke windows, looted.

BLM/Antifa had their march unmolested in our downtown. There were a few Blackbloc teenagers, but mostly young, naïve white girls from the Community College. (Yes, we had black mens among us WIPIPO sheepdogs)

The girls' efforts would have been better served if they chartered a bus and protested in Chicago, where people with black skin are murdered relentlessly.

People with black skin move here to escape the maelstrom of CBC* plantation black culture. They self select.

We are racist. Call us that. People with black skin come here. Can you blame them
for running away from the Democrat plantation.

*CBC- Congressional Black Caucus. Overseers for the Democratic Plantation.

Can you imagine that? Protesting where people with black skin are murdered every f'n day.

You are engaging in cult behavior. That’s called “a thought stopping cliche” You say everything I am saying comes. from Q, which none of it has, and then you can avoid thinking about things that might bring your beliefs into question.

I'm bitter and angry. Remember how, in the first couple of days or so after the election, conservative pundits were all saying, well, this isn't so bad, we've made important gains in the house and it looks like we'll have a Senate majority, Biden won't be able to get much done.

Conservative pundits are assholes. We're screwed. The country is screwed. The left is going to steamroll us. As Angel Codivila said today, we're no longer a republic -- as of today, we're an oligarchy. And there's nothing we usefully do about it.

Jaq said...

Inga and Howard are really going to miss Q, but it’s common knowledge that BIden not only flunked third grade, but had an extremely undistinguished academic career.

Biden’s own academic career was unimpressive—he repeated the third grade, earned all Cs and Ds in his first three semesters at the University of Delaware except for As in P.E., a B in “Great English Writers” and an F in ROTC, and graduated 76th in his Syracuse Law School class of 85 students.

This isn’t too worrying because he won’t actually be making the decisions anyway.

I love these little log cabin rail splitting vignettes from our presidents:

In the late summer of 2006 Joe Biden’s son Hunter and Joe’s younger brother, James, purchased the firm. On their first day on the job, they showed up with Joe’s other son, Beau, and two large men and ordered the hedge fund’s chief of compliance to fire its president, according to a Paradigm executive who was present.

After the firing, the two large men escorted the fund’s president out of the firm’s midtown Manhattan office, and James Biden laid out his vision for the fund’s future. “Don’t worry about investors,” he said, according to the executive, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, citing fear of retaliation. “We’ve got people all around the world who want to invest in Joe Biden.

Now it’s Inga using the cult language

A thought-terminating cliché (also known as a semantic stop-sign, a thought-stopper, bumper sticker logic, or cliché thinking) is a form of loaded language, commonly used to quell cognitive dissonance.[1][2][3][4][5] Depending on context in which a phrase (or cliché) is used, it may actually be valid and not qualify as thought-terminating; it does qualify as such when its application intends to dismiss dissent or justify fallacious logic.[6] Its only function is to stop an argument from proceeding further, in other words "end the debate with a cliché... not a point.”[2] The term was popularized by Robert Jay Lifton in his 1961 book Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism, who called the use of the cliché, along with "loading the language", as "The language of Non-thought".[1]. - Wikepedia

StephenFearby said...

OK, Trump's not the President anymore and the recent, second Articles of Impeachment hasn't been transmitted by the House to the Senate for trial.

Dershowitz today in the WSJ:

'Now that Donald Trump is a private citizen, the Senate should dismiss the article of impeachment against him for lack of jurisdiction.

The Constitution is clear: “The president . . . shall be removed from office on impeachment . . . and conviction”—not by the expiration of his term before the impeachment process is complete. It also mandates that “judgment in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal and disqualification“—not or disqualification.

When the Constitution was written, several states allowed impeachment of former officials. The Framers could easily have included that provision, but they didn’t. They also explicitly chose to prohibit the British practice of trial by legislature—excepting only impeachment—and “bill of attainder,” any punitive legislative act against a specific person.'

https://www.wsj.com/articles/no-you-cant-try-an-impeached-former-president-11611167113

IMO, this matter will likely be dealt with by appointment of a commission that will be tasked with finding (among other things) "What did the FBI and the Capitol Police know about the impending attack on the Capitol, when did they know it, who did they inform about it (including the White House) and why didn't they take effective steps to thwart the attack."

Along the lines of the 9-11 Commission (which took a year to get started and almost two years to produce). Par for the course in bureaucracy:

"The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (also known as the 9-11 Commission), an independent, bipartisan commission created by congressional legislation and the signature of President George W. Bush in late 2002, is chartered to prepare a full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, including preparedness for and the immediate response to the attacks. The Commission is also mandated to provide recommendations designed to guard against future attacks.

On July 22, 2004 the Commission released its public report.."

Correct.

Bernie Schwartz, Loral CEO. Right around the time Bernie was having his engineers in China "accidentally" fail to secure the technology needed to keep the rockets from going "all 'splodey" on the launch pad, Bernie was invited to sit next to Hillary at an early State of the Union speech.

But here's the worst part: Bernie also made sure Loral "accidentally" "lost" (to the ChiComs) the technology to fully enable MIRV technology (Multiple Independently Targeted Vehicles).

To simplify for the Ingas amongst us, picture 1 ballistic missile being launched and then releasing 10 or 12 highly accurate warheads on precision-required targets.

This "accidental" tech loss accelerated the ChiComs ballistic missile program by at least a decade.

This was quickly followed by an amazing amount of cash, all originating from ChiCom types, to the Clinton campaign via many serpentine pathways.

Her insanity goes back much further than this. A Mitt Romney Presidency was going to create The Handmaid's Tale here in America.

Drago said...

Interesting note: on the morning that Trump mentioned "disinfectants" and "injections" was the morning where he had just spoken to the CEO of Aytu Biosciences about their tecknology and treatment as well as talking to the CEO of a company that had developed some derivative of a bleach-like solution that could be used in nasal passages and the mouth/throat and delivered in spray form.

Every single "journalist" at that day's covid briefing was given that information and, like Inga, simply pretended none of it existed.

Wait! There's more!

Another lighting company had already developed industrial office lighting which delivers UV light in offices (mimicing sunlight) to kill the virus on indoor surfaces.

This is what leads to reductions during summer of virus transmissions when people spend extended periods of time outside.

Inga hates that reality.

Prediction: this coming summer Inga will be praising Dementia Joe for his brilliance in recognizing the potential of UV light against viruses.

Heck, I bet Biden will get a Nobel for UV Light performing in that way.

Obama will be runner up.

Soap is a good disinfectant. The virus is not only fat soluble, but is rendered nonviable with soap.

Why does soap work so well on SARS-CoV-2?
The soap dissolves the fat membrane and the virus falls apart like a house of cards and “dies”, or rather, we should say it becomes inactive as viruses aren’t really alive. Viruses can be active outside the body for hours, even days.

HCQ, for its part, works in two modes.

New insights on the antiviral effects of chloroquine against coronavirus: what to expect for COVID-19?

The multiple molecular mechanisms by which chloroquine can achieve such results remain to be further explored. ... preliminary data indicate that chloroquine interferes with SARS-CoV-2 attempts to acidify the lysosomes and presumably inhibits cathepsins, which require a low pH for optimal cleavage of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein

Zn2+ Inhibits Coronavirus and Arterivirus RNA Polymerase Activity In Vitro and Zinc Ionophores Block the Replication of These Viruses in Cell Culture

Then there is Ivermectin, which has been demonstrated effective in multiple random controlled trials to be even more effective at late stages of disease progression.

Meanwhile, Planned Parent/hood and cross-contamination remain the leading transmission paths and proximate causes of excess deaths.

It must suck to be any kind of statist. For one thing, to actually WANT to be a serf, you have to have a level of self-esteem (in the words of Woody Allen) "one notch below Kafka's." Since
"liberalism," "progressivism" and other forms of State-fellation have a strong sadomasochistic strain (the desire to dominate coupled with the desire to be dominated), to come out more on the "S" side of the S/M equation involves a self-degrading desire to be the Bad Guy: i.e., the one who is initiating force against others. Little wonder that statists have to come up with all kinds of high-minded-sounding shibboleths ("the Common Good," etc.) to put a gloss over their pathology.
