Given how long it took them to steal the presidential election in Georgia, I don't expect them to be able to count it in one night. Have there been any water main breaks yet?

Are you clueless Althouse? Its going to take days just like the prez election. Dem counties will be tabulating mail in and counterfeit ballots for days. It's the new normal = get used to it.

Arashi said...

So who is betting no matter how the people actually voted, the two democrats will win by just enough for the state to deny any recounts? Do you really think that they do not have all the necessary votes ready to get the 'correct' results?

I assume the democrats will cheat enough to win again in Georgia. They have their corrupt machine well oiled there.

Dude1394 said...

It won't take days, they learned a lot since the last election they stole. This one will be over tonight. In fact it will be a landslide for the democrats busting any and all projections.

Balfegor said...

Are they counting mail ballots before or after election day ballots? And how many were in each category? I don't know that, so watching returns come in is completely meaningless for me.

But a serious question about the stacy ads:How does she want you to donate? Is it via Act Blue?

Next week sometime the Democrats will have generated enough votes to win. At that point, the civil war starts. The Democrats are making the same mistake fascists always make. They think they have figured out that if they just cheat enough to win, and then declare it is all fair, that the Republicans will bluster and complain but then accomodate them. Just like Chamberlain and the Nazis. But just like Hitler, they are overreaching, and changing the mindset of those that count. The bullet box is next. I greatly fear it will get bloody before it is over. Well, we had a good run, but we couldn't keep it.

Four candidates, and nobody really deserves to win. In cases like this "None of the above" should be on the ballot and if it wins, the office is done away with - or at least the candidates are.

Brace yourself for the endless round of JFK-like stories of Ossoff being mistaken for a page (I take it there are no more elevator operators in the Capitol).

P.S. Interesting Mark Steyn article about the people who died last year. It's weighted towards Brits and Canadians, but it's surprising how many people just slip away each year. RIP Edd Byrnes, Elizabeth Wurtzel, Buck Henry, also Charles Webb who wrote The Graduate and Steve Bing, the millionaire who was involved with Liz Hurley. If the Dems control the White House and BOTH houses of Congress, Biden has NO EXCUSE for failure to do whatever it is his supporters think he promised to do. In fact, divided government is the best excuse any Democrat President ever had for not delivering on his promises (yes, Republican Presidents could also use that excuse, but Republican voters are like unattractive high schoolers -- used to be being disappointed).

They're smart enough to make the elections close so the dumber amongst us stay interested. The way Hong Kong lost its freedom slowly - same is coming here. Lucy-and-the-football elections. To be followed by Lucy-and-the-football normalcy. For instance, they'll pretend school reform is coming, do a big write-up on charters in NY magazine, but then charters will lose by 1 vote when the time comes to authorize more charter schools. These 1% or 1 vote losses - see through them!!! In DC they can't even agree on whether to open or close the schools. Yet no one complains. They know better. That lack of complaint about total incompetence - that's the measure of true reality.

JPS said...

I voted today, in my deep-blue county.

It was all very professionally run. The poll workers were statistically near-certain to be Democrats, but nothing in their demeanor suggested any skepticism of rather conservative-looking me. The machine printed out my ballot, the scanner scanned it. In and out in five minutes.

My mind remains a bit mistrustful - still remember the "burst water pipe" in early November and the sudden dumps of Biden ballots in the wee hours - but nothing in my experience has been any different than any previous election I voted in.

And I'm going to go way out on a limb here: If Loeffler and Perdue do lose, and I did vote for them, it might not be because the election was rigged. It might be because they're uninspiring candidates who were two of the four Senators dumping stocks after a secret Senate briefing on the pandemic, while the Democrats are really, really excited that Georgia may (damn it) be flippable. Oh, and their surrogates have barraged us with the most shamelessly annoying pandering politcal ads I have ever seen, to the point where my small children know them verbatim. Oddly it is possible for such people to lose in such circumstances.

cfs said...

I suspect the GOP has lost both of these seats. There is a small glimmer of hope for Perdue, but not much. Loeffler is out. Kemp should have appointed Doug Collins to her seat. She is a pretender, and tries to say the right things but you can tell her heart isn't in it.

When the pain of a Biden (then Harris after a few months) Presidency starts hitting people in the purse and when their freedoms are curtailed, not because of a virus, but because it is more convenient for the rulers, I hope they remember how awful Trump was in trying to restore some sanity and freedom in this country. They came after him, and us, with a friggin' virus with 99% survival rate and beat us up with it. They destroyed our economy, our livelihoods, and our elderly, and most everyone said, "Oh, thank you so much, dear democrat governors! This is just what we wanted."

Honestly who even cares who wins this election. The problem isn't the GOP or the Democrat party - the problem is people who could care less that our elections are fraudulent. Have to have your head pretty far up your tush or pretty far down in the ground to think anything about this election is legit, or anything that has happened in the last 4 years hasn't been completely eye opening for half the country. Best way forward I think is to look out for number one, don't support any Dems in any business or personal way, make as little money as humanly possible and sign up for every bit of welfare/aid you can think of. Crash the system - burn it down - it doesn't serve us anymore. Get off Facebook, Twitter, stop buying anything through Amazon. Let the teacher's unions figure out how to come up with the money for their pensions from someone other than the middle class who has been supporting the bulk of this bloated government. Let the people crowing about this that also laughed about the government going after private individuals see what happens when they get what they want. The woman who does my hair now has a rule - anyone who voted Democrat isn't able to get an appointment any longer. This should be fun.

Seems like Democrats are going to eke it out . . so the polls may actually have been right at last. So we're ending up with a marginal repudiation of Trump, more or less the way 2016 was a repudiation of Obama. The biggest difference going forward is that Democrats mistakenly believed they were going to win 2020 in a "blue wave" so, presumably, they have a legislative agenda ready to go, even if they now have to trim around the edges in light of their razor-thin margins. While Republicans were expecting to lose everything in 2016, and were caught totally flat-footed when they won everything instead.

This was in issue that the republicans could only lose at and he make it a focal point of the race. Stable genius. LOL.

Tomorrow us just the first anniversary if Loeffler being seated. At least she got good inside info for stock trading in a pandemic.

“Inga, tell your grandchildren to get out their checkbooks, it's time to party and I love Champagne.”

Whatever you mean by this I have no idea, but it sounds creepy. My oldest grandchild is still in college and my youngest grandchild is 4, so no checks for you. Supply your own booze.

“As it turned out, it was a Blue sweep, it just took an extra 2 months. The Democrats will consolidate all of this in 2022 despite all the happy talk about historical midterm results from the Republican "intelligentsia" - they will regain the lost House seats in California, New York, Florida, and elsewhere, and they will pick up the Senate seats in NC, WI, PA, and probably a couple of others in a complete rout.”

Yes, I think you’re right.

Of course you have no idea what this means, because you, like the rest of your ilk here, have the memory and the associative ability of a slug. I've directly addressed you by name and told you what this means, multiple times, in the last 2 months on this very blog.

Oh blah blah blah, you remind me of that toothless guy in Deliverance who said “You got a mighty purdy mouth”. Why would anyone remember anything you’ve said?

Be careful Inga. That’s the kind of talk that get folk real steamy ‘round these parts.

See what I mean?
Don’t even dare with the “squeal like a pig, boy.” portion of the dialogue or you’ll stir up a frenzy!

You may know about certain geese and bacon, but your goose is cooked re what brings home the bacon re our national gov. Here, the side that is substantially less voted for should govern us, or else it must be fraud.

Duh.

Homosexual?!?!? I thought that friendly local was just helping Ned Beatty button his pants; ala Rudy Giuliani in Borat.

Qwinn said...

I admit to being surprised... I thought the Democrats would do the smart thing tonight and let the Republicans win. Then they could have used that to claim no voter fraud. Might've even worked. Instead they went even more brazen.

Mitt Romney spent his entire airplane trip last night dozing to the loud chants of "Traitor! Traitor!"

Looks like war it is.

I'll be in DC in a few hours. 5 buses leaving from Bucks County PA alone. My nephew joining my wife and I this time.

Anyone else coming?

@Quinn
We’ll be there!

TeaBagHag said...

Damn, Qwinn. I thought for sure we had a foolproof plan with the Antifa printed ballots, Pol Pot poll watchers and our Chinese software in the voting machines. Damn. You got us. You Qwinn. You and the other MAGAt YouTube scholars are more sophisticated, honest and smarter than our entire collective legal branch of government, that have refuted this no see in dozens of frivolous cases.
Fuck. But war? It’s gotta be like that?
Ok. Good luck, little buddy. Don’t forget to pack a sammy!

Keep spiking the football over an overwhelmingly fraudulent election, assholes.

Keep it up.

A switch, not a dial.

A majority, if you can keep it.

While one doesn't need to be alive to vote Democrat, one does need to remain alive in order to vote in a majority. When the extremist overreach begins, we'll look back on the beginning of 2021 when people only protested noisily outside of legislators' houses as the halcyon innocent days.

Readering said...

Well at least these comments reflect acknowledgment that only loons like DJT still speak of Trump victory 2020. But since folks like Quinn claimed victory for weeks and weeks, they should be ready to observe overdue victory celebrations now.

stevew said...

As has been said many times, protests are a pointless waste of time. Wake me when you do something that actually makes a difference. All the marches and protests the Democrats put on accomplished nothing. What worked is the using government power to investigate and harass PDJT, to crater the best economy in decades, and to change the way votes were cast and counted in their favor. And other things.

What are you going to do to counter that? Write and shout, "Not my president!"? Post angry comments here?

Your doom and gloom future ignores two facts:

(1) The Democrats are idiots. If you don't think it's possible (and likely) that the democrats fuck everything up, you must have just started paying attention yesterday. There are no Harlem Globetrotters in the mix here. It's the Washington Generals on both sides of the court.

(2) Pretty sure 2022 will be using new election maps, democrat states will be losing seats, and the GOP controls a lot of the redistricting process. We don't even know what the district boundaries will look like.

Everyone blaming Trump, Mitch, Never Trumpers, or crappy candidates should realize that none of those blocked credentialed monitors from overseeing absentee ballots and verifying signatures in Fulton County.

This was preordained. Einstein on insanity.

Lurker21 said...

True, but other growing states have become or are becoming Democrat states - Virginia, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia.

Republicans will bounce back in 2022 because of discontent with the Democrats, but the loss of seats in New York, New Jersey or Illinois doesn't necessarily mean Republican states will pick up those seats.

Sure they’ll fuck everything up. But I’d doesn’t matter. They will use goon squads to beat the populace in to submission. The ones they don’t kill any way.

Joe Biden is a corporate whore centrist,

One of big self-delusions on the left is that being a "corporate whore" is a meaningful distinction. Both "corporate whores" and the left wingers who deride them base their entire governance philosophy on controlling productive output for their own benefit. The fact that one desires direct control while the other exacts tribute in exchange for protection does not matter much. Both forms protect the existing favored businesses at the expense of future development in exchange for control and power.
