August 2020: "The United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) today announced that the UA Political Engagement Committee (PEC) has concluded its endorsement process with a decision to endorse former Vice President Joe Biden for President.

“We’re not going to sit on the sidelines at the UA. This endorsement is about putting UA members to work and fighting for fair wages and good benefits. Under a Biden Administration, that’s exactly what we’ll get,” said Mark McManus, General President of the United Association.

January 2021 (After Biden cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline):

“In revoking this permit, the Biden Administration has chosen to listen to the voices of fringe activists instead of union members and the American consumer on Day 1.... Sadly, the Biden Administration has now put thousands of union workers out of work.” said Mark McManus, General President of the United Association.

Stocks were spooky today. NDX +200, then -150. Then positive. TXN and JNJ tomorrow; AAPL and TSLA Wednesday. There's not an inch left in them for a disappointment. The Biden bear market is the one thing that can make a lot of people hate the Democrats. The Democrats wanted to run everything and they got it, by crook and by crook, but it's so unlikely to be what they were expecting. A little change in direction and justice will be served yet.

@Althouse, snark aside, I believed on Election Day that the only way to achieve "normalcy" and have our politics become boring, was for a massive Trump victory coupled with Republican control of both houses of Congress. Only then, I believed, would the Democrats wake up, send word to their mayors and governors that the violent mobs burning their cities needed to be suppressed, begin working with the President to share in the credit for American prosperity, and generally become sane again.

Nothing since Election Day has changed my mind. I'm sorry you didn't see it the way I did.

Joe Biden has supported starting many wars. Easily double digits.

And he has made sure we lost as many of those wars as possible.

I fully expect this administration to "fight" against China somewhere in a "hot" proxy or even head up war.

I also fully expect Joe Biden, the neocons, and their Chinese paymasters to find a way to make sure the US loses that "war" in a humiliating fashion.

Mao Tse Lung new infections are sinking like a greased safe across the US.

The Idaho Statesman, McClatchey rubbish, leads its daily infection count with a panic-porn video from early December warning of impending crisis standards of care. Which didn't happen, and won't.

While failing to mention that in the space of a month, new infections are 25% of the peak. Despite mandates remaining unchanged, and the fairy-tale holiday spikes.

In the NYT, Why Vaccines Alone Will Not End the Pandemic, which is a scientismical article with many nonsenses like this:

... vaccines alone are not enough, the model shows. And if precautions like working remotely, limiting travel and wearing masks are relaxed too soon, it could mean millions more infections and thousands more deaths.

(Pro-tip: the NYT paywall is easily defeated — reload the page, then stop the reload within a second or so.)

The graphs in the article, dated yesterday, were already wrongness on stilts the moment that idiocy was published.

Hello, herd immunity. It is coming to state near you, and the one you live in.

To be fair to the person who killed Ashli Babbitt, he is on record in the Daily Mail as saying he would not have shot her if he had been aware that there was a tactical team of fellow law enforcement officers right next to her group of protesters, who were trained to handle situations like that.
He probably won't be charged for a felony, or even a misdemeanor. Probably will be subjected to administrative discipline, but no more than that. His commanding officer (he was a Capitol Police officer, so his commanding officer was the Chief of Capitol Police) has resigned.
There are a lot of cities where protests were handled much worse last summer.

Heavens no! Mark is a religious man as you can tell from his comments - well perhaps only from his Blogger self-description where it becomes obvious that he would never lie or distort facts except in the wildest way.

"I have been an instructor of religious education since 2006, focusing mainly on preparation of young people and adults for the Sacrament of Confirmation. In May 2010, I received certification as a Master Catechist by the Diocese of Arlington."

So Mark and Joe Biden are joined by their Knights of Columbus memberships. Sing along: M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E . . .
