I’m a partisan, I admit it, and I was loathe to give Clinton or Obama a chance. But I didn’t despise either of them on a visceral level. Biden I do. I'm retiring at the end of next month. It won't be hard to live comfortably (debt free) in the 12% tax bracket. That will cut the taxes I pay each year by a very large amount. Why continue working to earn money I don't need and pay taxes to a corrupt government when there is an alternative? As for Biden, I intend to treat him with the same courtesy and respect Democrats have shown to Trump for the past 4 years - none. Over the next four years, three of my grandchildren will come of age to join the military. I intend to actively discourage them should want to enlist. In a banana republic, the military is the protector of the government, not the people.

Basically, Biden is saying that behaving as the Democrats did for the last four years was wrong. And basically he is saying that all the critical race courses are wrong, Americans are and always have good decent people holding up the torch of democracy, a light to the world. He would be cancelled if he said the same on any editorial page or on any campus. We should quote him in refuting critical race theorists or in defending free speech. Hold them to their rules.
2020 will become known as the year America lost its soul -- at least rhetorically. Did "the soul of America" become a cliche in record time or was it already half-worn out -- something you'd expect to hear in a truck commercial more than anywhere else?
