Attorney General William Barr has appointed (back on October 19) John Durham as Special Counsel to investigate Obamagate, in order to keep the investigation alive regardless of the results of last month's election.

Read the link. That's Barr's expressed reason. As the article also points out, if Biden fires the special counsel (or has him fired) good reasons other than the investigation itself must be proffered.

Says who? I don't see why Biden can't just fire him without any real reprocussions. Democrat presidents enjoy special treatment by the press after all.

Some hold the opinion that a Special Counsel cannot be a government employee. It must be appointed from outside. Good lawyers here can suss this out for us. If true, then Barr is throwing some serious shade, and Durham will not last past the inauguration. This feels like trying to appease conservatives. If Durham couldn't bring charges in September, I cant think what would move him now.

Once again, the appointment was made back on October 19 — two weeks before the election. Your comment (and some other here) strike me as reverse sour grapes: looking for the down side in everything. Jesus!

I will recommend anyone looking for Business loan to Mr Benjamin who helped me with a Four Million USD loan to start my  business and it was fast. When obtaining a loan from them it was surprising how easy they were to work with. The process was fast and secure. It was definitely a positive experience.Avoid scammers on here and contacted Mr Benjamin On.  247officedept@gmail.com  . WhatsApp...+ 19893943740. if you are looking for a business loan.

He is daring Biden to dismiss Durham, an act that will further expose the duplicitous hypocrisy of the media and the Left, but in the end will make no real difference in anything.

There is no path to success. Our best hope is to minimize the damage of a Harris presidency.

My most leftist, activist sister tells me she listens to a podcast that she doesn't recommend for me "because it has a very lefty bent in its commentary about how to right societal wrongs". She's correct, of course, because I don't presume to tell others how to right societal wrongs, whatever the fuck they may be. Perhaps I'll suggest the Althouse podcast?

I'm sorry. I'm staring into the mental health abyss. I hope this helps someone. I have asked numerous health care professionals, and there is no yellow-brick-road through the process. My wife is a health care executive. I should have the answers. I don't.

A very close relative has fallen into the 72-hour-involuntary-commit. She has called the police too many times, and the police have found her wandering the neighborhood too many times. She was sucked into the vortex on Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Of course, Thanksgiving has interfered with that 72 hour involuntary-commit-clock. After the fact, we learn that the 72 hour clock has expired, and there are public proceedings not widely advertised. After the proceedings in public, the transcripts are confidential.

She was assigned a public defender for the hearing after the 72 hour clock ran out. The public defender recommended a continuance, and she accepted a continuance. I'm not sure where this goes.

The continuance appears to be an effort to find a compromise. Can we find some way to communicate before the courts declare you incompetent?

Yeah....I don't know how long that clock runs.

The new Supreme Court case out of Pennsylvania looks interesting. I assumed the plaintiffs had no shot. But the petition makes a pretty good argument that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court had them in a Catch-22: if they challenged Act 77 (adopting no-excuse absentee balloting, allegedly in violation of the Pennsylvania Constitution) before the election, they would have lacked standing under Pennsylvania Supreme Court precedent (as they hadn't been injured yet); but when they challenged Act 77 after the election, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court said they had waited too long to bring their challenge. Placing them in that Catch-22 violated their due process right to bring their legal claims to court.

The election was stolen. No question about it. There isn't any way that Trump increased his vote- putting the lie to the media reports of Trump defectors, and at the same time- Biden received even more votes in just the areas needed to pull off a win. Without campaign appearances, or even a campaign.

Now the question is- can Trumps political/legal team- for they're functioning as both, pull off convincing legislators to take control of the electors and declare them for Trump because of the obvious fraud? Well, let's say he doesn't What happens then?

Well, providing Biden lives until inauguration day, his newly appointed attorney general immediately orders the arrest of Trump and his entire family. This is what the left is demanding. And more than just the left- influential Democrat donors and politicians. And what happens after that? Nothing? I think the left is deluded if they think violence won't break out after that. Targeted violence. From lone wolfs with nothing else to lose- because if they go after Trump- they're going after all Trump supporters. They've already announced their plans. Should we not believe them?

As soon as Kamal takes over she'll double down.

The only "evidence" of fractionalized votes in the 2020 election that I have seen was a piece written by some fucking idiot who did not understand that the JSON files supposedly made by Edison are not output files from Dominion software. As far as I know, Edison Research still has not made any statement about where they get their data or how they process it. I would assume that the users of their service, such as NYT, have full documentation. But they don't seem inclined to make it public. Probably just drawing out the suspense to sell papers, right?

It's easier, more effective, and more passive-aggressive to do than that. And it can be blamed on COVID. If warehousers and truckers refuse to perform deliveries and pickups into Philadelphia, Detroit, Atlanta, Phoenix, and Milwaukee for a few weeks because "COVID HOTSPOTS!" things are going to go downhill really quick. And as has been mentioned here, power supplies to large urban areas are very vulnerable to simple "hunting accidents."

Picture a guy wearing a Mack truck hat saying to an Antifa guy "Hold my beer and watch this..."

Involuntary commitment standards vary by state. My completely unprofessional, non-legal advice:

(1) Get her PD on the phone
(2) Talk to the staff at the facility that is holding her. They should have a staff psychiatrist or clinical psychologist who should've conducted an evaluation by now.
(3) Seek out lawyers or firms in your area who specialize in healthcare law
(4) This link provides individual state legal 0informatison
(5) This link has a variety of crisis resources.

Good luck.

No newspaper is in the business of selling newspapers. The paper isn't the product, and the reader isn't the customer. The reader is the product being sold to the customer, advertisers.

Was it schizophrenia? Search on this "housing for schizophrenic adults " for your area. Talk to them. Out of that should come some directions that fit your emotional and financial resources.

There are significant resources available to her. She has a husband, and the mortgage was burned a long time ago.

That's the really scary part. She goes into the system, and you have no idea WHERE the system will kick her out. Furthermore, the courts assumes you might be part of the problem.....especially if there are significant resources involved!!......and then the health system is compelled to withhold information.

Joseph Heller called it "Catch-22".
