The obscure mathematical argument is that if you throw a dart at a slide rule, the odds get you a number starting with 1, then 2, etc. Same with lists of numbers that come up in real life. If they don't do that, they're made up.
Metaphors have a tenor and a vehicle (I.A.Richards named these things that needed naming). A metaphor is a true metaphor (not dead, a transfer, like leg of a table) if it involves a pregnant use of the term for the vehicle.
Rhhardin unleashed. My old man used to write programs that demonstrated the non randomness of random number generators. I guess it mattered in liquid fuel rocket engines.
Podcast question: today's and yesterday's podcast ended awkwardly. They went silent without a ending, except maybe the loud sound of paper being rapped on a table (same as Scott Adams). I thought maybe my phone cut out, but replaying seems like Ann was cut off before finishing? Never the less, your conversation feels like you are talking to me personally, which keeps me returning. thanks

The Accountant (2016) goes into the statistical difference of made-up numbers vs real ones. Good flick, has art in it.
Women are very sensitive about people talking about women's rule by feelings.
Buttigeig should get ambassador to Iran, when that post comes up.
The associations of words are a resource, not a problem. Wm. Empson, The Structure of Complex Words, is a whole book about it.
Surely it's a front door or back door of sexual favors, not a side door.

Speaking of the old man, his all-time favorite TV show was My World and Welcome to it. Of course it was immediately cancelled.

Too subtle perhaps but they ended right where I chose.
I could add the music snippet but it came in too loud and bothered Meade. .
