If Trump can't pull Arizona back into the win column, and the updates from Arizona today don't really support him doing so now, then there is no path to victory without overturning at least three of the losses in WI, MI, PA, and GA. He is basically drawing to a one outer in a deck of cards with about 300 extra useless cards tossed in just for fun.

I would love to see all those states recounted with a forensic team recording and analyzing everything- I am absolutely certain the Democrats cheated on a truly unprecendented scale- there are just way too many anomalous things that specifically happened in WI, MI, and PA that just didn't happen anywhere else in in similar demographics in OH, IA, or even VA, for that matter. Biden winning the absentee vote in PA the last 3 days, for example, at a rate of 80-20 sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the absentee vote anywhere else- the closest to it you see are in precisely WI and MI.

We know they cheated just as surely as the Russian hoax and impeachment were scams. This is not in dispute and I'm sober about it. Its going to be hell wh3en people realize what they've done to themselves, we already know the nation doesn't matter, much less other people.

Trump should continue the legal fight, though. It is important enough to make transparent what happened in the Democratic run cities of Milwaukee, Detroit, and Philadephia, and the only to get that is through federal court. It is time that the voting process be examined forensically under court order- way past time for this. We, as a country, can do a better fucking job than a voting process where you count votes for a month. I would even support online voting with real encryption protocols like online banking. It is either that, or we go back to voting on a specific day and only that day with limited or no absentee voting.

What is going to happen, I fear, is that without Arizona and Georgia, a lot of people are going to try to argue that a recount and examination is moot, but it isn't, and I hope Trump is up for the fight even after he does concede the election at some point in the next week or so. This is different from 2000 in an important way- Gore's people never really argued that there was fraud in the Florida election- his lawyers just wanted to examine overvote ballots at the end and try to assign voter intent based on the other offices selected.

I am pretty sure WI, MI, and PA will be certified and sent to Washington, along with AZ and GA. I suspect there will objections on January 3rd, but none will be upheld, and Biden will be President for about a month before it becomes too obvious that he can't continue as President- the people in the government that he commands will understand it within a week, and probably even before that during the transition.

What the Democrats and the media want right now is to bury the elections themselves, but a recount should be fought for at the very least, and I would want to see what MI, WI, and PA did with late arriving ballots (all such ballots should be disqualified by the very laws of those states).

I cut my ties with Republican poll watching in 2016 when Trump became the nominee. I have friends who continued this year.

In 2016, with my reluctant vote, Trump won Michigan by a total of 10,704 votes. In 2020, Biden will win by more than 164,000. Biden had my vote.

I welcome any scrutiny, any recount requests, any litigation that the TrumpCult wants to pursue in Michigan. It won’t change our 16 electoral votes.

And let me add, walter; you’ve been a real prick, confident in Trump’s re-election. I’m drinking your tears.

I believe they were mixed with the other ballots just so that cannot be done. This is a well constructed plan that probably cannot be undone.

Those of you who are as old as I am may remember the 1960 presidential election. Highly credible allegations of voter fraud were made about Chicago, where democratic mayor Richard Daley ran a tight political machine, and in Texas where Kennedy’s running mate Senator Lyndon Johnson had extensive clout. Johnson had previously been credibly suspected of voter fraud in his initial election as Senator. Together Illinois and Texas gave Kennedy a solid majority in the Electoral College. He would have lost without those two states.

Nixon did not concede the night of the election when it became obvious he did not have the required votes, although he did announce 3 days later that he would not contest the election. My memory is that he said that he did not think the country should suffer from a contested election. I recall thinking at the time that this was both a generous and patriotic act.

Now I am not so certain.

What does seem clear is that, at the moment is that elections in the United States are not transparent, and millions of people – regardless of the outcome – will think that this election was stolen. Which is a shame, regardless of your party affiliation. And there is no reason a better system could not be devised, if the country had the will to do so. For those of you on the left who don’t think that the suspicions on the right are justified, then perhaps you are getting your news from too narrow a range of opinion. Should current results be overturned by the courts, well, it is obvious what the complaints of the left will be, and they will be somewhat understandable. Regardless of what the true legitimate vote was (and I don’t claim to know), this didn’t have to happen and the country needs a better way. Perhaps it is Richard Nixon’s fault. Perhaps if he had contested that election, we would have long ago moved to a system where trust in election outcomes would be higher.

I do know that few of you are Republicans. For those who think the Republicans are just making things up this time around, I offer two modest examples of why they are suspicious.

First, software glitches in Wisconsin moving thousands of votes around as stated by the county clerk of Antrium County: https://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2020/11/06/gop-dozens-of-michigan-counties-used-software-that-gliched-changing-thousands-of-trump-votes-n2579625

Second, a longer description of historical voting chicanery in Philadelphia, told partially in the 2013 movie American Hustle. https://thefederalist.com/2020/11/06/american-hustle-party-insiders-tell-the-true-story-of-how-philadelphia-elections-work/

Maybe we can all agree on the necessity of voter reform in a direction that would improve voter trust in election results. Until then, America seems to have no grounds on which to boast of democracy as practiced at home. It’s a sad day, regardless of your politics.

TickTock said...

That said, I don't think Trump will be sitting in the Oval Office next year....Most of the commenters here are too young to remember such long ago events, but Clinton ousted the primal Bush, and the world didn't end. Such things happen. If your sole chance of happiness depends on Trump being in the White House, you're doing this pursuit of happiness thing all wrong.....There were policy differences between Pitt the Younger and James Fox and between Stalin and Trotsky, but those pairs were on the same page. It wasn't like the policy differences between Pitt the Younger and Stalin. I don't think Biden will be as successful as Trump, but neither do I think he's the harbinger of doom. Biden has been a pleasant mediocrity all his life. There's no reason to believe that at this late date he will achieve cataclysmic failure. The caravan moves on.

If Biden-Harris are declared the winners by Congress, then I hope that all Republicans will give just as much legitimacy to their election as the Democrats gave to Trump's election 4 years ago. You remember: The FBI investigation of the Trump campaign premised on the Steele Dossier, which had been phonied-up by a foreign anti-Trump zealot and bought and paid for by the Clinton Campaign and the Democrat Party; the entrapment of Trump's National Security Advisor; the Special Counsel "investigation" that dragged on until after the mid-terms yet found no evidence of Trump collusion or any other wrong-doing; and then impeachment for a telephone call to Ukraine in which Trump allegedly pressured the Ukrainian Government (apparently a violation of Joe Biden's copyright on pressuring the Ukrainian Government). These are only the highlights. It will be harder for the Republicans, who don't have the Democrats' menagerie of pet "journalists", but the Republicans are smarter than the Democrats (which is why they are Republicans), so they can manage if they try.

A Billionaire, with a beautiful wife, a large family that obviously loves and respects him, a man who became President of the United States on the first try against incredible odds, and a man who accomplished more in one term than most in two.

And you, Chuck? Have you done anything comparable with your life? You know what a loser is? A man so petty that out of spite he would gloat about voting for a severely impaired old man who he knows is corrupt, and who he knows tried to win multiple times and even had to quit in shame from lying and plagiarism, but maybe you were really voting for Harris, who you know put innocent men in jail by withholding evidence, and who you hope you never have to explain to your daughter. You also have no problem with our election system being corrupted.

That is what a loser does, and that's why Trump is not a loser, and you are. The good Trump did for this country will last the rest of your life, and your Biden vote will be an embarrassment the whole time. It's good you are comfortable with it, because we will make sure it stays as your defining, decision The Biden administration will remind us all everyday of your petulant stupidity. Please stick around for that.

I agree. By the Lincoln Project's own definition, it failed. They wanted Trumpism utterly repudiated and the last four years swept away and forgotten about. And wokeness yet again proves itself a loser at the ballot box.

I do think it's wise to assume the GOP will sell out on immigration Lindsay Graham was a member of the Gang of 8. He's always been a guaranteed sell out on immigration. The Republicans were much better positioned to push through "comprehensive immigration reform" after Romney's loss and during Obama's second term. Attempts were made, but Jeff Sessions led the opposition within the Senate to stop it.

Sessions would've been a useful asset to have in the Senate. This is why playing the long-game should take precedence over petty score-settling. For now, we'll have to rely on cold political calculation. The GOP is not incentivized to give Biden any big domestic wins, and amnesty would be among the biggest.

If they had lost the election legitimately they would disappointed, but not angry, but it has been stolen. Their idea of America, which is very important to them, has been stolen, and for worthless partisan gain. They care about that a lot more than they do Trump, and they obviously care about Trump. They will fight, today tomorrow, next year, and until they get back the county their sons, husbands, fathers and grandfathers died for. If you can spot a trend that's already happened, convince people that you can make it happen if they give you millions, and then convince them that you did make it happen, you can do very well in life.

Republicans who voted for Biden this time voted for Clinton last time. The difference is that Democrats directed their efforts -- legitimate and illegitimate -- more effectively in the swing states (also, third party candidates weren't as much of a factor this time).

I doubt the Lincoln Project convinced anyone to vote for Biden, but Biden won and they can claim that it was because of their efforts.

Which is putting the Left in almost absolute power. (They're allowing the appearance of Reps keeping the Senate to be kept because they knew they'd get people to swallow the theft of the Presidency more easily if it led to "divided government".

Oh look:

If you’re from Philadelphia, though, you know his name, and knew it well before 2013. He’s important to the country now because he’s currently under indictment for bribing a state elections judge to stuff ballots for Democratic candidates. Among the candidates he was paid to get elected are three as-yet-unnamed judges sitting on the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court. That’s where President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign has to go when local election officials refuse to let campaign monitors oversee ballot integrity, as has been the case these past few days throughout Pennsylvania.

https://thefederalist.com/2020/11/06/american-hustle-party-insiders-tell-the-true-story-of-how-philadelphia-elections-work/

If you want to be a loyal Democrat, you have to overlook a lot of solid evidence of corruption, from the clearly authentic laptop of Hunter Biden to now this, which I am sure that Twitter will label “Russian disinformation” at any time, and the networks will refuse to cover this, so it didn’t happen.

He got his job as election judge while sitting in prison after paying a bribe of $40K and took “responsibilities” of the office as soon as he got out. Or so he claims.

An Antrim County, the software glitch switched 6,000 votes from Republicans, including President Trump, to Democrats. The county clerk, a Democrat, caught the issue and it has been corrected in that county. Antrim County uses Dominion Voting Systems, according to WLNS.

In Oakland County, another glitch temporarily toppled an incumbent Republican. County Commissioner Adam Kochenderfer narrowly lost in the initial count, only to have a glitch discovered Thursday that had switched over 1,200 Republican votes to Democrat. Once the votes were properly attributed, Commissioner Kochenderfer went from loser by about 100 votes to winner by over 1,100.

That’s the one place they checked.

This election is not over.

We are witnessing the early stage of Biden Derangement Syndrome. Some telltale signs are declaring someone or something lacks legitimacy, opponents becoming enemies. and thinking the only problem with your party is it's members are too mature/responsible and insufficiently aggressive/oppositional.

I don’t see any path to victory for Trump, even though I agree this election is almost definitely being stolen. We need to look past the man we think did courageous work against long odds. The long-term good of the country is not about one man. It’s about our broken election process, which gets worse every 4 years. We will do the most good by taking this anger and turning it towards ballot reform. Otherwise we’re fighting overwhelming fraud, fighting with both hands tied behind our backs, every time. Election outcomes will become less and less respected. Republicans, who have the most reason to be concerned, have most of the statehouses. Stop letting them be useless on this issue. Develop a statement of principles on secure and reliable voting and demand our representatives enact them into law.

There may be more pressing day-to-day issues, but I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say we face no greater systemic crisis than this.

Dang, Farmer, except for your silly comment at 11:27 you are actually making a lot of sense tonight. For the benefit of people less astute, let me point out that even if an incumbent senator survives a bruising primary challenge, he or she will have too many voters who voted against them once (in the primary) and not all of them will come back in the general.

Or at least you were making unaccustomed sense, until you wrote “Biden Derangement Syndrome.” I don’t think you have to be deranged to look at Joe Biden and see a man who doesn’t mind get handsy with young women, some still children, in public, on national TV. I don’t think you have to be deranged to look at Joe Biden and see a man who is personally corrupt. I don’t think you have to be deranged to look at Joe Biden and see a man who is utterly senile. In other words, I don’t think you have to be deranged to look at Joe Biden and see a man who should not be President of the United States.

And that’s the thing that is so infuriating about this fraud. It isn’t just that it’s open, blatant, ham-handed, and in our faces. It’s on whose behalf the fraud is being perpetuated.

Yesterday (Friday) I read Matt Taibbi’s latest article. His analysis of the election clearly overlooks the massive, blatant levels of cheating going on, but then he writes the following:

But among people whose top concern was the economy — 28% of the electorate — Trump won an incredible 80% of the vote.

This is why Trumpism — with or without Trump — is the future of the Republican Party. Because it’s easy to predict that, with Democrats holding the House, and with Biden, or worse yet, Harris, in the White House, by 2022 our economy will be in the crapper and people are going to remember the economy of 2019.

Big Mike said...

Nobody voted for Biden.

I think BUMBLEBEE is sort of right. Many voted against Donald Trump because OrangeManBad had the effrontery to call shithole countries what they are, shitholes. Some perhaps voted for Kamala Harris, mistakenly believing that she is African-American. And clearly there were fraudulent ballots by the metric ton. But no one likes Joe Biden.

Except Hunter.

Maybe.

tim maguire said...

Given his complaints about how much he had to kick upstairs, I wouldn’t assume even Hunter.

Some people are saying the imbalance of support for Biden vs. down-ticket Dems is evidence of manufactured votes. Maybe, but it could also be evidence of voting against Trump by people who generally support the Republican program. A tell would be if those late ballots tended to split their votes or just voted Biden and were otherwise blank. A Biden-only vote would support the fraud theory.

tim in vermont said...

"I read Matt Taibbi’s latest article. His analysis of the election clearly overlooks the massive, blatant levels of cheating going on...”

What’s funny is that a real Marxist should have no problem understanding the election as the reaction of the working class, black, white, and Hispanic getting screwed by the moneyed elites who run the Democrat Party, but he can’t seem to make that last jump, since he is so invested in the racism theory.

Biden clearly lies constantly, Trump gives opinions that people don’t agree with and they are called lies. Trump is lied about way more than he lies, I can’t think of a flat out Trump lie anything like the several examples of Biden lies we had in the last debate, just to name a small set of Biden lies, Biden lies constantly and is lied to his benefit constantly.

Is the New York Times really going to turn into one of those papers in countries run by dictators that has zero interest in looking into stories harmful to the purported new President, is that really their plan?

I think that should Biden win, they will need to prosecute Trump on trumped up charges just to keep their dopamine starved readers and viewers getting their fix, so that they can avoid looking into Biden.

tim in vermont said...

I guess J. Farmer thinks that the Hunter laptop and the news reports of election judges in PA buying the office while in prison and being convicted of stuffing ballots for other *un-named* judges is a “Russian disinformation.” I guess it is of no concern to you that an election worker in Michigan was kind of surprised at the totals in her precinct and recounted the votes by hand and discovered that the election software, which is widely used in swing states, inexplicably switched enough votes to the Democrat to give them the win. And there has only been the one race, re-examined by chance.

Farmer, if you are serious about your concerns for the future of the republic, election security should be at the very top of your list. Or you are just bloviating here hoping for a reaction, and are not really serious about any of the things you say.

tim in vermont said...

It will be very interesting when that software is decompiled and analyzed statement by statement to find the little routine that swaps votes on probably a random basis as far as selecting the votes, but non random as far as where the votes go.

The Dems' reaction to the election outcome has been pretty entertaining, I mean they're clearly not happy but they're trying to pretend otherwise.

This was supposed to be a wave election in which they expanded control of the House, took the Senate (this was set to be a tough cycle for the Reps.), and then use an old and mentally feeble Biden to push through whatever they want.

Instead they lost ground in the House, the Senate will likely remain Republican, and all they can look to is a weak Biden as president. They'll get some stuff through EO but nowhere near what they want and their interpretations will be greatly restrained by the SC.

Anyway, I find initial reactions to be the most honest when political reality sets in (see the first 48 hours following the 2016 election before "Russia" became the excuse) and the initial reaction to the election by the Dems/Media was "What the hell happened?".
