Expect our Big Brothers to instruct Americans that the COVID-19 pandemic is mutating into little more than a bad flu.

The “Biden vaccine” and miraculous “Biden recovery” will have ended the need for Trump-era lockdowns.

And the rioting, looting and arson?

They will all have miraculously disappeared because the disuniter and inciter Donald Trump is now gone.

"I claim we got a hell of a beating. We got run out of Burma and it is humiliating as hell. I think we ought to find out what caused it, go back and retake it."

I'm on board with that. Nonetheless, and being yet mindful of Meade's pep talk to me from the other night, I think the Republic is fucked in the near term, and in the middle term as well. And the middle term could last a long, long time.

But, I'll keep fighting. What other choice do I have?

One way to think about it;

The proposition we are being asked to accept, is that the Constitutional form of government that was established in this country at the end of the 19th century, has as its major flaw the notion of popular election. Fortunately, we are now in a position to adopt a better system, in which our nation's leaders will be chosen by the people who run Detroit and Philadelphia. Can anyone see any drawbacks to this proposal?

I obviously have confirmation bias and possible cognitive dissonance. So this is a sincere question. Looking for an innocent explanation as to why WI, MI and PA stopped counting votes at 1am, sent poll watchers home, and then commenced counting votes again 3 hours later with huge Biden bumps. I can’t think of any reasonable/innocent explanation why this happened at the same exact time in three key states. I am truly open to explanations as I would prefer to believe we have fair and honest elections rather than thinking the worst.

Perhaps my facts are wrong and those things did not happen? And has the Media asked this question of elections officials?

Jupiter said...

ST, I think Hanson may be right about the Covid, although I am not sure these Democrat governors will be willing to give it up, now that they have grown accustomed to ruling by fiat. But the people behind the rioting did not go to all this trouble to elect a Democrat. They are an unholy coalition, and their goals are all over the place. The only thing they really have in common is a hatred for the Constitutional government of the United Sates. The Chi-Coms would probably be content with a Democrat regime, but the others want a more comprehensive form of ruin. Expect the rioting to continue and grow worse, no matter who is declared President.

I think he got it wrong, I think that it goes way beyond Twat. The pig ignorant comments here on COVID are just part of it.

Looking for an innocent explanation as to why WI, MI and PA stopped counting votes at 1am, sent poll watchers home, and then commenced counting votes again 3 hours later with huge Biden bumps.

I think that they (whoever ‘they’ is, nobody really seems to know) war gamed out the election months and months ago and did not want to give Trump the appearance of a victory and had this planned out. It wasn’t just those states, it was also the Democrat controlled counties in Georgia that just happened to stop counting at the same instant. Of course, that’s only an “innocent” explanation if you rule out fraud.

I think my favorite so far is MailChimp reading the mail of pro-Trump organizations and deciding that they “violated terms of service” and shutting down accounts that had huge mailing lists. Oh, and the post office deciding what is true and false in mailings. NoPasaron! getting his facebook page shut down for sharing links that cast doubt on the impartiality of fact checkers on his ‘private’ messages.

Everything Trump tweets comes out as “disputed” but the Russia allegations, which have been thoroughly debunked and were always disputed never got such treatment. If they were honest, the warning would say “Disputed by Democrats."

This is the brave new world that knob lickers like Howard, who has a thing for rich boys and almost zero self-awareness, are welcoming. The whole purpose is to snuff the enlightenment. Social credit scores are coming, you watch. Fortunately for me, I don’t need a job, and don’t need loans, but I feel bad for the young among you. You should probably stop commenting on sites like this if you have unapproved opinions. The future is like those NBA jerseys, the ones. where you get to select from a range of ChiCom approved opinions.

Anyways, I will watch the court cases, but I am not going to get involved in the back and forth when so much misinformation is flying around all but impossible to fact check. This site is a dialogue of the deaf.

Re, masks, there isn't much evidence one way or the other, but they certainly aren't a miracle cure for covid-19 transmission. If they were, we would see a much larger effect in response to mask mandates. When effects are small, all sorts of minor variables come into play: culture, mask discipline, humidity, etc., etc., and it is impossible to separate them out. So wear a mask if required, but it probably doesn't make much difference.

same day voter registration is one (ONE) way the left cheat.

"Same day registration. This is where the majority of voter fraud takes place. In Minnesota, 500,000 people typically register to vote on election-day in presidential election years. No verification of their eligibility is done prior to irretrievably counting their ballots. After the election, counties send a postcard to the address that the voter claimed on election-day. Following the 2008 election, the state couldn’t confirm the addresses of 17,000 voters and 31,000 other voters were marked “challenged” because they failed one or more eligibility checks. The ballots of all 48,000 of these questionable voters counted in the election Al Franken won by just 312 votes."

And universities will hold seminars about the danger and downsides of uncontrolled civil unrest.

This will occur about the same time as NPR starts running pieces about multiculturally correct medical professionals who have been looking into it and have discovered that Covid-19 really isn't so bad, unless you are very old or have co-morbidities, so we can all get back to normal.

We need to know that our system of electing leaders is trustworthy if we want to move forward as a Union. If it turns out there was minimal fraud around the edges all the better for the Dems. I also saw mail in ballots received at the polls that had no creases in the paper, which seems impossible if they were mailed either way, let alone both ways. I would just like a reasonable explanation for just half of the incredibly suspicious evidence we have already, and that's what we have with Dems restricting access wherever they can. How much you wanna bet that many of the bogus mail in ballots already counted will somehow disappear before inspection, just like thousands of emails, and dozens of cell phones seem to do when certain people get investigated. "We've been mandated to wear our fucking masks since June and just yesterday we had the highest case count yet in Washington state.

The fucking masks don't fucking work. So you just let me know when this gets too hard to understand."

Since April here, a few weeks before the first surge in cases.

But forget the actual results in the real world, because there are studies somewhere that say different. Of course there are studies that dispute that too, but what about that one study that makes me feel right, and entitles me to be a jerk to other people who don't want harassed everywhere they go to participate in another government theater show.

Let the calls for healing begin. If Trump would only concede the election. Utter bullshit! The most divisive thing that could happen to the nation would be for him not to challenge the cloud of fraud that has been building for decades. Without some surety that the voters can trust our elections things will only become worse. Trump is doing his best to end either the practice (1/2 the country) or the suspicion (1/2 the country) of voter fraud although I'm sure he would prefer to expose fraud. We need to know that our system of electing leaders is trustworthy if we want to move forward as a Union. If it turns out there was minimal fraud around the edges all the better for the Dems. Why would anyone who thinks the Republic is a good thing not want this cleared up? I do not want Trump to be the last American President.

With regard to Howard (one who insults as an MO), he sounds like a person who is a lifelong sufferer of "shortness."

Let the inane insulting response cascade fall!

Why do I bother? because Howard is a flea under my serape.

BTW, Howard is the one with shortness.

The governor of Maine has now mandated masks whenever one is in public, regardless of how close you may be to others. I will not comply. Do your worst.

Yancey Ward said...

Yeah, states like Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota should have had mask mandates like the European countries that beat COVID with them. It a shame you can't get a governor anywhere to impose a mask mandate.

And watch as Europe goes back into hard lockdown- I bet it coincides with a sudden spike in mortality- it would be exactly what happened in the Spring in Italy, Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, and the UK. It is what happened in the Spring with New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Washington, and the city of New Orleans. It is what happened in Arizona in the Summer. Texas and Florida, on the other hand didn't resort to lockdowns even at the height of the Summer case load, and thus didn't have the mortality rates at any point within a magnitude of the northeast and midwest. All the evidence suggest it is the lockdowns that is killing people- keeping them inside all day long with infected people probably is a bad idea, but I guess we will keep on making the same fucking mistakes since people can't admit they were wrong and change course.

Yancey, how many college level math classes have you taken? You know, the ones with word problems where you have to interpret the facts presented and then properly formulate the problem mathematically. You know, problem after problem, both in homework and in class discussion, and on exams, class after class, until the principles of examining the premises of a problem and formulating it mathematically are driven into your head?

I am really curious.

I am against lockdowns myself, except for events that gather huge crowds, especially indoors, you know, just like Sweden does. But NYC got out of control and the corpses were already piling up before there was any lockdown. I was in NYC in mid February, I was at a Broadway play, Hadiestown, and actually sat next to a Chinese guy. I went to crowded restaurants, the subways were all running, there was no lockdown and the mayor said it was racist to not attend the Chinese New Year street festival. I did have a slight chest cold when I got back, and my voice was affected for months, who knows, maybe I had it already, but there was no lockdown in NYC until the horse was well out of the barn. Same as Italy, same as the UK.

That’s gadfly level misrepresentation of “facts/"

I think though that the US has an obesity problem that is likely running up our death counts, and nobody wants to talk about it.

LIke I said, I am against lockdowns, but stick to the facts. People were afraid to go to the doctor, doctors’ offices were always “essential."

Don’t worry, Joe and Kam got this Covid thing down. They know just how to defeat this virus.

Working on my social score. How’d I do?

I got a buddy. He’s mid fifties. Today marks 21 days in the hospital. He is asthmatic. Hung on through the toughest point on his belly and with a bi-pap. He’s on the mend, but I am concerned about the long term damage.
