Turns out that this tech CEO thinks that if Trump wins it will end our democracy because Democrats would get so mad it would start a civil war. Or at least that’s the tl;dr version

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/san-francisco-tech-ceo-emails-10-million-customers-urging-them-vote-biden

But don’t worry, they thought it through and any Trump supporter was free to declare their support and the reasons they disagreed in a public forum in the company. Good employees need not fear.

Until the dandelion plant flowers, it is called a dandelion plant.
When it flowers, then it is a dandelion.

Plants are different from us, each of us is completely human from the very first moment we exist.
Flowers are not flowers until, well, they have flowered.

That being said, the least of the angels among the multitudes of angels who live in the heavens know this:
Nothing that has ever been created is too small to be small enough to not be loved with infinite love by God and God's friends.

I had a dream about that very subject, just last night. Not exactly a philosophical dream, just one of those dreams where literally thousands of your friends from back in the day show up, and say, hey did you notice that, did you see that?

No, it doesn't- not any longer. Are you a climate change denier?

"That chimney is a hundred years old."

We had to replace our 50 y.o. chimney because the mortar essentially crystallized.

Trump is ahead of his 2016 pace in Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nevada, and New Mexico.

John James is leading in Michigan.
McSally is ahead of that Chinese astronaut in Arizona.
Alabama is long since over.

Maine is a bit of a question mark.
Colorado appears to be over performing for Republicans but that could be a loss.

The Senate is safe.

Birkel said...

And if the Senate is safe, it is very likely the House flips in this presidential election year.

Random questions:

Specifically excluding the political realm, does emotion have greater weight than rational thinking in everyday behavior and decision making?

What would motivate some affluent homeowners to regularly put household trash into street corner garbage cans, even when household garbage pickup by the city is standard?

Will our hostess ask her commentariat for a list of Joe Biden's accomplishments?

Has Biden frequently stuttered as an adult? Read sometime this year that he did as a child but have not seen any stuttering in older video clips.

On the coldest days in San Francisco bay area, we are not allowed to use fireplace. Pollutes the air and accelerates climate change.
Naturally, most municipalities have set up quick and easy ways to rat out your neighbor if they disobey the rules.
The systems were readily adapted to notify authorities of quarantine violations.

tim in vermont said...

Comcast doesn’t try to recommend movies to me, and Netlflix does, and yet it’s always easier to find something I like scrolling through the random stacks of movies on demand with Comcast than Netflix, that seems like there are very few movies, because they think they know what I would like and just show me those, I guess.

Here's a 22 minute video of what happened at SpaceX in Boca Chica, Texas, yesterday.

I would go crazy if I only paid attention to politics. But even assuming other people are the same, still twenty-two minutes of what is mostly construction is probably not everyone's cup of tea. But still the photography is beautiful.

Chimney leak? We got it too--the house is almost as old as I am and the big chimney's mortar is crystallizing as OM says, and a lot of neighbors are having the same issue. We had it treated with a no guarantee solution that helped for about a year but now it's back . . .

Oh well, what else are we here for but spending money on the loveranch?

We had some intense but brief rain here this afternoon so no problem, but the soakers are really getting to be problematic. (Don't you love that word?) And now it's blustery and cool.

Here's a linguistic twist: Something long possesses length; something strong possesses strength; but something wrong doesn't possess wrength.

Narr
Until now: "I find your argument full of wrength, sir!"

David Brooks notices the crease in Bruce's pants

Bruce Springsteen and the Art of Aging Well
What the happiest Springsteen album in decades can teach us about Joe Biden, the wisdom of maturity, and the meaning of life

" But, taking a cue from Springsteen, maybe we can achieve a more mature national perspective in the years post-Trump."

"Joe Biden is like one of the fathers in the neighborhood I grew up with as a kid,” Springsteen told me. “They were firemen and policemen, and there was an innate decency to most of them that he carries naturally with him. It’s very American.”

'President Donald Trump is a prime example of an unsuccessful older person—one who still lusts for external validation, who doesn’t know who he is, who knows no peace."

It's time to vote in the Milwaukie Guy household. To make sure everyone votes on times I am going to coordinate and try to drop the ballots off at City Hall by Tuesday.

I've left my completed ballot on the dining room table so the other four voters can make an informed choice. In the partisan races I'm voting straight Republican. Others in the house will have their YMMV.

On the non-partisan races, they will of course vote for my brother. On unopposed races I wrote in my brother for state senator and me for all three positions on the Clackamas soil district. I then made informed choices on at least eight measures which I'm willing to discuss.

I love being a bit of precinct captain in the house. In a last ditch effort to deter my son for voting Biden, he was sort of a Bernie Bro, I pointed to the following personal meme on the refrigerator.

There are decades where nothing happens, and there
are weeks when decades happen.
—V. I. Lenin

You may not be interested in war, but war is
interested in you.
—Leon Trotsky

A vote for Biden is a vote for civil war.
—Milwaukie Guy

I told my son that with what the Democrats are talking about doing with Prfesient Harris is sure to provoke civil war and that I was serious as a heart attack. And, also, don''t crash the stock market and my little portfolio.

Me and my brother [who's voting for President Harris and crashing both our portfolios because Orange Godzilla bad] had lunch with our financial advisor yesterday. I made like 18% since March.

I asked him, should I sell on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, in case Harris wins.

But after watching the debate and Biden's speech today, Trump's two rallies and other data I've been looking at, I'm starting to get Red Wave Fever.

I decided that I'll just take my profits next week and I already have half of it into different upgrade budgets. Then, if Harris wins Tuesday night, I'll find out how fast I get sell out in the financial panic.

Red Wave! Flag flying, fist clenched and a .223.

Like the saying: There are four boxes: the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, the cartridge box.

Yancey Ward said...

At some point, don't we have to start considering the possibility that Harris and Biden are deliberately making this mistake because they think their own voters are dumb enough to be outraged by it? I mean, once can be assigned to error, twice to stupidity, after that, though, "intentional" starts to rise up teh probability scale.

Sure, they both could be that stupid- Biden is clearly losing the ability to assess numbers and reality, but both of them?

Good call on not going on the roof. I don't do that any more, don't get on tall ladders either. A neighbor, early 70's aged, went up on a ladder to clear his gutters. He did the thing you aren't supposed to do: he reached rather than go down and move the ladder over. Fell into the shrubs around the foundation of the house, broke his hip, messed up his shoulder and arm on one side, and smacked his head. Was in the hospital for months and then a lengthy stay in rehab. Nearly killed him.

Bruce Springsteen is an insufferable douche-bag. He hasn't been acquainted with the "working man" in 50 years. What does he know? Says he's going to Australia if Trump wins. That's reason enough for me to cast my vote for Trump.

I’d prefer to live in a world where playing dress up at parties and on halloween isn’t so fraught and things are taken in the spirit in which they are given. Harmless fun is allowed to be harmless fun. Unfortunately, that is not the world we live in and it is mostly the fault of the people who keep dressing in blackface or as Hitler.

"You’ll be shocked to learn there are some serious problems in San Francisco with petty crime. This week the San Francisco Chronicle reported on the seventh Walgreens drug store to announce it is closing in the city since last year. The problem is a wave of shoplifting from retail locations that can add up to millions of dollars in lost merchandise: The drugstore, which serves many older people who live in the Opera Plaza area, is the seventh Walgreens to close in the city since 2019.” - Hot Air
