"People standing out here in your automobiles, you are the ones that built this country."

Said Joe Biden — from the "Drive-in Rally Speech Transcript Broward County, FL October 29."

I'm pulling that quote out of the transcript because I'm absolutely certain that if Trump had said it, he'd have been cruelly mocked.

Trump thinks people STAND in automobiles! There'd be videos of people in MAGA hats trying to stand up inside cars, all twisted around stupidly.

Trump thinks the Founding Fathers had automobiles! There'd be photoshopped pictures of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson driving around in Fords and Chevys.

There are signs at the airport which say "No Parking or Standing". In this context it means the same as parking but while remaining in the car.

I listened to Biden's two "speeches" in Florida yesterday. The first in Miami was 10 minutes, the second in tampa bay was about 20 minutes. Both "talks" were similar and used the same words to cover the same points. Both were rambling and dull and neither audience seemed excited. Both talks attacked Trump, sometimes untruthfully, and gave few positive reasons for electing Biden. Basically, he's going to solve CV-19 because...well just because, raise taxes on the rich, and do something about climate change (which is real, folks).

Its depressing that this 78 y/o senile old fool, who's hiding his radical agenda, and is an obvious puppet of his advisors will probably become President.

I didn't notice the attack on Trump for the airports. Probably because I stopped caring about what the Press says about his speeches. The MSM ignores every gaffe made by Obama, Hillary, or Biden. And goes hysterical over any gaffes made by trump. In fact, they'll deliberately imagine Trump has misspoken, and create gaffes, so they can attack him. BTW, Biden and the press are STILL lying about trump and charlottsville. They know they are lying, but they keep doing it. They are dishonest, and no one should trust them.

New Trafalgar Group poll taken October 25-28, among 1,088 likely general election voters, shows Trump with a 2.7 percent edge in Florida, leading former Vice President Joe Biden with 49.6 percent to 46.9 percent. With the election days away, less than one percent of voters remain undecided.

Mike of Snoqualmie said...

Biden does a "drive-in" rally because he can't get enough people for a in-person rally. The crowd size for an in-person rally are usually just a few dozen. Trump routinely gets several thousand or more. Using cars makes the rally seam much bigger than it really is.

Joe is the head of the Biden Crime Family. Collecting graft since 1970. Just ask his brother, Jim.

Let's get real, folks.

Trump is running against the corporate media, Deep State and business interests that depend on Big Government. They need a name of the ballot and it just happens to be Joe Biden because they cannot sell Kamala, Bernie or Liz.

Leland said...

But like all the mocking, it just circles back on them; sort of like the left mocking Trump about coyotes.

The more mock worthy aspect is a "drive-in" rally. How many people can attend those? I looked at videos of both rallies in Tampa. I'll feeling pretty good about Trump holding Florida.

Biden doesn't have an agenda and doesn't need one. The Dems are figuring on a very short term in office whereupon their real candidate, Kamala Harris, can take over. Biden is just a place card.

mockturtle said...

Dem strategy:
1. Urge everyone to VOTE EARLY, via all the liberal MSM avenues, pro sports, etc. BEFORE the Hunter Biden story gets any real traction.
2. Keep the story under wraps until after the election.
3. If Biden is forced to resign, then...Kamala, Commander in Chief.

raise taxes on the rich,

Since the US does not tax wealth and is prohibited from doing so by the Constitution (Article 2 Section 9) it will be interesting to hear how he plans to raise taxes on the rich.

He, like so many other politicians, and people in general just doesn't get the difference between income and wealth. While they can go together, they often don't.

As for actually raising taxes on the rich, sort or and indirectly, President Trump actually did it with his tax bill a couple years ago. The amount of property tax that can be deducted was capped. Lots of people with huge mcmansions, a form of wealth, are now paying more in federal income tax because their property taxes are over the deductability limit.

I believe that Joe is going to eliminate that "Wealth" tax when he repeals the tax bill.

So who is taxing the rich? Who wants to reduce those taxes on the rich?

Vote accordingly. Well, that and fashion sense of course.

I'm more struck by the word "automobiles". Not a word I hear much in everyday conversation. I would assume that "everyday Joe/regular guy Joe" would've said "All of you out there in your cars..."

Now to be fair, if Trump ever did this (and he wouldn't because he would have had an in person rally) he would have said "All of you people out there in your beautiful cars, so beautiful!"

here's news from Fayette county iowa (as told by gilbar)

for the last several years; more and more (and more and more (and more and more)) houses and farms have been getting Trump2020 banners and signs. By Oct 1st, there were LOTS of them; and in the WHOLE COUNTY, i noticed ONE Biden sign

Then, over the course of a week, SUDDENLY LOTS of Biden signs went up; usually right next door to a Trump sign.
Now, i suppose, that people COULD HAVE BEEN begging for Biden signs for months and months, and on Oct10th, they were Finally delivered. But it seems Much more likely to me, that on the Second week on October, the Biden campaign started approaching people and asking:
"Can we put a Biden sign, in your yard?"
or, maybe;
"How much would it cost us, to place a Biden sign in your field?"

call me biased; but it seemed Weird that the Biden Signs appeared all at once; and the Trump signs have been slowly sprouting for YEARS.
I haven't stopped and asked anyone about their signs, but it seems weird that
a) the Biden folk live next door to the Trump folk
b) the Biden folk all got their signs the in same few days

gilbar said...

oh! there are STILL LOTS more Trump signs than Biden signs in Fayette county

When you stand in your car, Steve, peering out from your sunroof, do you stand on your console? Do you not have bucket seats? It would seem rather awkward to me and I didn't see any evidence in the photos I've seen that people were, in fact, poking up through their sunroofs. Nice try, though...

Saw another part of Joe's rally today. Why does he shout out FOLKS as if the word is a complete sentence? Did the same thing a couple of days ago.
Interesting in a personal way is his story about being a poor boy in Scranton.
We were poor when I that age, but we kids did not realize it. We thought the other kids were rich. Guess because adults in my family did not whine about it.
Kids with bikes, electric trains and shoes without cardboard inserts covering the sole hole were the rich ones. Fact is, everybody in neighborhood was poor, some more than others.

"Steve made an out of character Howardesque joke and caught many by surprise.”

I think you give him too much credit.

You know what I have noticed about the plentiful Biden signs I have seen? Where they are plentiful. They tend to be on public right of ways, like along the interstate, or even on state park land, or the swale in front of a highway maintenance facility. Places where you don’t need anybody’s permission to place the signs, is what I am getting at. On locations actually identifiable with the owner of the properties, Trump is leading in yard signs in my part of Vermont.

Jaq said...

"First it was Biden would drop out,”

Admit it, he should have. We just assumed the Democrats had the country’s best interests at heart. We were wrong, so sue us. Even bin Laden told his men if they got a clean shot at Biden, to lay off, because he was doing plenty of harm to America in office. Plus he was hoping to promote Biden to POTUS with an assassination of Obama, figuring then that the US would be really screwed good.

Cars are "standing" in the parking lot. It's not a "no standing zone." Somebody who's studied "cognitive decline," or whatever we are calling it, would be able to explain the mental transformation of people in cars standing out in front of Biden to people standing in their cars. But still, if Trump had said something like that it would have gotten more publicity and ridicule and even gotten "factchecked." Curious about the "automobiles," though. Biden is part of the Beatles generation, but talks like somebody from the early 1900s.

Suckers!

The Bidens moved into high speed overdrive in 2017--probably while standing in their automobiles. Have you looked at Joe's tax returns in 2017 and 2018? He made $11 million in 2017 from, get this, speaking fees and book sales. Yup, the usual. He got paid upwards of $50K for each of his college speeches and some of those other speaking gigs paid almost $200K each. Here, take a gander:

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/07/09/joe-biden-releases-tax-returns-during-2020-democratic-primary.html

At the same time, his son and his brother were trolling the waters for foreign money on his behalf. Get me some of that China green!

Obama and the Clintons did it, why shouldn't Joe? After all, he's basically a cheap crook. Think about that Clinton Foundation--hundreds of millions from foreigners that dried up as soon as she lost to Trump.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry...but I think I'll laugh.
