I visited my sister in Portland, OR this weekend.

Portland and Oregon in general is a beautiful place. We went downtown for a day and the wealth contrast is pretty stunning. The homeless population has grown dramatically since I was there a couple of years ago, but housing prices are astronomical. A 150K house here in the Detroit Metro area goes for 500K in Portland.

The politics is what you would expect. We walked around east Portland, checking out the open shops and restaurants. It's vibrant and youthful, but decidedly hostile if you're not 100% down with BLM and ACAB.

It looks like the mayoral race will be interesting to watch. I think the commie is going to win. It will be as interesting to see if the polity follows through with their abolishing the police mantra, which is everywhere in graffiti and stickers.

Oh and 20 minutes outside of Portland, there's plenty of Trump support. Was surprising to me.

OK, so Hunter took a lot of money from a lot of shady characters. Those characters didn't give it because they like Hunter.

So, did he give any of it to "big guy" Joe? Even with my low opinion of Biden, I find it hard to believe. The Clintons were more crafty, setting up a foundation to launder foreign bribes and all.

But if Joe did get a percentage, there's gotta be some kind of record. There's gotta be some kind of discrepancy between his official sources of income and his net worth. Who's looking into it? Where are they looking?

So now we wait to find out if the worst rumor of all will be publicly alleged as well (yes, what I wrote above is not the worst rumor of all...if you can believe it).

The worst rumor of all involves alleged child torture by our intrepid crackhead Hunter.

Of course, it is now clear why the combined and politically aligned might of the democrat party, our own deep state intel services, Big Tech and Big Media now transparently operate as a single entity to shut this story down.

Worst of all, these types of abuses are likely the very reason so many FakeCon LLR's have joined with the totalitarian left.

So it's here I first heard about the Trump bank account in China. Which is a corporate account in China for one of the many Trump businesses. So it's a big "so what?" to anyone who knows how business works. I've always had at least two accounts- a local one and one at NFCU. Now that I can deposit checks from my phone with a mobile banking app I'm figuring out how to untangle everything from the local account. Doesn't work that easy across national boundaries.

Just a few American companies that have accounts in China- because they operate in China:
https://www.thebalancesmb.com/china-largest-retail-chains-2892250

A further study of Trump corporations will show accounts in multiple countries. It's the nature of business. As for personal accounts outside the USA, I'll bet anyone here Trump doesn't have any. But I wont bet that Biden doesn't have a Cayman Islands (or equivalent nation with strict banking secrecy laws) account.

Another way I spend my time ...

the baseball guys did a good job tonight with the first game of the World Series.
No racist nonsense before the game that I could see --- the first ball was thrown out by a nurse who was a Covid-19 first responder - and the catcher was her husband, another first responder.

Want to hear some trivia questions YOU PROBABLY CAN'T ANSWER (I can... I don't think you can. I would love to be proved wrong ....)
think about this:For the first time in baseball history, the World Series started tonight with more than 50 players on the two teams.

There are more than 60 people on the rosters of those two teams, combined.

Here is the trivia question you probably can't answer: What was the last year where a player who was in the starting lineup in the first game of the World Series was someone whose father was a combat veteran of WWII? (remember, the average 27 year old - which, year in and year out, is the average age of a starter on a World Series team - the average 27 year old was, on average, in the USA of yesteryear, 30 years younger than her father (well this is world series baseball we are talking about, so "his father" is more correct - a little less than that ( a little less than 30 years younger) in the 50s and 60s, (a little more than 30 years younger) in the 70s and later)) ---- so the peak year for WWII combat vets having a chance to watch their sons be on the starting lineup in a World Series game (average combat vet from WWII was 20 years old in 1945) (which gives us 1955, as the average birth year, when Dad was 30, for the sons of those veterans) (and which gives us 1982, believe it or not, as the peak year when their sons were playing in the World Series) (that is not the answer, but that is where you want to start).

There are still, as we speak, tonight in 2020, lots of American kids in high school whose dads are combat vets who fought in Vietnam. More than you would think.

Anyway ....

Think of what they went through. Be grateful. Or if you can't be grateful, at least try and give some thought to whether or not you are wrong not to feel at least some gratitude. You won't be wasting your time ... well, anyway, you won't be wasting time.
When you think about it, Nobody owns time, or almost 'nobody', anyway (the wind was quiet like a whisper) and to say "wasting 'your' time" is to say something that is sort of what the great writers and saints, bless their humble souls, would have Recognized as a solecism.

The Democrats are going to face a tough choice this weekend, I believe- try to move Harris up to the top spot, or just roll the dice and hope Biden can somehow survive the hits and win.

Let's face facts- Hunter Biden was selling access to his father's office, and his father was taking money by selling it, either directly or indirectly. The e-mails all but confirm this, and there is no really honest way to argue against this assertion. This was true a year ago during the impeachment brouhaha, but the missing piece was the confirmation from the Biden e-mails- you really can't deny it now- that ship has sailed.

Additionally, if Hunter Biden really did have sex on those tapes with underaged girls, his father's campaign is likely to lose catastrophically the rest of the way if he isn't removed ASAP- right now his problems are already showing up in the early vote numbers- it will only get worse.

You need to keep up with the real news, Tim. Ratcliffe works directly for Trump, for God's sake and apparently Rupert Murdoch does as well.

WASHINGTON — Federal investigators are examining whether emails allegedly describing activities by Joe Biden and his son Hunter and found on a laptop at a Delaware repair shop are linked to a foreign intelligence operation, two people familiar with the matter told NBC News.

The FBI seized the laptop and a hard drive through a grand jury subpoena. The subpoena was later published by the New York Post. The bureau has declined to comment [citing its practice of neither confirming nor denying investigations.]

The Treasury Department last month imposed sanctions on four people linked to Russia for attempting to influence the presidential election, including a Ukrainian parliamentarian named Andriy Derkach, who has worked with Donald Trump’s consigliere Rudy Giuliani to smear Joe Biden. According to the Treasury, Derkach has been “an active Russian agent for over a decade, maintaining close connections with the Russian intelligence services.”

Sebastian said...But if Joe did get a percentage, there's gotta be some kind of record. There's gotta be some kind of discrepancy between his official sources of income and his net worth. Who's looking into it? Where are they looking?

Right. We know that Joe got rich off a job that doesn’t pay very well, but they all do. There probably aren’t 5 elected officials in Washington who don’t belong in jail for insider trading. And if there is an accepted route to riches that never leads to prosecution, then why pursue this one, which does?

We know Hunter used his position as Joe’s son to solicit bribes from foreign companies and governments, but that doesn’t necessarily implicate Joe. Hunter seems like exactly the kind of guy who would take the money and do nothing for it. Or make you think you’re getting something by arranging a handshake at a barbecue or reception.

To tie this to Joe, there needs to be evidence that “the big guy” is a reference to Joe or that the “half your money” line isn’t a family joke that doesn’t actually mean anything. So far, neither of these has been shown.

This is an embarrassment for Joe, which may be enough to swing the election, but right now, it’s no more than that.

A story based on *former* officials denied both the the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Justice.

"Ratcliffe works directly for Trump”

You know, all of those former officials that are quoted worked for the most corrupt administration that we know about in our history. What the story should say is that former officials wish that the laptop was being investigated because that would be a good way to discredit this obviously true story.

I know you have gone all in with the crook Biden and this must be hard for you to be faced with the evidence that you have been wrong all of this time, but you must have suspected it when the hard evidence against Trump kept failing to appear.

tim in vermont said...

He is referring 40 former intelligence officials who admit in their letter that they have no new evidence but are suspicious because this is so helpful to Trump at such a key time, as if that were evidence that it’s fake. Also somehow the fact that Trump is behind in the polls proves that these emails are fake.

Here is a question you won’t answer gadfly, why would the Russians who fund their military off of oil revenues, want anybody but the guy who has promised to put an end to fracking? You guys never answer that question.

Is this a situation that calls for 'and' rather than 'or'?

Why would Giuliani risk prison for giving the police fake evidence against Hunter?

New: Rudy Giuliani visited a Delaware police station Monday to share files from what he said was Hunter Biden’s laptop.

New Castle County Police then called the state AG

The Attorney General then called the FBI.

The Delaware police called the FBI because they figure it is Russian disinformation.

Jennings’ office subsequently gave the device to the FBI because the federal agency *reportedly* had opened an investigation into the veracity of claims about the origin of the laptop and how its alleged contents were shared with Giuliani’s team, Marshall said.

They completely ignore the child abuse aspect. Aren’t the police supposed to check this stuff out for themselves? Oh that’s right, this is Xi’s America.
