Not campaigning in states like Michigan and Wisconsin worked so well for Hillary in 2016 that Biden is expanding the strategy to the entire US in 2020.

If you’re tired of lockdowns, or you’re tired of wearing masks, or you wish you were in church this morning or watching college football or your kids were in-person instruction, it is time for change in this country, and that’s why we’ve got to elect Joe Biden. - Gretchen Whitmer

Threatened with continued lockdowns by your governor if you don't vote for Biden? Why do you folks in Michigan put up with this?

The denial of the existence of Hunter Biden's laptop by the mainstream media is quite amusing. Tempers are flaring, spittle is flying and the spin cycle is set at 11.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Toobin is making inquiries regarding how he can obtain the video of Hunter Biden and his niece.

Is it just me, or do politicians speaking from a stage to people twenty feet away seem pretty stupid with a big mask covering their pie hole?

And, you guys see Obama talking at his car rally today? Looked kind of small and old and inconsequential. Definitely should have been in suit and tie to project gravitas, or something.

Obama spending a lot of time with Michelle. Bill spending a lot of time with Hillary, seems to have taken a physical toll.

It’s funny too that Borat is always going on about Republicans taking bribes from Kazakhstan, when it turns out that the anti corruption people in Kazakhstan are more angry at Biden. Of course the truth is kind of inconvenient for the narrative he is trying to create with his material.

Borat is after the wrong political party if he really cares about Kazakhstani corruption, which he doesn’t.

Pictures of Hunter B have a definite Portrait of Dorian Gray quality to them. His eyes, in particular, look older and colder than the big guy's. They show a man who has looked at a lot of bleak vistas. No wonder he thought Beau's widow might save him. Beau tried. She must have tried, too. But the call of the wild is too much for sivilisin' folks, with Hunter. Hunter can't help it, he has to find the wild within. Its farthest edge. And there is always one edge farther, inside the mirage. He cannot annihilate the world no matter how much he tries.

Ms. Pederson asked if there is “any legitimacy” to the statement by Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) that the former vice president’s son and other family members profited off the Biden name. “None whatsoever,” Joe Biden responded

It's odd Biden chose this particular defense that his family benefitted from his name. There's no question this happened with the Ukrainian oil company spending a fortune on his son's salary who had no expertise in the industry. It would have been at least conceivable he didn't know about it, but that's not the claim he made. He's counting on the media to defend him because this sort of corruption isn't that big a deal while also being able to say he denied it. This contradiction is possible only with corrupt media.

Word has it that when Trump and Stahl were completing their 60-min interview, which had up till then been both pleasant and informative, she invited him to an adjacent bedroom to take off those microphones and relax with a glass of whiskey, a bedroom kept just for those purposes. At that point he stood up and told her "I would never, and nor would anyone in my administration, fall for such a tawdry and obvious move to compromise the office of president of the United States."

Given tonight's news that fake Proud Boys e-mails were fabricated by Iran to feed a media narrative to hurt Trump, you have to wonder how much of the other obvious media concern-trolling over "white supremacy" and QAnon is also the product of Iranian election interference.
The Never Trump "Lincoln Project" fell for the Iranian disinfo about the Proud Boys, and called for them to be doxxed and jailed. They deleted the tweet now after the FBI's press conference.

The idiot r/v "forgot" to share that the efforts cited today by Radcliffe and Wray explicitly stated this activity was done to hurt Trump.....which makes Biden the recipient.

And why not?

After all, the wife of the Moscow Mayor, a Putin crony, wired $3.5M directly to li'l Hunter and Joe in order to facilitate the laundering of $200M in cash.

So, Putin has already purchased Dementia Joe and his entire family.

As expected.

Of course, the ChiComs beat the russkis to the Buy the Biden's game, didn't they?

And the ChiCom's spent $1.5 Billion to do that!

Keep Trump and oil/gas prices will stay low. Hillary would have and Ol' Joe will kill fracking and thereby raise oil/gas prices. That's a nice gift to Putin. Russia's bleeding dollars now; they've had to cut their defense budget 5% because there's no money coming in.

Trump is also leaning on Russia's allies, not there are many, such as Iran. The sanctions are costing both Russia and Iran big bucks. The nomenklutara can't recharge their offshore accounts anymore.

So Althouse is sitting out this election. She probably knows Biden is corrupt and a serial groper so she won't vote for him. That's good, Biden is a horror show. She doesn't like Trump's style, which is her prerogative , so she won't vote for him. I'm not sure that I've ever seen her complain about Trump's accomplishments - lower unemployment especially among minorities, peace progress in the middle east, Bosnia and Serbia, and some historic steps in Korea that may have been derailed by the constants attacks on Trump at home. She probably isn't happy with the judicial appointments but I don't remember any complaints.

The question is would Trump's style have been less abrasive if the democrats had accepted his election?

Think about the attacks on Trump: the Russian Collusion hoax started by Hillary, the revelations of spying by Obama, the Mueller investigation, and the impeachment for trying to investigate Biden's corruption. And all of this with the press gleefully riding these bandwagons. How would you expect him to react if he knew none of it was true and that the democrats and press was trying to destroy his presidency? Add to that the direct attacks on his supporters like General Flynn, Mumford, etc.

If the rule of law is not a game but a means for a peaceful society, then I believe are things that you must admit are wrong. If you don't believe, or ignore these, law becomes a dirty game played with no rules. The among the things I find wrong and don't believe can be ignored are:

Hillary's emails, private server, and destroying subpoenaed data.

The whole Steele report and the support it was given by the deep state and the press.

The treatment of General Flynn.

The Mueller team wiping all their cell phones so there is no record of internal discussions.

The impeachment - it seems there is very legitimate reason to be investigating Biden.

The entire Antifa / BLM movement including both outrage for police trying to deal with criminal activity and direct attacks on police.

Direct threats and attacks on Trump supporters - I haven't seen anything about Biden supporters being punched, egged and spat upon, having their hats stolen - if it happened I'm sure it would be on the front page of every liberal paper.

The final question is would Trump's style seem different if he didn't have to fight against the lies, derision, and attacks targeting him. His rallies seem very optimistic and very much "we can do this". But they are (and probably must be) punctuated with counterattacks on those targeting him so we will not know what it would be like with out the hostility shown to him.

Gspencer observes: That old punch line - "Is the pope Catholic?" - is not longer a punch line.

It's now a legitimate question.

Here's what Pope Benedict said in 2005:
'A century ago, anyone would have thought it absurd to talk about homosexual marriage,' Benedict previously said in an interview with German journalist Peter Seewald.

Benedict continued that equal marriage rights, alongside abortion and reproductive technologies were of the Antichrist.

He said: 'Modern society is in the middle of formulating an anti-Christian creed, and if one opposes it, one is being punished by society with excommunication.

'The fear of this spiritual power of the Antichrist is then only more than natural, and it really needs the help of prayers on the part of an entire diocese and of the Universal Church in order to resist it.'

So it's looking more like Pope Francis is the Antichrist. I always knew it would be a pope. But now he's the subject of a full-length movie in which he espouses every Leftist cause. One-world religion is coming. Soon. And it won't be pretty.

Of course, that should be "mask", but Google Translate has its limitations. Of course, we all know why the journals refuse to print it, and I guarantee you that if it were printed openly, you wouldn't be able distribute it on any social media, which is why the authors are trying for a mainstream journal. Perhaps the biggest and probably most consequential October Surprise (so far):

Hunter biz partner confirms e-mail, details Joe Biden’s push to make millions from China: Goodwin

By Michael Goodwin October 22, 2020 | 12:42am

Full statement from Tony Bobulinski to The New York Post

"My name is Tony Bobulinski. The facts set forth below are true and accurate; they are not any form of domestic or foreign disinformation. Any suggestion to the contrary is false and offensive. I am the recipient of the email published seven days ago by the New York Post which showed a copy to Hunter Biden and Rob Walker. That email is genuine.

This afternoon I received a request from the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs and the Senate Committee on Finance requesting all documents relating to my business affairs with the Biden family as well as various foreign entities and individuals. I have extensive relevant records and communications and I intend to produce those items to both Committees in the immediate future.

I am the grandson of a 37 year Army Intelligence officer, the son of a 20+ year career Naval Officer and the brother of a 28 year career Naval Flight Officer. I myself served our country for 4 years and left the Navy as LT Bobulinski. I held a high level security clearance and was an instructor and then CTO for Naval Nuclear Power Training Command. I take great pride in the time my family and I served this country. I am also not a political person. What few campaign contributions I have made in my life were to Democrats."

"...I am the CEO of Sinohawk Holdings which was a partnership between the Chinese operating through CEFC/Chairman Ye and the Biden family. I was brought into the company to be the CEO by James Gilliar and Hunter Biden. The reference to “the Big Guy” in the much publicized May 13, 2017 email is in fact a reference to Joe Biden. The other “JB” referenced in that email is Jim Biden, Joe’s brother.

Hunter Biden called his dad ‘the Big Guy’ or ‘my Chairman,’ and frequently referenced asking him for his sign-off or advice on various potential deals that we were discussing. I’ve seen Vice President Biden saying he never talked to Hunter about his business. I’ve seen firsthand that that’s not true, because it wasn’t just Hunter’s business, they said they were putting the Biden family name and its legacy on the line.

I realized the Chinese were not really focused on a healthy financial ROI. They were looking at this as a political or influence investment. Once I realized that Hunter wanted to use the company as his personal piggy bank by just taking money out of it as soon as it came from the Chinese, I took steps to prevent that from happening.

The Johnson Report connected some dots in a way that shocked me — it made me realize the Bidens had gone behind my back and gotten paid millions of dollars by the Chinese, even though they told me they hadn’t and wouldn’t do that to their partners..."

https://nypost.com/2020/10/22/hunter-biz-partner-confirms-e-mail-details-joe-bidens-push-to-make-millions-from-china/

OK, payback for squeezing Bobulinski out of the proceeds of a lucrative China deal.

I want to make a strong books recommendation, especially if you're into alt-history. The authors are Newt Gingrich and William R. Forstchen.

Their first trilogy was about the Civil War: Gettysburg, Grant Moves East and a third. I'm reading it for the second time, it's such an enjoyable read. The basic premise is that Lee takes Longstreet's advice, defeats Meade at a second engagement and the ANV wins. Spoiler alert. In volume 3 the Union wins.

I just read the first two volumes of their Pacific War. With a 1st volume buildup going back to the 30's, we're barely at Dec. 10, 1941. So far I haven't heard when a volume 3 coming.

The cool alt-history counter-factual is that Yamamoto replaces Nagumo as the Combined Fleet admiral.

After a year-long excursion into the belly of the beast, Dr. Jordan Peterson emerged this week and was dismayed to find millions of Americans worshipping at the altar of a golden Karl Marx statue. Overtaken with righteous anger, he smashed his stone tablets containing 12 Rules for Life into tiny pieces.

"Hey there, bucko! Woe unto thee, eh?" Dr. Peterson said to the writhing sea of reveling comrades below, his voice cracking with emotion. "You have sinned a great sin, and I don't find any of these behaviors to be particularly useful! Did any of you even make your bed this morning? I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but you're simply not worthy to receive my 12 Rules for Life!"

With that, Dr. Peterson raised the tablets above his head and smashed them onto the rocks below.

"Now, for this grave sin, and Lord knows it's a bloody catastrophe, you shall all drink bitter waters!" Peterson proclaimed.

Is there "systemic racism" in the Democratic leadership of Wisconsin? Think about this. Elderly, frail members of the black community in Milwaukee and Madison are particularly vulnerable to covid. No one knows why. Does the public health community call on Governor Evers for financial assistance or the University of Wisconsin-Madison for scientific expertise to investigate this, to find causes, and to help these Wisconsin citizens? No. Public health issues regulations requiring the toddlers of LaCrosse to mask up. How will it help the elderly members of the Milwaukee's black community who are disproportionately vulnerable to covid if the sixth grade of Portage La Prairie learns on-line? Why isn't public health solving the mystery of the disproportionate vulnerabilities in Milwaukee instead of assisting in the socialist takeover of the counties by seizing power to regulate the economy during a public health crisis? Covid would not be seen as far more dangerous than flu in Wisconsin, it would not be seen as a public health crisis, if it not were far more dangerous to elderly members of the black community in Milwaukee and Madison than to the third grade of Janesville. So why isn't public health, why aren't the Democratic leaders of those cities trying to help the threatened cohort? This is what racism really is - posturing in place of finding out what the threats to the black community really are today. I don't say racism is systemic in America but I do say racism is, at present, the leading cause for the way in which the Democratic political establishment is handling the covid threat in Milwaukee and Madison. And so history will say.

Because they are likely to be targeted for professional retribution, within the media industry. Working for the NY Post is bad enough, in that depraved media subculture that requires such politico-cultural conformity. Having played an important role in such a politically significant incident is likely to make them unemployable.

Slow Joe wasn’t able to perfect the graft/corruption enterprise the way the Clintons were because Hunter was running the Biden foundation IT department. If they had someone more reliable, and not a drug addict, then they would have known that a key piece is that private server in a closet.....Come on man!!

"t also appears there needs to be a ceasefire in the Birkel, Ken B. and Tim of V Covid wars.”

In that spirit, I am going to accept Birkel’s admission, even though he makes it with his usual stupid bluster, that he had never really read or if he did, never really understood any of the posts that he had inveighed against so passionately in these threads almost daily.

I am going to break this out into small paragraphs so that maybe Birkel can follow it. I supported the lockdowns when the bodies were piling up like cordwood in NYC and Itally, and have advocated lifting them since that time. Once it became clear that opening schools carried little risk, which was months ago, I suggested that schools should re-open, even if teachers were taking a risk, and that teachers who were at risk, by reason of age or otherwise should be offered an early retirement package, you may recall. I remember buwaya commented on it anyway.

Like Sweden, I don’t support having concerts or sporting events yet.https://kfgo.com/2020/10/08/sweden-pauses-plan-to-allow-bigger-sports-crowds-as-infections-rise/. If that makes me a lockdown fanatic, so be it.

As for Yancey, we have discussed that. You tell me how the study addresses the issue of whether masks reduce the spread from asymptomatic people, which laboratory experiments suggest that they should, and I will be happy to listen. The majority of the reason for wearing masks is to protect others, like the lady at the supermarket who is exposed to many dozens of people per day. If she is simply wearing a surgical mask, and none of the customers are, it likely isn’t going to work. Like that recent case in the Vermont prison where the guard was wearing a mask, and he interacted briefly multiple times with prisoners who were in isolation for COVID who were not wearing masks. Masks are more an effort to help others than a sign of fear.

As for that article from Ireland on Instapundit. It’s the purest bullshit. Mask wearing is anything but “nearly universal” in Europe. They hardly wear them in Denmark or Norway, the two countries I have been watching along with Sweden. Italy just instituted a “universal mask mandate” the first week of October, because the virus is getting out of control there again. Paris did their mask mandate at the beginning of September due to a surge in cases that had already developed. It was a tell that the article had no supporting evidence for the claim that wearing masks was “nearly universal” and a quick web search showed why. The US is now doing better than Europe and part of it is that we have had the mask mandates going on in our major cities the whole time.

But he does make one good point. For a lot of people there is an irrational response against what should be for any adult not ruled by his emotions, a simple, low effort, common sense way to try to protect yourself and mostly to protect others.

Were mask wearing *is* nearly universal, COVID is under control, but I know those are Asian countries like South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. But lets ignore those because Asians, who not coincidentally have higher average IQs than us.

Ceasefire? We don't need no stinkin' ceasefire.

My favorite Forstchen books are his "Lost Regiment" series wherein a New England Union regiment somehow sideslips into a parallel world full of terrorized humans under an apex predator species. Luckily they are all 'can-do' Yankees of the best sort..

Unfortunately he got caught up in the, presumably much more lucrative, work with Gingrich and has never finished the series.

I just posted about this, and your comment showed while I was typing. I wrote him back when the books first came out and suggested he contact a comic book company and do a graphic novel adaptation. I still have his reply.

Perfectly Clintonian non-denial denial.

Perhaps one of the girls was 10 years + 1 day old. So, not "under age 10"!! All is well!

Sigh....Tim, literally no evidence will ever be good enough for the maskers, I see- just like the journals that are refusing to publish it. I am done. When the Danish study is available, I will post it and that will be it.

This is pretty amusing coming from Ken.

Speaking of covidiots

Yes, speaking of covidiots remember when they claimed we needed lockdowns because infections were exponential. Now they continue to criticize others without recalling their own stupidity.

It's pretty clear none of the lockdowns had much effect by noting countries and states with lockdowns fall within the range of those enacting stringent lockdowns. If lockdowns were effective these states and countries would be negative outliers.

Yet now that they've been proven wrong they simply move on to pretend this never occurred while trying desperately to retain their self image of brave and lonely truth tellers.

I don't know what a "Clintonian non-denial denial" is but if you have facts to dispute Politifact's research, show us - otherwise please don't bore us with purely imaginary Trumpian theories. The "under 10" was specified in the post that they evaluated.

It's revealing the media is claiming the reports can't be verified because they don't have access to the emails, but somehow Politifact has concluded they are false. It takes a special kind of stupid to believe both assertions. Chutzpa for referring to imaginary theories while doing exactly that.

It also appears there needs to be a ceasefire in the Birkel, Ken B. and Tim of V Covid wars.

I agree. However a necessary first step is for tim in vermont to acknowledge that he has been wildly over the top along the lines of “Covid! OMG Covid! Covid gonna kill us AAALLLLLLL!” for long enough that he makes it difficult to sort out the nuance of when you stopped supporting lockdowns and why he is one of the last holdouts in favor of universal masking.

For myself, after sorting through claims, counter-claims, cherry-picked data, studies creatively reinterpreted to reach a conclusion at variance with the observed results, “feelz,” flip-flops on the part of WHO, NIH, and the CDC, plus raw bullshit, I have reached a few conclusions:

(1) The only truly effective mask is an N95. Not a KN95, which is built to much more lax Chinese standards. Unfortunately, the US healthcare bureaucracy has made it difficult to make more N95 masks, much less make them available to at-risk citizens.

(2) Cloth masks, which is all most real people can afford, are practically worthless, both for the mask wearer and the people around the mask wearer.

(3) Mask don’t protect the wearer as much as they protect others from the wearer.

(4) Masks appear to lead to greater risk to the wearer, and so summed across the entire US population they are a net negative.

I’m pretty sure I have it right. If you’re going to change my mind you’re going to have to use facts, data that hasn’t been cherry-picked, and not which side of the flip or flop the healthcare bureaucrats are on today.
