So much for the safety of mail-in ballots. Surveillance video shows bags of USPS mail being dumped in Glendale spa parking lot. It takes little imagination to picture piles of ballots found as highway and parking lot litter.

JOHN MCCORMACK
NATIONAL REVIEW SEPTEMBER 06, 2020

It’s a Straight Line from Biden to BLM

"...In fact, things are now sufficiently daft that real incitement is no longer incitement if it’s done for The Cause. Joe Biden did not mention BLM in his speech because, for all his chest-beating about not being soft on violent radicals, he must give BLM immunity because, the dogma holds, BLM is fighting against racial injustice, America’s original — and apparently indelible — sin. By contrast, if you’re a conservative, or even a traditional, patriotic American liberal, you commit incitement not just when you actively offend the Woke Left by speaking up, but when you passively decline to affirm its delusions.

This contortion of incitement is the foundation of the Obama-Biden advocacy of [U.N. Human Rights Council] Resolution 16/18.

Consider the following observation: There is a causative nexus between the commands to violence in Islamic scripture, the mediating influence of sharia-supremacist scholars, and the bombings of Western targets carried out by young Muslim men. When I made that observation in a courtroom in the mid-Nineties, I was enforcing the law by marshaling evidence. If I made the same observation today, though, then according to Resolution 16/18, I would be violating the law by inciting hostility. The facts I’d be uttering would be as true as ever, but now, rather than informing you, I’d be framed as engaging in hate speech.

That’s the Left’s theory: It’s my fault if you can’t cope with news you don’t like. It’s not on you to control yourself; it’s on me to factor in your instability before opening my mouth. That I’m playing with fire is the offense; that you are the fire is to be overlooked, because you’re on fire over all the right things.

Back when Biden was in power, a few brave souls called the administration on the notion that our Constitution would ever tolerate a government-certified version of “truth,” insulated from dissent. It was left to Ol’ Reliable, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (the Democrats’ last presidential nominee), to defend Resolution 16/18. Unable to vouch for its constitutionality, she vowed that, if the coercive use of law were not an option, the government would “use some old-fashioned techniques of peer pressure and shaming, so that people don’t feel that they have the support to do what we abhor.”

That’s where Biden and the Democrats are coming from..."

He’s promising to end fracking and to not end fracking and the only questions he gets are “Why aren’t you more angry about Trump?”

He says looters should be locked up while Harris tweets a solicitation for bail money for them. So he’s promising to lock up the arsonists and to bail them out.

That’s two obvious questions an honest press corps could ask him about.

@Jon Erickson, thanks for the link. My thoughts.

(1) The women seem to have serious anger management problems. I think they should have their tubes tied. If a truck bulling its way past you makes you jump up and down cursing (literally!), then wait until you have to deal with a two year child.

(2) The guy has a diesel truck, and he needs to put diesel fuel into it. That particular station dispenses diesel fuel, and not every gas station does so. He may have had no choice but to fuel his truck there. You don't want him there but he has no choice. Too bad for you.

(3) A Ford pickup with a diesel engine has 475 hp and 1050 lb-ft of torque. If he had pressed down hard on his accelerator he could have dragged at least four people under his truck to their deaths. His forbearance is remarkable, as is his fine motor control.

(4) When he opens his truck's door, the brave robins run away.

I say, Dude, I'm with ya. The whole damn government is a self-licking ice cream cone. All three told me I really get it.

The best way to judge DJT’s campaign is not to look at polling or advertising (especially ads on TV, which is only for geez.......oops, I meant to say that TV is for boom......no, no that’s not what I meant, I want to write that ads on TV are disproportionately focused on our beloved golden-years folks who are very smart and definitely know what should happen, always). Instead of advertising put out by the campaigns, look at the number of folks cleaning out gun stores, also look at the masses who are leaving D cities. That’s the silent majority. They’re eager to vote for four more years. Cause DJT can fix stuff in an hour and/or he can fix stuff on the day he’s inaugurated, he just needs the silent majority to vote for him so he can MAGA,A. Also, he loves his blacks and his military. It’s easy to be loved by DJT. He just needs you to be his.

Ross Douthat wrote this in The Atlantic over a decade ago, in response to the attacks on Sarah Palin.

if the GOP became, more explicitly than it already is, the party of working-class America, and wove a pro-family thread through its economic as well as its cultural agenda - nobody in the media would end up calling the result "moderate" or "centrist." The chattering classes are already inclined to treat the Republican Party as a gathering of gun-toting yahoos with too many damn kids; if the GOP made its working-class populism more explicit, adding economic as well as socio-cultural elements, and found standard-bearers who embody the background and aspirations of the Sam's Club demographic more completely than a son of privilege like George W. Bush, the results would lend themselves to even greater hysteria, condescension and demonization than the Republican Party's current incarnation.

Aside from 2020 election stuff, maybe Althouse should focus on the important things, for example: take a look at Jennifer Griffin.

Griffin used to do the fake-hair-color-thing. Back then, her hair’s length/look was sorta like that which Althouse rocks today.

But nowadays, seemingly a million years after Griffin ended her appearance-fakery re hair (cause of cancer/chemo), Griffin looks hotter and younger than she did with the phony hair. Which seems counterintuitive because back then she was (obviously) much younger and she was also doing phony stuff to help w/ the look of her hair. Weird. IMHO.

Anywho, I would guess that a gal doesn’t need to go to Harvard to be as wise as Griffin is. Presumably this goes re film-flam hair and/or film-flam DJT.

I dunno.

Michael Cohen, President Trump's longtime former personal attorney and fixer, is serving time for felonies committed on behalf of his boss, who was called an unindicted co-conspirator by the courts. It is little wonder that Cohen cannot decide whether to first call Trump a cheat, a liar, a fraud, a bully, a racist, a predator, or a con man. "All of the above" is not nearly specific enough for answering short questions about Donald's criminal racketeering.

So much wrong there. First, WTF were the Mueller prosecutors investigating Cohen in the first place? What did he have to do with collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign? Nothing, of course, as their rabidly partisan prosecutors knew from Day 1, there was no collusion, except between the Clinton campaign and the DNC on the one hand, and the top tiers of the FBI and DOJ (and esp these prosecutors) on the other, in order to fabricate their attacks on Trump out of thin air. And, no, it wasn’t the courts that called Trump an unindicted coconspirators - it was the rabidly partisan Mueller prosecutors led by Andrew Weismann, who attended what was supposed to have been Crooked Hillary’s private victory celebration. It was part of Cohen’s plea agreement, which was drafted by the prosecutors. If they had wanted him to say the Earth was flat, to get the plea deal, he gladly would have. That is just the way it works.

Gadfly just assumes that we are too stupid to realize that the Mueller investigation was a vile, unAmerican, illegal attempt to destroy Trump and his Presidency using the DOJ against him, when their entire legal, Constitutional, and moral justification and power is derived from and delegated to them from his Presidency. I think that I speak for a lot of Americans who would happily line up Mueller’s prosecutors and execute them for treason. Many would gladly bring their own gun and ammunition.

Oh, and the fired and disgraced, Mr “Insurance Policy”, Peter Strzok, just announced that the mistakes they made on the four FISA warrants were because they were too overworked. The guy who admitted that Crooked Hillary was lying, while Gen Flynn, was not, when he interviewed them. Who was maybe the one guy at the FBI who most had to have known that the Russian collusion story was a hoax, fabricated and pushed by the Clinton campaign and DNC. IF he was exhausted during that time, it was because he had his fingers in every pie, on every thread, of the multiple conspiracies being run out of his Counterintelligence Division. Heck, just the work that he and his coconspirator, Lisa Page, and her boss, DD Andrew McCabe, to cut his boss, CD AD Bill Priestap, out of the loop, and keep him from interfering in their plots would have been exhausting. The FBI had maybe 35k employees, maybe half sworn agents, and the same names keep popping up, time after time: McCabe, Strzok, Pientka, Clinesmith, Weismann, etc. that’s why they were exhausted- they refused to delegate, because they would lose control.

One, Weissmann, is distinguished by the 9-0 reversal by the USSC of his conviction of Arthur Anderson in the Enron case. Weissmann should have been disbarred, or certainly never employed by a US agency after that. It destroyed a well known and trusted accounting firm with thousands of employees. There was no going back to save assets. The employees, one of whom was my niece who had gone back to school in her 20s, gotten her CPA and was working in Chicago when her job and career were destroyed by this man. She developed agoraphobia after this and has never fully recovered. All those employees had lives destroyed by this exemplar of a vicious trial lawyer with no conscience.

This is interesting (from CTH): There Never Was a “Woods File” Underpinning The Carter Page FISA Application – Here’s How We Know…

The ‘Woods File’ is the mandatory FBI evidence file that contains the documentary proof to verify all statements against U.S. persons that are contained in any FISA application. Remember, this is a secret court, the FISA applications result in secret Title-1 surveillance and wiretaps against U.S. persons, outside fourth amendment protections.

The absence of evidence is not necessarily evidence of absence. However, in the case of the “missing” or “reconstructed” Woods file used to gain a Title-1 FISA surveillance warrant against U.S. person Carter Page, the overwhelming evidence shows there never was one. The Special Counsel manufactured the appearance of one ex post facto in 2018.

Why wouldn’t they need a Woods File to justify the Carter Page FISA warrants? First, because the applications came to the attorney in charge of making sure that the application was complete preapproved by DAG Yates and DD McCabe. Secondly, there is an exception for confidential human sources (CHS) - their material apparently doesn’t need to be corroborated. Who was their CHS? Christopher Steele. Instead of a Woods File, corroborating the allegations in the FISA applications, they had the Steele Dossier, bought and paid for by the Clinton campaign and DNC. It was only two years later, in 2018, after the Steele Dossiers had collapsed (turning out to have been funded by Trump’s opponent, and primarily consisting of drunken rumor mongering and bar talk by former Brookings Institute (run by former Clinton Administration State Dept #2, Strobe Talbott) analyst Igor "Iggy" Danchenko, who readily admitted most of it was junk), that the Mueller SC prosecutors “recreated” the supposedly “lost” Woods Files. They were caught with their pants down, and were desperately trying to cover their bare asses - they had gotten FISA warrants on Carter Page, that allowed them to electronically surveillance the Trump campaign, transition, and early White House SOLELY on the basis of the Steele Dossier, paid for by Trump’s political opponents. They all knew this. They just had to hide it.

The other thing of interest was the revelation that the FBI’s NY Field Office opened a FARA investigation on Carter Page in March of 2016, based on suppositions that they knew were ridiculous at the time (since Page was still listed as an FBI witness against Russian oligarchs at that time). And who was in charge of FARA targeting at that time? The very same Andrew Weissman Who would go on and attend Crooked Hillary’s expected victory celebration, then move to lead the Mueller prosecutors (where he presumably oversaw the “reconstruction” of the Page FISA application Woods Files). Last I knew, he was back working in the FARA group, but now heading it. One aspect of this is that it shows that the investigation into Trump started at least as early as March, instead of August, as has been the story. Moreover, with Weissman’s involvement, it is clear that they knew that Page had been expected to testify For the FBI against Russian oligarchs as late as March, that he had effectively burned three Russian assets with his cooperation with the FBI, and the Russians knew it. Which is why the small group that got the four FISA warrants against Page issued could not afford to file Woods Files with the warrant applications.

Bruce Hayden said...

“ One, Weissmann, is distinguished by the 9-0 reversal by the USSC of his conviction of Arthur Anderson in the Enron case. Weissmann should have been disbarred, or certainly never employed by a US agency after that.”

You will be happy to know then that Weismann was involved at least as early as March, 2016, in surveilling Carter Page, and thus Trump, from his post as head of targeting for the DOJ’s FARA unit.
