The President stopped in Atlanta for a black community meet and greet. The mutual love was over the top. They were so glad to have a man like Trump keeping promises to them for once. Beautiful introductions worth watching. And now he is rallying Virginia, having already rallied NC and Miami. When does he rest?

Lori Lightfoot's "Census Cowboy" has been charged with animal abuse. Allegedly he galloped the horse to near exhaustion, during a protest on the Dan Ryan Expressway. They horse may have to be put down. Racism by Chicago PD has not been claimed yet, but the weekend is still young.

couldn't they have just changed the name to "Kareeem of Wheat"?

Yes, tradguy, Trump's energy is almost superhuman. I don't know how he does it. If I had had half his verve my entire life, I would have probably been a centi-millonaire by this point in my life. There is no substitute for hard work in pretty much any endeavor.

Laying to rest the great Supreme Court Justice and white Supremacist.

13 years as District Court Judge = zero persons of color hired as law clerks
27 years Justice United States Supreme Court= one person of color hired as a law clerk. (I guess she has grown while on the bench)

Understand the Court uses hiring statistics to PROVE racism.

"Dictator Dan" refers to Daniel Andrews, the Premier of the Australian state of Victoria, who has nothing to do with Boulder, CO, except for the similar spirit.

One of the Mikes (it gets so confusing remembering which one) and Narciso recommended the book Shibumi by Trevanian earlier this week.

So I tried the sample. Then read the whole thing. What a strange book that is. The entire book, plotwise, could have been done in perhaps 50 pages. There are long, long, sections that have nothing at all to do with the plot. 40-50 pages in a cave, for example.

Come to think of it, there was not really much of a plot. What plot there was seems like almost an afterthought to the rest of the book

On the other hand, all this "hoptedoodle" as Steinbeck called it are great for character development.

Overall I found the book a bit strange but fascinating. Very hard to put down.

Thanks Mike and Narciso

ORATION IN MEMORY OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN, delivered at the unveiling of the Freedmen's Monument in Memory of Abraham Lincoln, in Lincoln Park, Washington, D.C., April 14, 1876

we, the colored people, newly emancipated and rejoicing in our blood-bought freedom, near the close of the first century in the life of this Republic, have now and here unveiled, set apart, and dedicated a monument of enduring granite and bronze, in every line, feature, and figure of which the men of this generation may read, and those of aftercoming generations may read, something of the exalted character and great works of Abraham Lincoln

Progress: one step forward, two steps backward. This is almost as bad as 1/2 Americans/People/Posterity (e.g. Fetal-Americans). That said, Pro-Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness realized under The Constitution, less the Twilight Amendment and indulgence of liberal license.

Another day, another day of no campaign events for Joe Biden.

By now, even he has to realize that there is something seriously wrong.

Arrogant pride can go only so far. I give it 50-50 that he concedes to himself what everyone else already knows -- that he's not up to it -- and he drops out.

American first, good. Christian, probably. While color bias is intrinsic, color prejudice is progressive. Most people recognize that diversity (i.e. color judgment) systems, processes, and dogmatic beliefs, not limited to racism, is an insidious recycling of old-fashioned bigotries that breed adversity.

Suggest an "October Surprise" may be the WalkAway movement (Dem's becoming Repubs) and Ricky Rebel. If you haven't seen his MAGA song videos, check it out - influencing both the young and the LGBT communities that the Rebubs are Fun, Colorful and Happy (vice the Black outfits of ANTIFA/etc), Walk away from the Hate, we're all in this together, and focused on Jobs - not conformity. Apparently Kayleigh McEnany plays the MAGA song for the team prior to going out to the press conference snake pit. Plus Ricky is an outstanding communicator of a coherent message for why he and his friends support Trump. His latest release American Rebel includes the refrain not left not right, just American. Gotta see it all. The Dems have nothing like this positive and fun to drive enthusiasm and present an uniting vision for the country. Can't wait to see him sometime on stage with Trump - hopefully at the inauguration. They would be a heck of a pair.

The show's apex. What followed was disappointing compared to what had gone before.

I watched the series premiere the night it aired the first time, but then I didn't continue to watch the show after that. I binged the series the week before Season 4 began. I was excited to see how they would resolve the ending of "The Day We Died", but was very disappointed in Season 4, and almost didn't return with Season 5.

He definitely had an earpiece during that town hall- no teleprompter possible there without it being conspicuous. I don't think it is a fully implanted device, though- just very, very small.

At this point, Biden pretty much has to show up at the debate- I don't see how you pull out at this late a date short of actually dying, so they have decided to go with the earpiece route, it appears. I don't think it has a chance of working- he couldn't even pull off answering that young woman's question in a coherent and competent way even with help, and he and his staff had know the exact question that was coming- it was CNN afterall. The debate may be a debacle for the ages, especially if that earpiece signal gets jammed by Trump's people.

Any facts that you don’t like are obviously disinformation, but the dossier used against Trump by the CIA and FBI was all stone cold truth.

@GingerBeer:

If you don't know Tupac is dead, "...you ain't Black."

Not necessarily. Tupac has long been the subject of conspiratorial claims that he faked his own death, supposedly living in Cuba or Malaysia or Mexico or Belize. People pored over his posthumous recordings and interpreted cryptic and paranoid lines as substantiating the claim. Death Row Records and Shakur's own estate even helped fuel the rumors.

That said, this is the second time Kamala has looked foolish trying to reference Tupac. Last year she claimed she listened to Tupac and Snoop Doogg while at Howard University in the mid-1980's, even though neither had released any music then. It was the same interview in which she most likely lied about smoking weed.

Like Hillary, Harris' efforts at seeming authentic generally come off as forced and phony. It's ironic that she has much more problems with authenticity than Obama did despite her much stronger claim to African-American ancestry.

You don't realize until the end that Fringe is not really a series about strange things happening. It is a story of sin and redemption.

Also, Rocky is not a story about sports or about a nobody has-been getting his chance and overcoming adversity and the odds, although there are certainly those elements. Rocky is primarily a love story.

Meghan's Path
First, she gets elected to the House of Representatives from California, why not? Then becomes Speaker, she's better looking than AOC and just as willing to parrot slogans, why not? Then the President and Vice President step down, et voila.

But let's think out of the box. By virtue of being a citizen of California, she's in fifth place in the order of succession to the Presidency while Harry is sixth in succession to the King of England. The Queen dies and so does Prince Charles by a grouse flying into them while hunting at Braemar. William, George, Charlotte and Louis die heroically saving pictures in the famous Windsor Castle fire (TBA). Harry is King, Meghan is Queen of England and President of the US. The two countries are united again after the unfortunate events of 1776, or rather 1619, under QuPrez Meghan, and a new black and ginger flag is adopted. But then disaster strikes. Beyonce and the QuPrez have a catfight at the Inauguration party over whose dress in best and Beyonce, dressed strategically here and there in red, white and blue and coached by Joe Rogan, prevails. Harry and Meghan resign and seek election in Bali. Of course, all along this was just a show like Matrix which certain Democrats who found they couldn't stop screaming agreed to watch instead living of the too agonizing reality that Trump won re-election in 2020 by a landslide.

Amazingly, I have yet to run it down, but someone else wrote a prequel, I believe, entitled Satori. That I gotta see.
