Sunrise enigma.

It was an austere sunrise:

But right at my vantage point, I found this:

Nice performance art!

I looked up austere in the dictionary and that picture was next to it.

It's a setup. One of your commenters (or maybe a lurker) knows you're at the lake every day and is trying to piggyback on your popularity.

Shameful.

I've been watching some escapist majors golf -- the PGA -- happy that none of the players were kneeling or putting messages on their shirts or hats, etc.

Very nice.

Then POS-ESPN runs a political protest WNBA (what's that?) commercial.

So have you heard the latest in the Montgomery County follies?

For weeks the county health officer has been squirrelly about nonpublic schools being able to open for in-person instruction, informally telling schools that he didn't think it was a good idea, but never making anything official, content to leave it in that gray chilling effect zone.

Then he issued a formal order prohibiting the nonpublic schools from opening.

Then the Maryland governor issued an executive order which withdrew the health officer's authority to close schools since state authorities have determined it is safe for them to open.

Then the county officer issued a new order closing the schools that attempted to rely on other state law which granted local officers authority "to act to protect public health," using that to grab absolute power.

Then the state health secretary issued a directive that the policy of the state public health system (which includes the county officers) was that schools make their own decisions.

Then Cuomo in NY -- the hardest hit state -- said that all of his schools could open.

Now the Montgomery County health officer has backed down and rescinded his order, criticizing the state health department in the process.

Don't trust that weasel -- assuming he keeps his job -- to let things lie. Expect him to find some way to interfere in the nonpublic schools reopenings.

Some, Select Black Lives Matter is politically congruent. Or are they standing up to democratic economics? That is men and women choose to watch men playing sports. Perhaps an athletic override.

I glanced at it quickly and thought it was "sunrise enema", which made me look again. If I had read it correctly the first time I wouldn't have done that. The power of a (misread) headline! Like mangling song lyrics, sometimes the garbled version is more interesting.

Mark, which Montgomery County?

Hahaha, 50k richies keep the lights on in New York and Gov. Nipplering McGrandpakiller will blow each and every one of them to bring them home paying taxes. Of course he's opening the schools, they can't have normalcy without that.

Laughing till I wet my pants.

The Democrat Convention begins in 10 days. They have no VP. The Obama's cannot attend. Yeah, yeah - they'll speak via video. But.. . . .they cannot attend.

I hope VP choice is Rice - her son is a member of Young Republicans. Frankly, her relationship with her son is an example of love and acceptance, regardless of "politics". I hope I get a chance to smear it in the face of all my vile FB friends who revel in cancelling family and friends.

sunrise enema Does that beat "Bikini Hitler" ??

blow sunshine up (one's) ass
rude slang To speak in a deceptively or deceitfully positive manner to one, usually in an attempt to hide the truth of a situation or someone's feelings.
I think they're blowing sunshine up our asses about the financial situation. I have a feeling that things are actually much worse than they're letting on.
Did my singing sound good? Come on, be honest—don't just blow sunshine up my ass.

The People's Republic of Montgomery County Maryland is right outside DC. Holton Arms and Georgetown Prep (which were in the news not long ago), and 184 other private schools will open but the public schools will not. In relation to Covid-19 dangers, MacIver Institute did a study of Covid-19 deaths in Wisconsin and found that all but 15 had an underlying co-morbidity, and most had two or more co-morbidities. And, as we already knew, most were over sixty If this holds for Covid-19 in general, as why should it not, then it would be more harmful to keep the schools closed and impose mask wearing than to resume normal teaching since closing schools and wearing masks are useless in relation to the real threats from Covid-19 and harmful to learning and normal respiration. But don't expect the People's Republic to pay attention to science.

"Yiction" is a smart choice of name. If you Google it, it's more or less unique. All the top results are about him.

Looks like the sunrise here is just about at that phase. The difference here is that there are mountains across the lake and it being hazy this morning, they are kind of lavender against that orangish sky, The mountains look kind of smokey really, like there is a big fire hundreds of miles away. (checks map) OK, Possibly, since the map is two days old, that smoke has reached us. There are a couple of low flying lake clouds and just heard a loon. Now the sun is hitting the lawn and a bass boat is zipping by in the distance. Those things can really fly when the lake is flat calm like this.

Yiction’s pitch is subtly brilliant. If this person really is young, they have a bright future in marketing.

Frankly, her relationship with her son is an example of love and acceptance, regardless of "politics"

So is James Carville's love for his wife.

He is still a vile person and I wouldn't want him anywhere near government.

Susan Rice might be OK as a neighbor and we can admire her as a mom, but this attribute does not make her safe to be VP, much less president.
