I didn't watch the convention, so I am willing to believe that the Democratic Party actually did the nomination this way. And I don't think that's me losing touch with reality. We've got a freakish reality right now.
I read the headline to Meade and said, "Now, what do you think happened?" And he said, "I don't know." I said, "Do you think that means she was actually at the convention and she nominated him?" To be fair... she only said that she hadn't made a show of her encounter with Oprah, and she said that to deny that she was merely "star struck" by Biden. The implication is that of course she'd be star struck by Oprah, but she didn't make a video of that, so that's evidence that making a video about the Biden encounter had to do with something other than simply being star struck.

Of all the politicians out there, to love Joe Biden is quite... odd. He's never been a charismatic leader, he's never been especially popular, he's never been especially noteworthy in the competence department (in fact, he's better known for being quite dim and often wrong), he's spent most of his professional life representing a small state that most people know little to nothing about, he's got a track record with quite a few... interesting details in it, some of them which would have appalled our elevator operator if she knew what they were, which she clearly does not. Most likely the only thing she knows about Biden is he was Obama's VP. Perhaps that is sufficient for a very low information voter.
Or maybe this is a matter that even C-tier rockers have groupies. I wonder what elevator operators say to Mike Enzi when no one is looking.

I noticed that a Black family on my block has taken their "Black Lives Matter" sign off their lawn. I think a lot of people put them up with good intentions and are now rethinking. I also noticed that a house that has had a "Resist" or "Resistance" (whatever it was) sign in its front window since 2016 has taken that down.

I watched a little of the DNC convention on youtube this morning and it looks amazingly cheap and fake like Biden's entire campaign. It almost looks like "The Sting" when they put together a false casino to bilk Doyle Lonnegan out of his money. It looks credible enough to look like a campaign at a casual glance.
I wonder if it's part of an elaborate scam to pocket silicon valley and other donor's campaign contributions cause it's sure not going into the product.

Leslie Knope on "Parks and Rec" had a huge crush on Biden. I remember when elevator operators were actually needed, because it took skill to get the thing to stop level with the correct floor. In those days, the operators were also usually black women.That part hasn't changed in those places where unions make them required.
