To my certain knowledge, the statues of Columbus were not put up to offend Native Americans, but rather to celebrate the arrival of Italians in the New World. I don't think the statues of Confederate generals--those that were put up in the 19th century anyway--were erected to intimidate Black people, but to show the regard that the white people there had for these men. Maybe that regard was misplaced, but there was no malice in the regard... This BLM mural has the distinction of being the only public works project that I can think of whose sole purpose is to offend a certain sector of the population. I think it is. I think it is a message and a look that appeals to the people de Blasio *wants* to appeal to, and it angers the people he *wants* to anger. This helps him immensely. If in the next election debalsio were to be judged on the impact of his policies on the lives of New Yorkers he would lose. But if he is judged on his symbolic war — mooning Trump — he will win. This is a problem I have been struggling with as well. Defunding the police is insane, but watching them arrest people defending themselves on their own property, confiscating their firearms, arresting people defacing a street but not a building, standing aside while democrats loot, burn and riot, 6 cops arresting this patriot. The police have to follow the orders of their leadership. It's not the fault of the rank and file NYPD that the mayor of NYC is an idiot Communist. Yes, I suppose they could refuse to follow orders, but that's easy for us to say. This isn't Nazi Germany (yet). In any case, the police didn't seem to be that vigilant in stopping her, so in this case maybe they were exercising some appropriate discretion.; 7/19/20, 6:29 AM

Bevelyn and Edmee are officially released from the NYPD.
They are doing wonderful and thank each and every one of you for your overwhelmingly incredible support and prayers!

A few things they want to make clear to the public...

#1) The police officer that slipped and fell in the paint is doing OKAY! Praise God! He had a hard fall but is doing very well and fine.

#2) While they were detained, Bevelyn and Edmee were treated like royalty! This was the BEST experience they have ever had with any police department.

#3) During their time with the NYPD, the Lord moved mightily. The police expressed their HIGH APPRECIATION for what Bevelyn and Edmee stood up for today. They expressed their concerns and fears for their city. They are in fear for the sake of NYC and voiced that they need MORE people like them to help and stand up for what is RIGHT! They even asked for PRAYER!!

God is SO SO good and just.

I love the pushback he gets from Coleman Hughes and the others on his materialist analysis of all things racial. The most disgusting thing about BLM and 1619 Project is the condescending, patronizing and ultimately dehumanizing way in which it treats black people.
