Excited?

I had to look up Antonio Sabato Jr:
Antonio Sabàto Jr. (born February 29, 1972) is an Italian-American former model, actor, and politician. Sabàto first found fame in the 1990s as an underwear model for Calvin Klein and playing Jagger Cates on the soap opera General Hospital from 1992 to 1995. By the early 2000s, most of his acting credits were guest appearances, reality television, and budget films.
So... he's basically Joey Tribbiani?

Trump voters don't need faux entertainment to vote. Let the Democrats bring the Hollywood pedophiles to Milwaukee to cheer on their senile candidate. Good luck.

eah, not that I have anything against the rare out-and-proud Hollywood Republicans, but I think it's better to not bother with celecbrities rather than to scrape together this motley group of C and D listers. I've always looked at the fact that the bulk of the entertainment industry is strongly opposed to conservative argument as actually sort of an odd plus. After all, the entertainment industry is based on illusion and frippery. It's not based in the real world.

Of course, an argument could be made that Trump himself is sort of part of the entertainment industry, or at least it could be said he's always had a strong affinity for it. He likes big showy things. He loves pump and circumstance. But as an entertainer himself, you'd think Trump might have a sense of what comes of as appealing versus what comes of as lame pandering.

Jesus Christ, you gotta be kidding me. The GOP is so utterly tone-deaf and lacking any marketing ability. The Democrats have spent the last 4 years blowing up the country, creating a failed coup attempt, blistering Justice Kavanaugh, demanding we shut down our economy (until November), sponsoring riots and dismantling our law enforcement both nationally and at the local levels. Yet the Democrats are poised to take all houses on Washington.

And the GOP is lining up Ted Nugent?

You know, the GOP has sucked for years. Their only saving grace was that they were not the Democrats. Minus the out-of-the-box thinking of Trump, they are done. Both parties need to be blown up. (not literally- for those of you easily persuaded)

I had to look up Mike Sington. I guess the question to ask is are you excited about the candidate or the guest line-up at the convention? I am sure Trump supporters will be excited about him despite the lack of big-name celebrities. On the democrat side, I am sure there will be a plethora of celebrities, a veritable who's who in Hollywood and entertainment. Dem supports will be excited about that but will they be as excited about Biden? I doubt it.

I'm personally not a fan of the "star studded" convention appearance list, but then I don't plan to watch anyway. I do think it is a good idea and could be a major contrast if the DNC does what I expect which is to "show leadership" of tired politicians. But do I feel the electricity? Not at all. I hate campaign season. The ads are tiresome. The only good news is the COVID crisis has caused me to turn off nearly all forms of broadcast entertainment.

There are hundreds of regular people who have and will suffer substantial loss at the hands of Democrat politicians. Many, if not most, of those victims are minorities. Get these people to speak. Who cares what someone far from the fray has to say. The best argument for Trump is that he is not a Democrat, and there are a lot of regular people out there who could make that argument very well with personal accounts. Nothing would be more powerful and relevant than regular non-celebrities speaking for Trump. Who the hell comes up with these ideas? It's so sadly routine. We need to hear from people who represent millions like themselves, not a few unusual people who represent dozens. The purpose of using celebrities is to get people to listen, but these are not those kind of celebrities anyway, and Trump people in particular are not enamored by celebrity.

It’s who can be the bigger asshole time in this election. Is it people who think that wearing a cloth mask marks them as thrall to Satan? Or the coalition of the hyper wealthy and the Krystalnacht types who are in the streets to destroy democracy. Well they both want democracy destroyed and both think that they will be on top when this is over. My bet is that the super mega hyper rich will win and usher in a Xi type of fascist state where the richest set the rules, and the very richest will be whoever gets himself made maximum leader. My money is on somebody controlled by Google, who have set up a spy system that the East Germans could only marvel at. Imagine a leader like Castro in the US. He was just a pathetic run of the mill billionaire. Were he in charge of the United States, he could afford a weekend place on the moon while we wait weeks or months for MRIs when cancer is suspected.

Seen this way, the pathetic utterings of mentally deranged and/or low IQ people who can’t deal with the reality of a pandemic with a minor compromise seems kind of quaint. What really disturbs me about this type though is their firm belief that as a society, we owe each other nothing. I don’t want to live in that society either.

They are the spice in the vindaloo. It’s un-American to seek to replace them the way the Democrats have been trying to do.

I suspect age and his daughter. You can ask the same about Clint Eastwood, who has spoken at a previous convention. But if you put up a bunch of old actors; then it will make the party seem like the party of the old. Then again, you can substitute out Scott Baio or Ted Nugent, except in the former we haven't heard from him as we have Voight or Eastwood and in the latter, Ted is a voice for the NRA and 2nd Amendment plus music. Well that had to be the most idiotic interpretation of the suicides of real people, tim in vermont.

Those people are committing suicide and taking drugs because they are despondent. They see no hope in a future. They think the world is bad and getting worse. They have no jobs. They cannot see friends. They cannot go into public and be near other humans. They are miserable because of an overreaction to a disease.

And the overreaction happened because public health officials do not speak of trade-offs. Fauci said so directly. His colleagues have criticized him for his narrow mindedness.

I look forward to the pre-2020 evidence for the medical benefits of wearing masks by the healthy. Find that evidence if you can. I did. It's not hidden evidence. The medical community made it widely available. Dare you?

And to think this POS perspective is layered on top of what the UN itself said will be the impact of the global shutdown on the poorest humans everywhere:

"U.N. warns economic downturn could kill hundreds of thousands of children in 2020"
APRIL 16, 2020

"UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Hundreds of thousands of children could die this year due to the global economic downturn sparked by the coronavirus pandemic and tens of millions more could fall into extreme poverty as a result of the crisis, the United Nations warned on Thursday."

Hundreds of thousands of children expected to die. Hundreds of millions across the globe thrown into desperate poverty.

Or, as tim in vermont might shout in a very celebratory mode, "If they would rather die, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."

Unfortunately for Trump the biggest media star that will come to the Republican convention is Donald Trump.

If wearing a mask so that business can at least limp along during a pandemic causes you to commit suicide, I would have to say that you are just providing further evidence of my point about mental derangement.

Tim,

People are not committing suicide because they are told to wear masks. You obviously know that as anyone with a brain knows that suicide comes from despair, such as loss of income for someone financially overextended.

Why are you suggesting that someone is equating mask mandates with suicide?

Love the suggestions of Woods, Gutfeld, and Rowe. I heard Eastwood said he will not vote for Trump. And I think other Republican celebs (yes, there some) are afraid to come out of the closet as Trump supporters.

Go ahead and laugh, but watch these speakers and compare them to the self-righteous, angry celebrities the Democrats offer up. Please let us know here which group you found more entertaining and, more importantly, memorable.

I tend to agree. If wearing a mask means we can open for business. Wear a dang mask.

If cutting a few hearts out of living chests prevents the eclipse of the sun. Cut out a few dang hearts.

Not saying they're analogous, except that rational man has fought for millennia against being ruled by superstition. Just ask Stevie Wonder:

When you believe in things
That you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way

Masks appear by the data to be nothing more than superstition. The anger of the superstitious for those violating their taboos is real, but that doesn't justify it.

If not Aztec sacrifice...rabbit's feet? Surely you can carry around a lousy rabbit's foot?! What's the matter with you?
