By my count, today was the last day for Judge Sullivan to file a motion for rehearing or for en banc review in the Flynn case. Now the panel has seven days to file its mandate. Let's see how much drama can be squeezed out of this dirty rag.

Tomorrow we get the SCOTUS opinions on the President Trump tax return cases? I think it's better than even odds that New York will get to see them, even or less than even that Congress will see them. However, Clinton v Jones, which was brought up a fair number of times during the oral arguments, does not bode well for the president.

Any bets?

Whoa, reddit teachers talking about a national strike how. Those are the young hotheads tho.

I wonder how the old nonredditors feel? They're more at risk. Some districts are mandating masks for teachers but not pupils. Because they won't keep them on anyway. Lol

Such is the state of school discipline.

I remember when “Joe the Plumber’s tax information was released at the whim of an Ohio official, not one damn thing happened to her. I have been told that if you are a criminal and you pay takes on your criminal income the irs can’t report you to the police. I guess that is out now too. The government via the irs can force you to self incriminate and then release the confession for whimsical, political reasons. But talk about Biden’s bribe money and you are impeached. Democrats love to shove immoral power in peoples faces, then laugh. They learned from the biggest dickhead in the world, Harry Reid.

Looks like verbena in the purple and and butterfly milkweed in the orange.

The milkweed is gorgeous in bloom and a monarch host. Fairly easy to start from seed. I’ve got about a dozen six inch high plants potted up and going on a sandy full sun berm in the fall. The only tricky part in transplanting is remembering they have tap roots like all milkweed so don’t just squish it into the ground.

He's got a lot of catching up to do.

And, of course, in a completely predictable fashion, the widow and family of Joe Shapiro, the person ARM and the rest of the left are lying about re:Shapiro taking the SAT for Trump, has obliterated that lie.

This obliteration follows on the heels of the pentagon and CENTCOM obliterating the russians paying bounties lie.

Which comes on the heels of Boltons laughable "literary" effort.

It appears the media has about 3 or 4 of these narrative lies to go per week from now until the November election.

They will have to come up with a new, reset, lineup of lies after Trump is reelected.

Just read the transcripts of the body cams of two of the MN officers that were released today. I thInk it’s going to be very tough to get convictions on a couple of them. Maybe even three of them. I wouldn’t want the job of convincing a jury with this kind of evidence. In a filing today, Kane’s attorney included pages from the MPD training manual with a picture of an approved restraint with a knee on the perp’s neck.

My Kenosha Wisconsin Credit Union has published names and photos of their 2020 scholarship winners. https://trustonefoundation.org/scholarships#:~:text=ANNOUNCING%20OUR%202020%20SCHOLARSHIP%20Winners,in%20the%20fall%20of%202020.

There are 12 of them, winning from $2000 to $2500 each. All of them are women. No men.

All but one of them is White. It appears that one of them, Anna, is Hispanic. None of them are Black.

All of them are young. None apparently over the age of 20.

All of them are daughters of breeders. Apparently none of them is a dependent of a non-breeder.

Amerika is throughout racist, sexist, ageist and pro-breeder. These young, White women may not even be account holders of the Credit Union. Someone should investigate and put an end to all this illicit discrimination that pervades our Wisconsin society.

I have no clue on how the court will rule but what business is it of Congress to get the tax returns of the president? It's fishing expedition and that is the same for the NY prosecutor. Where is the probable cause? As for Clinton v Jones, Jones had a damages case against Clinton. I memory serves me right,Jones won her case against Clinton then went after the returns in order to collect the judgment. I fail to see the relevance of the Clinton decision to a prosecutor and a Congress on a fishing expedition because they are looking to find a crime.

I cited their study so they disavowed it

The authors don’t say how I misused their work. Instead, they attribute to me a position I have never taken: that the “probability of being shot by police did not differ between Black and White Americans.” To the contrary, I have, like them, stressed that racial disparities in policing reflect differences in violent crime rates. The only thing wrong with their article, and my citation of it, is that its conclusion is unacceptable in our current political climate.

This retraction bodes ill for the development of knowledge...

J Farmer: What do you think of the Lincoln Project Ads? In your opinion, are they effective?

God no. Steve Schmidt and Rick Wilson are a bad joke. When there were protests over the embassy move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Schmdit went on TV and solemnly declared that Trump had "blood on his hands." This is the guy that tried to get McCain elected. Rick Wilson is a man in his 50's whose discernible talent is producing bitchy TV ads. The Afghanistan ad where the guy talks about "stomping the living shit out of some Russians right now" was cringe-inducing. Rick Wilson seems to think that this is how tough guys talk.

Schmidt and Wilson seem to be clamoring for a return to the GOP of George W. Bush. They push the same bullshit strategy that the GOP must soften its stance on immigration and social issues in order to attract blacks, Hispanics, gays, etc. Trump's 2016 victory was a complete repudiation of that strategy.

Nice to see that since I stopped reading comments regularly, I haven't missed anything.

It's so sad that people like Drago seem to confuse conservatism with playing spin doctor for Republican presidents. So busy winning stupid news cycle battles against leftists and the media that you fail to notice you're losing the war.

As record numbers of legal and illegal immigrants poured across the border, as China entered the WTO and began sucking up American manufacturing jobs and building capacity, as Bush signed CAFTA and bilateral "free" trade agreements with Dominican Republic, Morocco, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, and Peru, added a huge entitlement component to Medicare, greatly expanded federal involvement and spending in education, and encouraged blacks and Hispanics to buy buy buy those new starter homes, what was the Republican base doing with its energy?

Oh right, defending the dumpster fire that was the Iraq War and trashing the conservatives who had tried to warm them off it.

Come 2008 and yet another stroke of genius from the GOP base. John "amnesty/guest worker" McCain and Sarah "gee golly" Palin. Of course as America is reaching peak war wariness, let's nominate the old coot warmonger. And sure Parah couldn't think her way outside a paper bag, but she had a down syndrome baby(!) and she hunts(!). So down-to-earth, so relatable! And then they both fell flat on their faces.

But never fear, after four years of Obama's controversial moves on stimulus, financial regulation, and Obamacare, the GOP came through again and gave us Ward Cleaver. I mean Mitt Romney. Well, we've all seen what kind of "severely conservative" national politician he's turned out to be. After he bungled it, he came out for amnesty, as did the infamous GOP "autopsy."

But luckily the GOP was finally pulling its head out of its ass and starting to realize that maybe Hispanics weren't "natural conservatives," maybe American's weren't really interested in non-stop failed militarism, and maybe those "free market" polices that hollowed out the blue collar Americans' livelihoods and empowered a major global competitor weren't such great ideas after all. Maybe Ayn Rand fanboy Paul Ryan didn't have his finger on the pulse of America as he was advocating carving away entitlements during a period of huge economic insecurity.

For a brief shining moment, it looked like the GOP base was finally ready to move on from the antiquated Reaganomic low taxes/strong defense playbook. No such luck. Steve Bannon, the architect of Trump's victory, was sidelined in favor of who we all really wanted: President Jared and First Lady Ivanka. Who better to help design and implement a policy of economic and cultural national than two members of the Manhattan cocktail party set. And under their expert tutelage, we got big Trump victories like a meaningless barrage of missiles against Syrian facilities after Ivanka was crying over an alleged chemical weapons attack she saw on the news. Oh and let's not forget the First Step Act prion reform bill, really throwing out that red meat to the base.

Don't worry about Jared being out of shitty ideas.hat Trump will swallow hook, line, and sinker. As election 2020 heats up, we're learning that a big part of the campaign will be an effort to increase Trump's share of the black vote. Because of course four years after winning the biggest electoral upset in American history, let's completely abandon strategy for the same stupid expand-the-tent bullshit that "GOP strategists" have been pushing for years.

By all means everyone, be sure and keep your tongues firmly planted on Trump's ass. You're really doing something there.
