Would the person named Yin who is trying to comment, please try again?
We have tried to put through your comments, but they are not appearing. We are worried that there's some kind of censorship happening that is not coming from us. We will look for you and make a screen shot next time we see you!

Yang, stop cancelling Yin.
(I wonder how many commenters will make a similar joke.)

Don't be Silly, unless it's...

Are you able to see the IP address of commenters?
It’s that bastard Yang again!
You can always cut and paste if the Chinese thug communist regime is blocking comments from that prison land.
And yet Yang's comments get through without difficulty and are frequently highlighted. Perhaps with proper reforms, Yang's comments can be printed in bright red letters and given a font three times larger than all surrounding comments. This will address the historical imbalance. Previous generations heard too much from Yin, and Yin during those eras presented unfair comments.
I blame Yang.
“We are worried that there's some kind of censorship happening that is not coming from us.“
Ha ha ha ha.
The Democrats censored Yang.
Wowsers. This could explode into an international incident.
Without Yang, he has forgotten The Way to post.
I suspect you have reached the point at which you must give up relying on blogspot or wordpress, and outsource your blog management to experts, as instapundit and the powerline blog did years ago. there will be a cost, hopefully to be offset by ad revenue from your Amazon portal.
this will give you much better control over commenters at the same time as it protects you from Chinese (or any third party) censorship.
Was this post a way to see how many people would bring up Yang?
"I suspect you have reached the point at which you must give up relying on blogspot or wordpress..."
You new here?
Good ‘un, Ann. But the wry humor sounds more like Meade to my ear.

Maybe Yin was vectoring a European Virus.
Bonaparte gulls silhouetted, waves flow bright ?
Ten percent or so of my post attempts here end up with a broken Blogger "B" appearing onscreen and an instruction to refresh, followed by a warning that I may be posting twice.
Unfortunately, without instant Althouse postings, it is impossible to determine whether a post succeeded or not. I blamed the problem on my ancient 10-year-old Vaio, so I used the money gifted by the government to buy a new Ryzen 7 Asus with a 512 SSD which should never have an upload problem but it ran into the broken "B" last night.
I hope and try to live a life that precludes me ever being issued a visa to the Chinese mainland while the Chinese Communist Party remains in power there. So should we all.
It's one thing if AA decides to block or delete a commentator or comment. It's quite another if this is happening without her knowledge. The question is who could be doing this?
I'm suddenly getting Asia Dating ads on the Althouse web page. Is it racist to say that?
Having traveled to mainland China, my thought is not for the yin and yang joke, but the real possibility of censorship by the ChiComs. They are ruthless. Inga couldn't even contemplate being placed in a re-education camp; that's beyond her ken.
@Inga: At least 5 people in China have disappeared, gotten arrested, or been silenced after speaking out about the coronavirus
Substitute Yin for Tim.

Which topic was he commenting on?
This isn't a joke.
Someone named Yin wrote something that might be triggering censorship that might be rigged into Blogger to take out. More than once it was in the pending comments and was set like all the other comments to go through but then it did not appear. The substance of it was that things within the current demonstrations in America are like the Cultural Revolution in China.
Gadfly,
You should behave been able to understand AA was talking about a completely different issue.
But then...all about ya.
that sweet sweet chi-com censorship - we can have some too.
You/we are being monitored. There is no doubt.
YAY Chi com Hillary! Biden's bank account! Democratic connections to China and the Chinese communists!
communism is the same disease - everywhere. In the us, we call it the democrat party.
The question is who could be doing this?
I dunno. Maybe I can google it!!
Poor Yin is probably already on his way to a re-education camp!
This isn't a joke.
Never underestimate the propensity of a substantial portion of any crowd to be incredibly dense and to utterly miss the point.
We already know that Google and Apple and Microsoft and Twitter and Facebook and much of corporate management, et al. cower and cater to the whims of their Chinese communist masters.
It might be interesting to load some of the key words Yin used, and post them into a dummy test account. It might help distinguish the type of censorship. Has the Yin account been flagged?...or do they parse for keywords in the comment?
The moderators are being moderated!!
we applaud this effort
... with one hand
China is out to ruin us and control. Kick out of the United States all CCP members. Decouple our economy now!
Are people able to freely read blogs like "Althouse" in mainland China? I somehow doubt it.
"So should we all."
Thanks for the advice but I'll make my own decision.

You have deleted plenty of my completely w/in the rules comments.
As you have the ability to do. It is what it is.
Do you get it?
Logic is tricky.
Whatever became of the althou.se project?
Maybe Blogger has a filter to block comments that are coming in from China from certain IP addresses that have been marked as known government disinformation sites.
"Your search - AlthousianZone.com - did not match any documents."
Comparing the current purge of old fashioned liberals by woke second wave progressives to the Chinese Cultural Revolution is too close for comfort, too right wing for blogger? More likely that google has an algorithm to block such dangerous thoughts.
Mao’s Cultural Revolution has landed in America
That this current bout of insanity resembles the Chinese cultural revolution is such a commonly expressed sentiment that it hardly seems worth censoring in a blog comments section.
He ran afoul of emperor Xi's censors.

If so, bad in two ways. First, it deletes anyone using that IP address, even if innocent. Second, it should be more than adequate to add a flag, "Caution: This was posted from a known government disinformation site." Blocking is overkill.
Inga trusts the Chi Coms.
I hope you are ok, Yin.
I know a few weeks ago someone on YouTube discovered every comment he made criticizing a propaganda arm of the Chinese government was disappearing. He asked other people to do the same in comments on various YouTube channels, and all of the comments were deleted.
YouTube (aka Google) later said there was 'inadvertently" a filter that had been set.
So yeah, I'm with Ann that this could very likely be a censorship thing they are seeing.
It would be a typical bug, that stuff going to moderators is not deleted until approved; an oversight on the part of censor software design. That leaves a trace visible to moderators.
Another upside to moderation: The first 12 commenters make the same lame joke.

China Is Asshole!

Amazing.
I am Yin.
I am Spartacus.

Riiiight,…Google is protecting us from Chinese propaganda.
You never cease to amaze.

Ease up Walt- if you have read the comments ahead of mine and since, no one seriously knows why Yang, or Blogger or Althouse has a problem. So no comments have been pertinent - including your uncalled for attack.
All about me, I presume has something to do my critical judgement of Trump - but I do not make it a habit to personally insult others unless provoked.
Youtube had a "bug", where anyone using the Chinese for 50 cent had their comments deleted.
"Comments left under videos or in live streams that contain the words “共匪” (“communist bandit”) or “五毛” (“50-cent party”)"
https://www.theverge.com/2020/5/26/21270290/youtube-deleting-comments-censorship-chinese-communist-party-ccp
Just like Twitter made an "Error" in permanently banning zerohedge. They just got reinstated.
We are no longer the knights who say Yin
By now Yin is some police basement being questioned by Xi's minions and being helped in getting his thinking right.

I sympathize because I used a Hotspot for six months and problems were continuous. Anyhow:
If you arrow back ONCE, you should arrive at the page with your comment typed into the comment box. Then you know what happened - your comment collided with another coming at the same time. And you simply retry, ONCE.
But most people hit the keys twice and even more times to be "sure" or because they're mad. Then you can't know what happened because you can't be sure what you told the computer to do. Moreover, there are problems caused by intermittent online connectivity but the screens are different. The only solution is to hit the key once, and once only, and track what happens.

Urgently request that you relay all of Tim's comments under your own login or Meade's. Label them so and let us judge who sent them.

Inga, you have never disappointed me before the way you just have. You are a traitor to humanity.
Incidentally, Inga, you beast, the joke that all the commenters were making in the beginning is that in Chinese, Yang and Yin are the male and female principle respectively, e.g. the Yin-Yang symbol. Odds are that the person being censored by Google / China is a woman. Madeleine Albright had some things to say about people like you, and curiously, she spent some time in your old neck of the woods.

The commenter regrets the error.
We didn't copy Yin's comments before approving them, and then they never appeared. So I can't show them to you.
Yin never reappeared, despite this post.
Ah. I guess I figured you'd have it all backed up in email or RSS if nothing else.
Sorry Yin. We're on your side!
