"What happens if it's a 'Flight 93 Election' and your side is corkscrewing down into the earth?"

That's the prospect facing once and possibly future Trumpists. It's undeniable at this point: Trump's falling behind and flailing. He's alienating white voters, and not gaining enough of any other kind.... If Trump loses, and in the process Democrats retain the Senate and win back the House [sic], they will have the chance to do big things. On many issues, they’re split — but one big thing they’ll be able to agree on is passing a giant Gang-of-8 style amnesty bill.... They see a mass influx of immigrants (not irrationally) as the guarantor of a more liberal electorate on into the future. And it will be irreversible, Once you amnesty you can't go back.....  [W]e'll be a nation open to the planet's free moving labor.... Second and Third Worlders stands ready to flood the market anytime wages increase (or even when they don’t).... [That]'s why the fantasizing about Trump abandoning his attempt at reelection should probably be taken seriously and even egged on... Trump himself is clearly thinking a lot about losing these days, as when he mused, absurdly, that President Joe Biden would have to finish his border wall. 'And he’s going to be your President because some people don’t love me maybe.'... The Democrats’ nominee is so weak that Republicans... might still have a chance at retaining the White House...."

Writes Mickey Kaus in "A Time to Bail... Trumpism is more important than Trump."

Pence is the most obvious choice if Trump withdraws, but Kaus also names, Mitt Romney, Tom Cotton, Josh Hawley, Nikki Haley, and Mitch Daniels.

The bottom line: 75% of the establishment republicans dont want the border secured in any way and are happy to work with the dems to make sure real immigration reform never happens.

Of course they are. But if Trump had made clear from his inauguration that no legislation of any kind would move in Washington until our borders were secured, and that he would actively campaign against every Republican who opposed him, Trump would have been able to deliver on his promise to voters. But that would have required understanding of the art of the deal.

Mickey Kaus is an anti-immigration absolutist opposed to amnesty of any kind. He may be many things but “moderate Republican” is not one of them.

This amusingly illustrates left wing culture. In their view enforcing existing law is the "absolutist position" while changing it to their preference is moderate / centrist / reasonable. In reality enforcing existing law is the centrist position, with movements right or left ranging from moderate to extreme. But to the left movements against their preference simply aren't part of the scale, the only question is how far to their preference will the agreement move.

It's like an agreement which one party tries to renegotiate every time it constrains their behavior. It's effectively no agreement at all.

I already posted this, but there is a 1/333 chance I made a mistake and didn't post it.

Crack needs to think in terms of Flight 93 songs, like 2pac did.

I have written it, it can use spice.

"I wish I woulda started over,

Thanked Him for gettin' older,

Not made promises unsober.

And Dusty pictures,

On the Wall,

Frameless Memories all.

And No More Standin' Tall.

Wish I woulda started over.

Thanked Him for gettin' older.

And Dusty Pictures, on the wall.

Frameless memories all, and no more standin' tall."

"Looking back at 2016, why else did they hatch Crossfire Hurricane when Hillary was so 100% a lock to win?"

I think that there were several factors: (1) Clinton just had more money than was good for her, and was able to waste money on crazy stuff; (2) first her email and then her health were time bombs that might still require a knockout punch against Trump; (3) once the dossier got spread around, the Deep Staters wanted to push it along to impress the incoming Queen; (4) by that time, Obama's inner circle had made weaponizing the bureaucracy a routine thing.

As a trump asslicking fanboi, this is accurate. No joke. I was heartbroken the other day. They won, didn't they, with that one tweet? It made all the others not worth it. That one stupid rookie idiot mistake confirmed that even Great Men have bad days.

Thanks Trump, for showing us how leaders respond American firstly through adversity.

Our domestic foes have certainly made us stronger in certain ways previously lacking during the previous administration. Now with Trump, soldiers of all kinds are home.

Ronald Reagan is remembered as the president who gave us Amnesty.

Enforcing federal law was not Reagan’s thing.

I think this could be the last US election. If Trump loses, I'm not sure there will be another one. The Fascists running the riots/demonstrations are not interested in surrendering power in another election. This is "one vote, one man, one time."

The only conclusion: Trump didn't get a bunch of Americans killed because he wants them to be Nazi's at home.

Trump is W R O N G WRONG!!! either way!!!!

Whole thing is ridiculous.
1. There is no reason for China Joe Biden to be ahead. So, he either isn’t, or won’t be.
2. Trump appears to have a core of four insiders: Melanie, Pence, Ivanka, and Kushner. They are all loyal to him. None of them are going anywhere.
3. The Democrats have been increasingly crazy since the first of the year. I think it is going to hurt them.
4. If Trump doesn’t wn, I think that it will be because of social media. This is where he needs to be concentrating his resources, at their illegal program to steal the election from him.

I didn’t call it an absolutist position, I said Kaus was absolutely opposed to amnesty of any kind, which means he’s not a moderate Republican.

If you think I amusingly illustrate left-wing culture you must have me confused with someone else.

“ Next time you go out of your home, be courteous to your neighbor: wear a mask”

Over in Spokane Valley to see an eye surgeon. Really cool guy. Told him he needed to get his toys out of state, ASAP. But even the sane end of the state, they are rabidly absurd about the coronavirus precautions. No doubt, when I go to Costco tomorrow, I will have to wear a mask. They are based around Seattle, so it is the price you pay for their prices. Everyone on this side of the ID line is mask crazy. Stupidly mask crazy. Even in Walmart.

We spent most of an hour today sitting in the waiting room at his office. My partner had been all in for masking when appropriate. But I am the one who has gone out the last 4-5 months and had to deal with the problem. Today, she discovered that she really doesn’t like masks. The surgical masks we were wearing (in stacks in the motel - which is why they became so hard to find) restricted her air flow. She is naturally claustrophobic, and the slight CO2 Buildup had her hyperventilating. For most of an hour while we waited for our turn. Imagine sitting for an hour next to your loving spouse, who spends the time hyperventilating, talking about almost passing out, etc. She didn’t, though I don’t put it beyond her.

The reality is that it is ridiculous, and it is still going on in Dem states like WA. The guy at the front desk was vacuuming the mat by the front door wearing a red bandana. At least it wasn’t black, so I could worry about him being AntiFA. But I really don’t know what he thought he was accomplishing wearing it. No surprise, the pool was closed. Expected it. But the outdoor porch? My comment to my partner was that it was probably the safest place in the motel from COVID-19, thanks to all the UV. Closed by WA law. Thank you Jay Inglee. When we come back in several weeks for the surgery, I think that we will stay 20 miles east of us, across the state line in ID, where most everyone is a lot saner about this nonsense.

Long way to November. Just four months ago, Trump seemed like a lock to win reelection. A pandemic initially cratered the market. It's made up a lot of its losses. Then, the George Floyd unrest and continued riots, looting, and protests.

Let's see where things are after Labor Day.

Unbelievably wrong.

At that time the lying weaponized deep staters and their media allies had the establishment republicans completely convinced Trump was a russian agent and wasnt even going to be President by the 2018 election.

Thats why Romney wanted into the Senate so badly so he could play Howard Baker and tell Trump to resign.

The House republicans would have viewed a Trump threat to campaign against them as toothless and a badge of honor and dont forget Paul Ryan and about 45 other senior republicans were already retiring and not running again anyway.

Nichevo,

And Trump as savior? Don't be preposterous; he is at most a reprieve; The country is too large, with too many significant issues, to be able to set right in a mere two presidential terms.
