Poor Slow Joe.

His ability to weaponize the George Floyd funerals (yes, plural) is already in diminishing returns status.

Biden appears to be bowing out of a personal appearance at the Houston service where he was to make an impassioned plea on behalf of BLM, etc. But now, that has been dumped to keep the dementia addled simpleton back in his basement (after offering up a laughable "secret service" related excuse) where me will make a pre-recorded video to be played at the Houston service.

Pre-recorded is necessary as he is not able to complete a single sentence without stepping on his crank.

And, on top of all that, the Biden campaign refuses to say they oppose the defunding of police across the nation.

And that is already showing up in republican commercials in those important congressional swing district commercials.

Congrats Maoist dems! You've really teed this one up.

Good to hear that arrests have been made. Another reason not to defund the police.

What you must believe, June 2020:

• The WWII Allies were Antifa
• Riots are peaceful
• Viruses kill you in church but not in street protests
• Police make cities less safe
• Senility in a presidential candidate is fine
• US Senators should not be allowed to publish op-eds

In Chicago, in one weekend: 92 people shot, 27 dead.

Is it reasonable to infer that none of the assailants are white, or else there's lots of protests?

Also, does anyone wanna defund the Chicago Police?

The Left is bonkers and enables violence.

@Drago, my prediction is that there will be precisely one Presidential debate this fall. Joe Biden will be fed all the questions in advance, his staff will work out answers and carefully brief Slow Joe. And Joe will still blow it. “Bigly.” But the news media will claim that he won anyway.

An interesting interview by Aussie conservative politician John Anderson and biophysicist Michael Levitt:https://www.podbean.com/site/EpisodeDownload/DIR9129E84HVY72

Levitt looked at the data from the Diamond Princess Cruise ship, where virtually everyone was exposed to covid-19, and calculated a death rate of 500 per million, or 0.5%. It turns out that this is about the death rate experienced by all nations, regardless of lockdown status & social distancing edicts.
There are some unanswered questions in the interview. New York, for example, has a death rate of 2,000 per million, and Levitt explanation for this seems trite.
Levitt brings up some interesting points, such as whether getting 'regular" flu conveys some immunity to covid-19.

The GOP also needs to do an ad highlighting the fact that the Biden campaign bailed out rioters.

We know Slow Joe's excuse - he barely knows what day it is. His staffers, on the other hand, apparently think their demented Twitter followers are an accurate gauge of public sentiment.

With the exception of the tv remote control, the greatest invention of all time was the Gutenberg printing press. The thing about Gutenberg's invention is that it wasn't really that inventive. He used the technology from wine presses and such and put together a printing press. It was more mechanical ingenuity than even engineering, but he was the first person to put it all together. He probably wasn't as bright as Archimedes or Galileo, but he was the one who changed the world. And nothing against Shakespeare and Cervantes, but they'd be nothing without Gutenberg. Too bad he didn't have the patent. Well, he made a few dollars printing up Papal Indulgences so his efforts weren't totally in vain.

When somebody says that they are a free speech fundamentalist, and I have always thought of myself as one, they are wrong. Free speech isn’t the part that is fundamental, it’s a faith that there is something approaching objective truth that is fundamental, and free speech is just the best way to guarantee that truth is actively explored. If you don’t believe in any kind of objective truth then arguments based on truth in defense of free speech fall on deaf ears. They just feel that free speech empowers their enemies.

I think a lot of it has to do with climate change. They know their arguments don’t really hold together and there are plenty of reasonable objections to most of what they are saying, but they have complete faith that they are right and so allowing people the freedom to make objections is evil. Free speech is therefore evil. The planet is at stake. (which is ridiculous) <<--- EVILLL! BANISH HIM!!!!

This is what my sojourn on Twitter has taught me.

I think partly that the answer is that not all exposures are the same. Maybe half of the NYC deaths can possibly be attributed to DeBlazio’s people forcing assisted living facilities, filled with people with significant comorbidities, to accept people known to be contagious with the virus. The staff at these facilities were low paid, low skilled, and overworked. These facilities did not have statistically representative populations, but, instead, were filled with 70, 80, and even 90 year olds. Many had other comorbidities too, such as breathing issues or weak hearts. Overworked and under skilled staff meant that proper sanitary procedures were likely often skipped. So the coronavirus flared through these places in record time.

I mowed the lawn yesterday. There was a big cloud of grey smoke and a powerful smell when I started up the machine. Then I ran over a stump (twice) and the engine conked out with a loud bang (twice). The neighbor, who always has his lawn professionally mowed, came out to take a look and maybe glared. He might have thought the rioters with Molotov cocktails had finally come to suburbia.

Back to work soon.

Because, by definition, the 'Police' are 'working class' they are 'racist', because the 'working class' is racist, they must be condemned? Well your premiss's are wrong - the 'hoi polloi' is not 'racist', on the contrary, that is projection - you are racist because you think in those terms - we rough around in our little bottle of being and accept it - look at Liverpool, my town, were people just married each other because they loved each other - the biggest friction their was between the Protestants and the Catholics between Everton and Liverpool. In the 19th and early 20th there are so many mixed marriages that no one knows where they began, including me.

House For Sale.

Friends that were not and have already gone
Leave that glamorous emptiness, the void
Of an age that has forgotten the words
Of a conversation or why it meant
Anything: each day behind the curtain
Must be found the appalling but still
Discreetly vague urge of the animal,
Panic before the inarticulate weight
Of this negative about to be exposed.
Upon the stairs phantom ascending and
Descending whispers left merely to
Remind one, if not of departure,
Then of a past where opening a door
Was significant, where each room was
A place, where being in a house made sense.

Lewis said...

Leigh, not only does speech=violence, now silence, a lack of a voice, = violence, which I partially agree to, as long as they 'hear' my 'speach' that the Police are decent (more than decent! Noble!) good human beings - the 'front-line', who, only last month we were praising as 'heros'. 'Can't get no break!' - life ain't easy, Mr Cop, but could you, please, stop my neighbour from stabbing me?

Lewis said...

So, Police are good people, vocational people, like nurses, like doctors, who try, to the best of their ability, to be reasonable, rational authority figures. Of course, PACE (1984!) effed that up - no longer 'bobbies on the beat' but form fillers and the only time we sea them 'on the beat' is when they're beating a riot. But that's our decision, that's political and if you don't like it, change it. It doesn't obfuscate the fact that Police, men or women, are decent, good, vocational human beings.
