Biden supporters will have to start taking those signs down and bumper stickers. People know he’s senile. Those signs only reinforce that conclusion in people’s minds.
"Functional" adults are actually more difficult to find than many such people as this property owner suspect.
Who among us doesn't have something in our history that we'd rather not have found out by the general public? Who among us has the balls to have our life's history gone over with a very hostilely wielded fine tooth comb on the evening news?
There's a reason why so many of our political class are narcissists & sociopaths. No sane person would want to walk into that spotlight.
This guy is opting out and I don't blame him. If the Trumpeteers are not free to express their politics without fear of violence, then the rest of us aren't either. I'm so tired of the stupid bullies who claim the Republicans are trying to establish a Fourth Reich. That stuff is nonsense.
One of those signs has been in my neighborhood since last fall. For a while, a Buttigieg sign was beside it. I have zero doubt that the eventual Democratic nominee sign will be beside it in the fall.
IMHO? A sign out up by a vehement anti-Trumper who’s looking at Biden and thinking “I can’t vote for this senile man.” Someone who in November is going to sit on his hands and leave the choice to others.
But with fraudulent vote by mail coming up, he’ll vote a solid Democratic ticket without doing a thing.
That slogan was originally anti-Trump, but now with Biden the likely nominee it cuts both ways. It doesn't look like the minor parties will nominate a functioning adult either.
But most functioning adults would be overwhelmed by the presidency. And most competent politicians aren't what the public wants either - too much double talk, pandering, and deception. You have to have a spark of nuttiness to be able to function well as president, and lately the public has been in the mood for amateurs, rather than professionals.
There's been one of those here in deep-blue Falls Church, Virginia for some time. I always get a chuckle that the Democrats set the bar so low and still couldn't clear it.
Best/funniest slogan along this theme I ever saw was on a bumper-sticker circa late sixties/early seventies which said: "Beam me up Scotty--there's no intelligent life down here." :)
E. M. @ 6:03The leftin a nutshell. Trump has proven again and again when it comes to policy he's the adult in the room and the dem left and their media enablers are the petulant children.
These signs have been around since before the Iowa Caucus, in Massachusetts -- outnumbering Warren signs even then. It seemed like such a low hurdle to clear, and yet the Democrats somehow failed.
Perhaps if I'd had my second cup of coffee I could find a pithy way to connect this to our hostesses's observation that "better than nothing" is a high standard.

Filed under "normal"? C'mon, Ann. This is probably a Madison house, and as such, "normal" is one of the last categories to apply.
Pithy. And stupid.

35 & over to be constitutional
Also natural born
In other words, re-elect Trump 2020.

That sign showed up in my town at least a month ago. Pretty sure I mentioned in a comment. I've only seen one.
P.S. IMO Trump is a "functioning adult".
So Trump, then.
The Dems have done nothing rational since 2016. Or in the previous 60 years.

A Trump sign, then.

Better than nothing is an impossible standard.
That rules out Biden.
Last time somebody had a bumper sticker that said "Neither One 2016."

Interesting. These signs are a huge body blow to Biden. Who is paying for these signs?
I think a hear a phlegmatic chortle in the distance.
@Meade (6:08), good that you worked it out. Now persuade your wife.

What is normality?
It's a never Trumper sign. If it was pro Trump, it would read "Any Festering Cunt"
I saw a similar sign on the back of a car last July 14 at a French restaurant favored by U of A faculty.
It was "anybody else 2020" And low and behold, just like that, they got nobody.

Been around the Bay Area since the dem campaigns started.

No, that would be a good slogan for you, actually. But charming as always.
