"Mr. President, there was a lot of interest about whether you would end up wearing a mask today. Could you just take us through your thought process of why you decided not to wear a mask?"

Trump was asked after his tour of a Ford plant yesterday. From the transcript:
Well, I had one on before. I wore one in this back area, but I didn’t want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it, but no, where I had it in the back area, I did put a mask on....

Why would you not be wearing it here, sir?

Not necessary here. Everybody’s been tested and I’ve been tested. In fact, I was tested this morning, so it’s not necessary.

But the... executives are wearing them.

Well, that’s their choice. I was given a choice and I had one on in an area where they preferred it. So I put it on and it was very nice. It looked very nice, but they said they’re not necessary here....

What about the example that it would set for other Americans to see you wearing a mask?

Well, I think it sets an example both ways. And as they say, I did have it on. Thank you.... I just liked your question so much. You know what, it was such a nice question.... By the way, here is my mask right here...  and I liked it very much. I actually, honestly, I think I look better in the mask. I really did. I look better in the mask... but I’m making a speech so I won’t have it now, but I did have it on right here. And I think some of you might’ve gotten a shot. Thank you very much.
Got that? He'll give them self-deprecation — "I look better in the mask" — he's not going to let them take the means of Trump-deprecation into their own hands. That's the "pleasure" he knows they want. The most pleasurable thing for the press would be to catch Donald Trump in something like John Kerry's worst photo op:

Yup. Kerry in the space suit, Dukakis on the tank. Not gonna go there.

I've thought from the beginning he would not give the press the satisfaction of photographing him in a mask. And I think he's absolutely right.

The press seems to think this is some sort of vital national concern, but outside of the bubble (aka Trump-derrangement land) nobody really cares. And of course many of them are hypocrites when it comes to the whole mask wearing thing while the cameras aren't rolling.
It's all so tedious.

Yesterday, there was a video flying around of a young African-American male nurse punching young nursing home residents in MI. It went viral last night. James Woods brought it a lot of attention and even Trump tweeted about it. Detroit Police were forced to make an arrest. Seems it was being ignored.

And then… last night… The Michigan Attorney General is on CNN freaking out over Trump not wearing a mask at the Ford Plant. She doesn’t want him to return to the State. Unfortunately we have the same executive intellect running Wisconsin. Silence from Governor Ratched.

I can understand why. After ordering nursing homes to take COVID patients, neither of them want to use the words nursing and home in the same sentence. Masks wouldn’t save the poor residents.

The lakefront is completely open.

There just aren't any chairs and tables out at the Memorial Terrace (last time I looked). There's no food service there.

Plenty of places to walk and run and picnic with your own stuff. Plenty of benches that are permanently attached and ready to be sat in.

Not that many people out and about though. You don't need a mask. I see very few people (and almost none of them are wearing masks).

So you are a reporter following the President and you FINALLY get a chance to ask him a question that will likely be seen by MILLIONS of people! The most powerful man in the entire world and you get to ask him ANYTHING you want! You can ask about the economy, about the latest information on the virus, on international relations, Obamagate (right, who am I kidding), China, ANYTHING! Nope, this is what you choose to ask. What an idiot. This person should NEVER get to ask another question.

Had he been shot in the same suit but standing up looking at a machine. Perhaps with someone else in a bunny suit pointing something out, nobody would have thought twice.

He also does not have goggles and mask. The whole point of a bunny suit in a cleanroom is to contain any skin particles as they shed.

It's as fake a photo as the famous photo of Obama on a bicycle, supposedly enjoying a ride in the park, with a flat tire.

It was right around the time Kerry had sauntered into a small rural market and asked, on camera, in a fake southern like drawl, "Can I get me a huntin' license here?".

You know, like he was just one of the irredeemable deplorables.

It just showed how fake he was, similar to how he had called US soldiers in S Vietnam murderers akin to Genghis Khan and then tried to wrap himself in the Band of Brothers "Old Glory".

His fakeness was completely exposed in a way similar to the devastating ad of Li'l Mikey Dukakis getting his Alfred Neuman tank ride (with booster seat) while the scroll of key national defense systems he had opposed (basically ALL of them) rolled on the screen.

I just returned from the Land of the Mask People. The big city, for groceries, Home Depot, and Harbor Freight. Virtually everyone was masked. They got out of their cars with masks on. The loudspeaker in the grocery store kept repeating the same message, like something out of dystopian sci-fi: Attention citizens: For your safety, masks must be worn at all times. Stay 6 ft. away from the nearest shopper for their safety. Thank-you for your cooperation.

What struck me watching the lively zombies scurrying about was the realization these people are going to have a very hard time when it comes time to take the masks off. Brainwashed into thinking open faced breathing is a death sentence.

Trump isn't wearing a mask because he doesn't need to in the situation that he is in. Oudtoors, separated/distancing properly from other people, tested daily with good/negative results.

People wearing masks in public are either paranoid, have real medical issues and are acting prudently, or are doing it because the store/doctors office won't let you in other wise.

Many many more are just doing it for theater. Virtue signalling. See how GOOD I am! I am wearing a mask. Tsk tsk tsk at you for not doing the same.

In a perverse way, Trump, by not wearing his mask, is encouraging people or, anyway, Democrats to wear a mask....I think wearing a mask makes sense in enclosed spaces or maybe even in crowded outdoor places, but a lot of it is completely unnecessary. I suppose the thinking is that too much is better than not enough. But the media should reflect that too much coverage and politicizing of trivial issues is worse than not enough. Sometimes Trump looks crass and unappealing, but I've never seen him look worse than his press critics. They really are jerks.

The Media aren't asking about Masks because they're "DUMB".

They're asking because they're looking for the headline that attacks Trump. As in:

"Despite pleas of doctors, Trump refuses to wear Masks"
"Thousands die because Trump sets bad example"
"Trump denies Science, refuses to wear mask".

that's why they're asking questions. It was the same with HCQ-Zinc pack. The whole point of constantly asking questions was to have headlines like:

"Trump touts Dangerous drug that doesn't work"
"Trump uses Drug found to be useless and dangerous"
"Trump defies science, uses dangerous drug"

All these attacks are coordinated and echoed by the Biden and the Democrats.
