We're all doing what we can.

I don't recognize celebrities with few exceptions. Is the middle one Julia Roberts? That's one of the exceptions.

It's not Sandra Bullock. That's the other.

Who is the cross-eyed girl with the baby?

GatorNavy said...

The horror, the absolute horror of their brave sacrifice

chickelit said...

Let's hope they forego all that bad plastic surgery in order to free up more medical resources. That would be real sacrifice.

This is cruel. Revlon employees have to eat too.

I'm so inspired I'm considering giving up shaving for a day to show solidarity with our brave celebrities.

Titania is a national treasure.

"We're all doing what we can."

I get the Beatles "Revolution" reference, Althouse.

Who is the cross-eyed girl with the baby?

Wonder Woman, Gal "Imagine" Gadot.

I get the sense Gadot and Union wanted to display natural beauty, and they do, whereas Roberts wanted something earthier.

I hope the coronapocalypse doesn't end with Julia Roberts walking Hollywood Boulevard for real ...

The ending might not be so happy this time ...

Bob Boyd said...

Not to brag or anything, but I haven't worn make-up in I don't even know how long.

I went to the original postings. Some are not totally makeup free. Many may be makeup free, but not filter free as far as the camera goes. It's an ego boost, "look how good I look without trying to look good!"

I get the McGrath sarcasm, which I do enjoy.

I admit they all look pretty good, regardless of the fake "no makeup" look.

Bob: Thank you for your sacrifice.

I spent some time wondering what's that weird disc in front of the face of the one on the right. Finally, I recognized it as a baby head.

narciso said...

Thats ashley graham the plus sized model, cyndi crawford looks good, julianne moore ghastly.

Spiros said...

Without the Hollywood magic, these celebrities are just Youtube personalities (except much richer and, maybe, a little bit uglier and not as personable).

pacwest said...

This is meant to be humorous, right? Sometimes I can't tell.

pacwest said...

Give it a month and there are going to be less blondes on Fox News.

Spiros said...

Holy cow. Titania claims that 70% of Covid 19 deaths are male.

Ron Winkleheimer said...

I don't know who the people on the left and right are, but my first thought was that Julia Roberts looks pretty good without makeup.

exhelodrvr1 said...

TItania is a parody account

Bob Boyd said...

Bob: Thank you for your sacrifice.

It's the least I can do after all this country has done for me.
And it's easy for me. I have that sort of natural glow. You just can't fake that.

Doing more good than Drago anyway.

Finally, I recognized it as a baby head.

And you, a baby momma!

Wince said...

PHOTOGRAPHER: Ah well, you don't need any make-up for this.

CHRIS: Oh you know, you're probably right. I have ah, what's called combination skin, and that seems to have a glow of it's own under the lights.

Ralph L said...

Roberts wisely hid her neck.

tcrosse said...

So Julia, why the long face?

Star Ryan Reynolds joins other celebrities to "do what he can": Ryan Reynolds PSA.

rcocean said...

One benefit of not watching TV and rarely listening to pop music is you have no zero idea who the celebrities are. Isn't Julia Roberts the one with the wide fish mouth?

rcocean said...

Mitt Romney has also given up makeup. Where's his applause?

rcocean said...

Joy Behar could support the fight, by sewing her mouth shut.

elkh1 said...

Gosh, they are "not" pretty, not prettier than Jane Doe.

The make-up artists are some of the most essential people in the world: they beautify celebrities to make their cringe-inducing brainless pronouncements less intolerable.

JES said...

I know one out of three. At least they are pretty if they aren't all that famous. I gave up makeup the day I retired and now I wonder how I put up with all that gunk on my face.

MadisonMan said...

"Makeup-free" Uh huh. The best make-up is invisible.

Bob Boyd said...

Isn't Julia Roberts the one with the wide fish mouth?

I prefer to think of it as commodious.

Professional Lady said...

Titania nails it again.

Maillard Reactionary said...

OK Bob Boyd, I've always gone without makeup. So there.

I expect my moral responsibility to be properly recognized.

Bob Boyd said...

@ Phidippus

Thank you for your service, brother.

Leland said...

And I felt so bad giving up shaving everyday. However, like Bob Boyd, I gave up the makeup habit after that time my older sister turned me into her doll when I was about 3.

I've always thought Roberts'looks like Senor Wences' handpuppet "Johnny".

"S'aright?"

"S'aright!"

"S'OK?"

"S'OK!"

BUMBLE BEE said...

Besides, drugstore makeup has been stolen by the under $1000.00 shoplifting crowds. Are they Bernie voters?

BUMBLE BEE said...

Whoopie has taken up the shag toilet seat covers over the weaves. There's that.

Celebrities? I recognize one of the three.

The economy is in shreds, bodies pile up in Milan & NYC, people across the globe are fearful they'll be next, there is no toilet paper to be found, and now celebrities are going w/out make-up. But has anybody stopped and asked if Meghan Markle if she is okay?

Drago said...

If you liked that then I'm sure you loved Richard Libertini's portrayal of "General Garcia" in the original "The In-Laws" movie from 1979.

Drago said...

GingerBeer: "But has anybody stopped and asked if Meghan Markle if she is okay?"

There's no time for that!

We are still in the 6th trimester of John McCain's funeral!

Probably made in the same plants with different packaging.

Just me I am sure, but I think Titania is more attractive that all the other three. Git, she is.

I recognized some of 'em (mainly thanks to the daily skim of the Daily Mail) and all of their names, except for Ariel Winter. I wonder if there is a provision in the new stimulus law to subsidize those who've renounced the use of cosmetics.

I moisturize once or twice a week when I eat Mexican. I have five or six jalapeños and my skull breaks out in that sweet jalapeño sweat. I let it dry naturally while my skin glows and my hair gets all wet.

I'm 68 and have young-looking skin and a full head of hair.

Jalapeños.

My favorite so far is has been Arnold Schwarzenegger's PSA telling us all to stay home while he feeds his miniature horses homemade ravioli made by his personal chef. I'm sure all of the unemployed restaurant workers and hotel staff can take heart in that. It's been no swiss picnic for celebrities either!

Milwaukie guy said...

Swiss picnic?

Gk1 said...

Swiss National Day, est. 1891, is celebrated August 1st with a variety of outdoor activities. One of the most popular activies is eating, including picnics. This festive holiday is sometimes likened to the USA's Independence Day celebration, July 4th. We find no specific connotation/definition for the term "Swiss Picnic" apart from the general allusion above. Several Swiss-American organizations hold annual picnics. According the information uploaded to the Internet, these are festive celebrations welcoming family, friends and community. Perhaps this was the allusion Larry David meant in his quote from Curb Your Enthusiasm: "It's no Swiss Picnic for me, either."
