"The Biden 2020 campaign isn’t about following its nominal leader, or even listening to him; it’s about the party pushing him over the line collectively..."

"... and about making plans to give him the necessary support once he’s in office, as Booker’s endorsing statement alluded to in references to 'winning races up and down the ballot' and thinking of a presidential victory as the 'floor' rather than the 'ceiling' of Democratic Party potential. Biden’s sudden viability coincided with popular Democratic Montana Gov. Steve Bullock’s announcement that, after fending off months of entreaties to enter his state’s Senate race, he will go ahead and attempt to flip the seat, while Arizona and Maine flip-aspirants Mark Kelly and Sara Gideon have also expressed a preference for running down ballot of Biden rather than Sanders. Progressives eulogizing Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign have emphasized the prominent role that she can still play, going forward, in the Senate...."

Because with Biden as a barely-functional vegetable the Inter-agency Consensus can govern as it pleases. Much like the cloistered Ottoman Sultans in their last days, a squishy figurehead is a Feature to the Deep State, not a bug.

The real blacks, the ones who believe they alone have a call on quotas and welfare called in their chips.

The Democrats’ phony blacks, that is, white women and gays, have to be dealt out.

No, white ladies and gays, you aren’t “just like blacks under Jim Crow.” That was always bullshit.

"Joe Biden Has Cured Democrats of Their Belief in a Savior President" As with everything else, something that Joe Biden did not do. It is all happening around him.

Does anyone really care about Petty politics right now?

Even the Democrats know Biden is no good.

Do they really thing they can "push him over the finish line"?

I never thought I would say anything like this, but even Hillary was a better candidate than Joe. And she couldn't beat Trump.

Yes, a cunning plan to win back a majority in the Senate. Perhaps they aren't as dumb as I thought. Not sure why they let Sanders run as a Democrat in the first place.

Joe Biden certainly looks like he has been cured perhaps at the Hormel Austin plant.

Haha I knew Bullock would run. Steve Daines did too. And now all sorts of people around the country know who Bullock is now. He planned it perfectly.

MT Gop is freaking out, cranking out hysterical missives via email and Facebook.

Yay team.

Joe Biden Has Cured Democrats of Their Belief in a Savior President

They're not rejecting a Savior President.

They just couldn't find one this year.

Biden's campaign enters the ICU phase.

Heroic measures and 'round-the-clock care must be provided.

Joe at this point is a figurehead. He's obviously not capable of doing this job or pretty much any job in his current physical and mental state, and when he had full control of his faculties he was a fine example of a mediocre man, at best.

It's interesting to watch the Democratic Party take on more and more supervillain tropes. This year's primary sounds more like something Lex Luthor would do than a serious effort. Sadly they are serious.

Keep him confortable.

I remember when Beto was the Savior President.

That was a fun week.

Hillary was smarter and better prepared than Biden. Didn't do her a lot of good. Politics is about feelz. I feelz your pain.

And now his campaign manager is bidens

The Democrats have always been about power, nothing else really matters.

They always do this. It's pretty much a standard fundraising ploy. The world will end if you do not send us $25, $35, $50, or more. For some reason I ended up on a Democrat Party mailing list and it's the same things but with different reasons and names. It's fundraising by Mad Libs.

I'm Joe Biden and I'm running for nominal leader!

Maybe a cognitively diminished old man isn't such a bad idea for president. They've conquered their emotions unlike whip-smart whippersnappers. They help Democrats overcome delusions, and they encourage teamwork. Ok.

Joe will be a good figure head if they keep him out of the TV shows.

So how is he going to sign/veto legislation?

Shouldn't there be some baseline level of understanding?

TreeJoe said...

If ever there was a candidate where politicians and bureaucrats can breathe a sigh of relief and feel confident the status quo won't be threatened, it's Biden. The guy hasn't pushed an internally trans-formative initiative in 50 years - unless it meant giving more power to existing people and institutions.

Time for someone to pin a note to Biden's sweater and drop him off at the racetrack.

Why do they need Biden at all?

Interesting question. Hypothetically grounds for "mental incompetence" challenges to signed legislation?

Speaking of cures, how's he doing on that cancer cure?
Or was that the other Biden?

It's weekend at Bernie's..err..Biden's.

Instead of Biden, they could nominate Generic Democrat, who did so well in the polls against Trump.

Maybe Robert Mueller can be his Attorney General.

Of course Mueller is a Republican, but I hear he's very receptive to subordinates' ideas.

and then allowing each bureaucratic government office teeming with little Dukes & Duchesses employed for life to wrestle back control of the country, allowing the monies to flow back to the people they have always flowed to, and keeping out any non-approved entities. Biden will be discarded shortly after election, and a new, more malleable face will be installed as the next President (it'll have to be a woman of color, possibly a trans, body disabled person).

They would prefer the Chinese style of government.

But they are forced to deal with this stupid voters voting thing.

Pressed the flesh with lots of new money. He's a quiet, nice looking cypher who will now get boatloads of cash from the usual suspects.

And stevew, a party cannot control who files and runs under its banner. If a candidate wants to pay the filing fee in every state the party can't stop him.
