Colbert forgot the one clue that would have worked on Elizabeth Warren: Doesn't wear pants.

Stupid.

Yet on at least one spectrum.

And a sociopath.

Two multimillionaires play the billionaire game. Irony.

If Colbert would suck up to the dems just a little bit more he would almost, almost, reach LLR-lefty Chuck levels of democrat "suck-uppery".

See, she doesn't know comics, no sense of humor at all.

Yancey Ward said...

Warren's inability to think outside the box is why she couldn't get the last one- all the others were real people, and then Colbert tripped her up with a fictional character. Pretty much all of us might have stumbled on that one given the long set up.

Rory nails it.

Surprised Colbert didn't have his clues better lined up.

I dislike Colbert as much as ever, but Warren comes across as very likeable here. I assume she is promoting it.

Boys vs. girls. I never noticed that about Scrooge McDuck and he was my favorite (really only) comic book character. Great family history was often written into storylines, and he just seemed like the only Disney character I could relate to.

I first read that as "... suck-puppetry"

It's quite okay to dislike them both.

I thought it was incredibly funny. I thought the Steyer guess was pretty good based on the guess.

Probably pissed off Bezos and Zuckerberg to the point they will reveal anything she's ever said in the presence of her phone or electronic device of any kind.

How is one supposed to be neutral, cruel or otherwise, when one is convinced that at least two of the candidates espouse policies and positions that would destroy the country's economy and abridge the personal freedoms and property rights of the citizenry? I'm having trouble seeing the fun in that.

Cute and funny. She got them all except Scrooge McDuck. Some folks just are humorless dolts.

Most relatable video of Warren I've ever seen. Relaxed, a bit funny and NOT the scolding schoolmarm.

She should try it more often on the stump.

The Very Forgetful Inga: "Some folks just are humorless dolts."

LOL

Yes. Inga wrote that. Just now. As if the last 4 years never happened at all.

Known Unknown said...

It was fun, but not hilarious. The closest to a laugh was Steyer.

But yes, the game itself is stupid.

JAORE: "Most relatable video of Warren I've ever seen. Relaxed, a bit funny and NOT the scolding schoolmarm."

Colbert is essentially a DNC operative at this point. Plus, it was not live. Plus it could always be dumped if it didn't go well.

Warren had every reason to believe that it was all going to go smooth as silk with one of her teammates. Why wouldn't she feel relaxed?

Drago said...

Inga: "The Very OCDrago just can’t help himself."

I'm quite sure you'd like for everyone else to forget what you've written over the last 4 years, but that isn't going to happen.

You continue to cement your position as the least self-aware poster at Althouseblog, narrowly edging out LLR-lefty Chuck.

Not surprisingly, both of you were banned. I wonder if there is some sort of correlation there?

Inga said...

OCDrago can’t get out of his own overly political mindset for even a few minutes a day. I can only imagine how obsessively the many butthurts of these last four year keep playing in his brain, over and over and over again...

My cousin's liberal Democrat wife posted on Facebook how much she loved this clip and was thrilled with Warren. I didn't have the heart to tell her that in the latest poll, she's trailing Bernie by a point... In Massachusetts.

Drago said...

Lefty Inga: "OCDrago can’t get out of his own overly political mindset for even a few minutes a day."

LOL

Yeah, Russian Collusion Truther Inga wrote that on a day where the rest of left is running with this:

"Let's Call It Trumpvirus"
"If you're feeling awful, you know who to blame"

These are two people I actually loathe. I can't believe I watched that entire video waiting for something other than a tv host holding the hand of a Democrat. That is Colbert's entire career. Democrat hand-holder.

And there's nothing like watching Liz play games. Like when she showed us how she drinks beer. That was a fun game. Or when she told me I didn't build that. That was one I'll never forget.

Loathe.

I did enjoy the "Oh, Gosh, that's so many." It kind of made me realize how men must seem to her. Pretty much the way she seems to men.

Scrooge McDuck is exactly the image so much of the left have of wealth, and the wealthy. The money doesn't do anyone any good, it just sits in a vault where the immoral billionaire can roll around in it.

The really funny part is where Colbert never ever interviews anyone on the "right" with such pant-less soft-touch.

Lets watch Colbert have fun with.... Ted Cruz (never) or Trump (never) or Pence (never) or Rand Paul (never) or any R anywhere/ ever? (never.)

fair and balanced propaganda TV for the D! so fun.

A few years ago - My hairdresser suggested I watch "Peter Rabbit" the movie. She said, *giggle giggle* - the cute little bunnies wear cute little jackets... but they don't wear pants!

Yeah - kinda cute. See now, I've already heard it. From my hairdresser, who would make a much better president than the female version of Commie-Bernie. Also, stop stealing my jokes, and stop stealing my hairdresser's jokes. +++ most cartoon characters DON'T WEAR PANTS.

Colbert was a warm and fuzzy cock-holster. He's obviously used to it.

Yeah......that was more awkward than spontaneous.

I’ve played games like these (e.g. password, Taboo), and while I get Colbert was doing a bit, I was too distracted by his lousy clues.

JaimeRoberto said...

I dislike them both, so I'm predisposed to disliking the video. It wasn't horrible, though I dislike the demonization of rich people.

And Colbert, the reason nobody knows where Steyer got his money, is because the media are remarkably incurious about things they don't want to know the answer to.

J. Farmer said...

I’ve liked Colbert since his days on Strangers with Candy, and I liked him on The Colbert Report. But I don’t like him on late night or the trend of late night basically becoming a combination of The Daily Show and SNL’s “Weekend Update.”

Iman said...

I can't decide whether it's Warren's hair-don't or her face - maybe a combination of both - that brings Shemp Howard to mind every time I see her

Iman said...

Colbert was funny on "Strangers With Candy", but I've never seen him on anything else.

How Elizabeth Warren Built A $12 Million Fortune

we also learn Bernie wants to confiscate 50% of the wealth of millionaires between 10 and 50 million, but will not touch the dreaded billionaire class. Bernie- the fraud.

Ken B said...

“ You need to join me in the practice of cruel neutrality. It's much more fun.”

If cruel neutrality were real you'd see the irony of multi millionaires playing the billionaire game.

Ken B said...

There is not much I find funny with Colbert. He could read Catch-22 aloud and I doubt I’d laugh once. The only less funny person in human history was Robin Williams.

Maybe if he fell in a threshing machine I might giggle.

It was funny because Warren didn't realize Colbert was making her look like an idiot and that the joke was on her.

It was also funny because two globalist tools who have never produced a useful thing in their lives were ripping on people who have substantially improved the lives of millions of people.

Warren and Colbert are worse than useless people. They are pure douchebags who want to tear down the prosperity built by other people.

Scrooge McDuck is more useful to society than they and their supporters are.

This was funny, but trying to play the same game with Biden would be cruel. Elder abuse.

Okay, even with Colbert, that would be funny.

Colbert is an Afghanistani pocket-boy for the democrats.

Except he is willing. Those poor boys in Afghanistan are raped.

He should just tattoo "glory hole" on his upper lip.

It gets even more mysterious. The modern Roman lowercase alphabet was developed at that time and place yet is usually called Caroline minuscule.

If this side actually came out instead of the sober Hilary persona, she’s be winning the nomination. Oh well.

I detest Liz Warren, but this was actually funny. If Althouse hadn't given away the "doesn't wear pants" clue, I probably would have laughed out loud.

LA_Bob said...

Yes, it was funny. Warren had fun, and it showed. Won't win her many votes though.

I recall Hillary doing some "humanizing" things like this, and sometimes it worked. There was some sitcom she played in briefly, acting as bartender I think. She had a good presence and seemed to enjoy the role.

But in politics her acting skills bombed. Warren has the same problem.

Many here have noted how much Trump enjoys himself. It seems genuine, and it really helps his image.

She seemed very real right there. It's interesting that she is unable to do that on the campaign trail.

Ken B - Agreed, Robin Williams was seriously unfunny.

Charlie said...

They demonize the billionaires and yet the billionaires are the key to Liz's plans for EVERYTHING. Very odd.

Ken B said...

Here is what rubs me wrong about this. Warren is running against named individuals. She ran an ad showing Henry Kravitz's home, attacking his right to own it. She runs against private citizens, by name. And this shits and giggles attitude, that her campaign to use the government to punish named private citizens for no crime at all is cute and funny, bothers me.

This is incorrect. Progressives take a box somebody else built and set about taking it over.

Warren reminds me of the bitch of an ex wife, initials HRC, that took you through fucking hell trying to get rid of her, and now you want somebody just like her? That would be a hard no.

Imagine Warren after she loses on election night, what will it be then? On the plus side, she won’t be drunk.
