The apartments name is clever. That said... I know what I say now amounts to heresy... but OMG, TBL has to be the most overrated film of all time. I laughed a bit exactly once, right near the beginning (something like "he said I could take any carpet I wanted"), but otherwise every single moment was actively painful for me and my wife until we fell asleep about 2/3 of the way through. I appreciate a good cult film as much as the next guy, but GAH! So frickin awful.
These new places must be where the Coasties live. The Sconnies probably still live on Dayton and Mifflin and the many other streets with a poverty level vibe.
Thanks for the link to the old Cap Times article. I'd never heard of this place but was just out for a walk and ran into it. I wish there were more oddball things in this town — mellow, amusing things, I mean.
My guess is "aimed at the aging hipster demographic."
Check it out on Google Maps. 902 Drake St., Madison. Respectfully, I don't see any space allocated for the hipster requisite saunas, and hot tubs. The units look fairly small as well.
It's within staggering distance of Camp Randall.
I'll bet my kids could pick Annette Funicello out of a police line-up.

my questions:
For dudes only? Can chicks live there? what about transgendered?
As long as preferred pronoun ==>>> Duuude
Outstanding!
That apartment building really tied the neighborhood together, did it not.
Nooooooooo.

Where the answer to the question - Mind if I do a J? - is always YES,

@Qwinn, total agreement. I have co-workers who start raving about it and I'm just like "Why?" They cannot explain.
In my sphere "Dude" is a decidedly gender neutral term. It is almost as versatile as 'fuck', so many meanings from simple changes in inflection.
As for the movie, loved it the first time I saw it, and every time since. My copy came in and is stored in a bowling ball shaped container.
Must be the French spelling of dud.
I hope you finally stopped in for some instant ramen at the Asian Midway across the street.
Here's an article in the Cap Times about that funny name.
"Sir, your rent is past due."
"Mark it zero."
"Excuse me sir?"
"You think I'm fucking around here? MARK IT ZERO! MARK IT FUCKING ZERO!"
"You are entering a world of pain ... A world of pain."
Must be the French spelling of dud.
No. That's dudé. Pronounced much like bucket and bigboote
I think a lot of guys want to be The Dude but don't have the gift.
Sign me up for a Big Lebowski suite. The Coen brothers would be proud.

This is ridiculous. The name establishes the tone and image for the building. The developer would have been better off using a random name generator.
Lemme guess........aimed at student housing demographic?? A frat house without a pledge period?
aimed at THE student housing demographic.

I returned mine last Friday. GF admitted it didn't match my eyes, but blamed the lighting.

Did you run into it or walk into it? I once walked into a building and almost broke my nose.

TDS harshed it up most likely.

Maybe the new year will bring an uptick.

Seems unlikely. How many people under 35 have even seen the film? My guess is "aimed at the aging hipster demographic."
Does every room have a missing carpet?
FWIW, my 29 year old son loves this flick. But his taste in writing, music and film covers a WIDE spectrum.
Are the perpetually offended screeching yet?
