Marianne Williamson drops out because, she says, she "will not be able to garner enough votes in the election to elevate our conversation any more than it is now."

Full statement here.

She was a delightful presence in the race, and I have a special delight in her leaving, because she said that word, "garner."

Did her message also include the word "love"?... which, speaking of words, I associate with her because of this epic debate moment...

Answer: Yes. It's the last thing she says: "A politics of conscience is still yet possible. And yes….love will prevail."

She seemed sincere and positive, but I don't think the Dems are particularly interested in either of those qualities at this point. Instead they seem obsessed with defeating Trump at any cost and pursuing an extreme, delusional agenda of free everything for everybody (except guns).

Well...any cost EXCEPT offering a viable alternative.

What is "a politics of conscience"?

So now who's going to strap Trump into the love harness?

She wasn't Progressive enough....@marwilliamson: “What does it say that the conservatives are nicer to me? I’m a serious lefty but they are so — I understand why people on the right called them godless — I mean, it’s like, I didn’t think the left was as mean as the right, they are.”

She's the only candidate from either party that I've donated to -- not because I wanted to see her win, but because she was a delightful change. Sorry to see her go.

Also, I'm becoming more convinced that this election is going to go a lot like 1984. Not quite as overwhelming, but I'm pretty sure we're not going to be hearing about "But the popular vote!" or the antiquity of the Electoral College after November.

The fact that she had anything above .00001% support is a sad commentary on something or other.

"What is "a politics of conscience"?"

It's just like politics, except it suggests that your political opponents have no conscience.

Cause that's what love is.

Sorry but she was SO wrong. Trump did not harness fear, he was [and is] the answer to the fear that millions of Americans have about what the Democrats have and will continue to do to America.

As is typical of lefties/liberals, she completely misunderstands the issue and proscribes a completely incorrect solution, and is so absolutely sure in her misunderstanding that no one can tell or show her otherwise.

Nice woman, mugged by reality.

True, but Trump has elicited tremendous fear among the Democrats and GOPe because he threatens their current and future livelihood.

Their TDS is not irrational. It is in pursuit of their corrupt interests.

The only true TDS suffers are the ones who believe the Media bullshit and have not financial interest in Deep State politics.

That was a very "womanly" answer in that it demonstrates much of how the average woman thinks.

Where you saw a "delightful presence" others saw a pretty tyrant but a tyrant none the less, that was just as beholden and enslaved by ruinous leftist ideas as everyone else on that stage.

Though I guess "at this point, what difference does it make?"

I won't try to guess at how many states Trump wins, but I bet that in 2020, he does better in all 50 states than he did in 2016.

Bay Area Guy cites: "I mean, it’s like, I didn’t think the left was as mean as the right, they are.”

Let us not forget this is Williamson's revised tweet. Her first complaint about meanness (a word that should only be used by children) was about her fellow leftists. It was not until the someone influential (probably Tom Perez) privately expressed outrage at the blue-on-blue attack that Williamson "clarified" her opinion.

Marianne is a bullshitter as well as a dangerous idiot. Good riddance.

She needed to show a variability about this Love thing. It's not just All you Need is Love. Change the rotation.

Sometimes it's Love Hurts. Or Love Train. Or Message of Love. Or Lovin Every Minute of It (which, I confess, is not my cohort)

There's a lot of distinct Love cohorts she needed to bring into the tent.

Young Marianne Williamson was kinda wild and crazy. From Wiki:

In 1973, Williamson—an active antiwar protester—dropped out of college and lived "a nomadic existence" during what she calls "her wasted decade."[13][17][19] She moved to New Mexico, where she took classes at the University of New Mexico and lived in a geodesic dome with her boyfriend.[19][15] She broke up with her boyfriend a year later and moved to Austin, Texas, where she took classes at the University of Texas.[15] After leaving Texas, she went to New York City, intending to pursue a career as a cabaret singer, but got distracted by "bad boys and good dope."[13][20]

Marianne Williamson said that "Love will prevail".

I have questions:

Maybe she is right and love will prevail. But who knows what love wants? What makes Marianne so sure that she knows what love wants?

My other question is about the concept of love: My understanding is that it's an abstract concept. How do abstract concepts have a will? Would that be sort of a compound or meta-abstract construct?

It really is baffling to me.

The "power of love" is a dual-use WMD, deployed alternately with positive and negative feedback. Hate is love... Death is life... Terror is peace. It's all very politically congruent.

First of all, my posts turn up in threads I haven't responded to. Something's happening here, what it is not's exactly clear...Anyway, forget Marianne. Let's talk about Tulsi. Media was calling her a combat soldier. I e-mailed her campaign and asked WTF. They apologized and explained she was a medic assigned to a hospital unit, not a line unit. That's very important. Every soldier loves medics. Line or behind the line. Do not however say you are combat anything if you were not that. Tulsi's campaign was gracious and corrected the media. Whaddya gonna do? I sent her $100. Least I could do. Her campaign was honest...I think she is honest. MAGA Trump 2020

As usual, the kindest thing to say would be that you don't know what you're talking about. President Trump talks about love all the time. I remember when he talked about loving the poorly educated. I remember the reaction of people like you. It wasn't very loving.
