"Suleimani was the architect and operational commander of the Iranian effort to solidify control of the so-called Shia crescent, stretching from Iran to Iraq through Syria into southern Lebanon. He is responsible for providing explosives, projectiles, and arms and other munitions that killed well over 600 American soldiers and many more of our coalition and Iraqi partners just in Iraq, as well as in many other countries such as Syria.... [Trump's] reasoning seems to be to show in the most significant way possible that the U.S. is just not going to allow the continued violence—the rocketing of our bases, the killing of an American contractor, the attacks on shipping, on unarmed drones—without a very significant response.... Iran is in a very precarious economic situation, it is very fragile domestically.... It will be interesting now to see if there is a U.S. diplomatic initiative to reach out to Iran and to say, 'Okay, the next move could be strikes against your oil infrastructure and your forces in your country—where does that end?'... Obviously all sides will suffer if this becomes a wider war, but Iran has to be very worried that—in the state of its economy, the significant popular unrest and demonstrations against the regime—that this is a real threat to the regime in a way that we have not seen prior to this.... Yes, they can respond and they can retaliate, and that can lead to further retaliation—and that it is clear now that the administration is willing to take very substantial action. This is a pretty clarifying moment in that regard.... Given the state of their economy, I think they have to be very leery, very concerned that that could actually result in the first real challenge to the regime certainly since the Iran-Iraq War...."

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 468 Newer› Newest»The new meme from the Media and Democrats is that Trump made a rash decision to off Soleimani.
How can it be rash? Military Intelligence has been planning this for years.
My wife (a Democrat) worked with Trump in the 1980's. She doesn't like him in the least. However she has described him as very calculating - anything but rash. His presentation as an impulsive speaker is meant to throw people off.
Ah, ARM is going for the USA exists explanation.
Except that, history started before then.
"Bin Laden was responsible for the 2,977 deaths. Have you people completely lost your bearings? You’re lost."
It would have been zero if Clinton just did what Trump did when he had the chance.
He still needed killing, but Bin Laden was not an active threat when he was killed.
It will now be zero going forward for Soleimani, and he was a very active threat. In fact, the biggest threat, and now no more.
I hate to bring up facts and all, but it does answer the question: "who is really lost?"
ARM forgets that the US intervention in the ME started only after 911.
No it’s we exist and have embassies.
Seeing: "Except that, history started before then."
Indeed. According to ARM and his pals, tbe US "started" in 1619.
Probably due to historical emanations from penumbras.
It took the world a very, very long time to agree to “don’t kill the messenger.”
One of the game changers is we are more energy self-sufficient this time.
It's OK to attack US embassies as long as they are not in the U.S. (or at least on this side of the ocean) It's the water that makes the difference.
Let me repeat what others have already said:
If Obama had ordered Soleimani's killing, he would have been widely praised
Does anyone who's brain is not rotten with TDS deny this?
We are reaching peak levels of absurdity.
even air support in bosnia and Kosovo, that wasn't particularly appreciated was it, that was al quedas first theatre of operations, back in the 90s, ubl, ksm, zawahiris bros, all operated there
It's OK to kill 4 of our people in Benghazi while out money whoring for international cash. Susan Rice and the hack press have a fake excuse all manufactured.
and a shadowy character to take the fall.
I'm glad the fuckers wasted. It's a big bold risky move. It could turn out right, wrong or indifferent. The Iranians have to respond big if they wish to maintain hegemonic dominance. We will see. Trump owns the hole kettle of fish now and the outcome will determine the President election. Sushi, he wins... nuoc mam, he loses
If it’s the water that makes the difference, we can’t protect ourselves because putting up the new sonar interferes with the whales, etc.
Unless that’s changed.
So what do we do, ARM?
Call all our subs home to patrol?
“One of the game changers is we are more energy self-sufficient this time.”

“BEIRUT (AP) — Major stock markets in the Middle East traded down on fears of a conflict between Iran and the U.S. after an American drone strike killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
The Boursa Kuwait closed down 4%. The Dubai Financial Market closed down just over 3%. Riyadh's Tadawul was down over 2%. The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange fell 1.42%.
Egypt's stock exchange also fell 4%.
Meanwhile, oil prices continued to rise. Brent crude traded up 3.5% to $68.60 a barrel.”

Except that handing pallets of cash and hosting them in the WH didn’t work.
How many hostile actions must be taken by the enemy before America responds? How many American deaths before the situation is deemed unacceptable, Lefties?
Drago wants Iran to retaliate on civilian targets in the US rather than US military targets overseas.
It's because the civilians will be coastal elites whom he wants dead.
Inga is so stupid she thinks global oil and gas spot prices determine whether or not the US is energy independent!
LOLOLOLOL
And she once again demonstrates that by posting irrelevant information from sources she doesnt understand!!
How funny is that?
Oh, noes! The Egyptian stock market is down.
Remember the first word out of these leftists mouth after the consulate was attacked: Benghazi!
As if Benghazi was a scandal. Which it was.
But when Obama and Hillary were in charge Benghazi was not a scandal to these people.
Now we are a few days later and these assholes have completely forgotten our embassy was attacked.
Conveniently.
Everything that they do and say is about their power over other people. They don’t have a single moral or principle other than power.
They are enemies.
Umm, our stock market fell, too.
Did you expect all the markets to go up?
I don’t understand you posting that.
Anything that happens, gas will tick up like clockwork.
What I said was we are more energy self-sufficient this time.
The rest of the world might be squeezed more, but let’s face it, it’s an opportunity for windmills and solar to shine.
The best part is, if anyone trots out it’s for oil is stupid. We don’t need it.
Well, NYC needs it, they’ve passed stupid pipeline laws.
"How many hostile actions must be taken by the enemy before America responds? How many American deaths before the situation is deemed unacceptable, Lefties?"
Let me answer for them, since I'm absolutely positive of the answer because I can read what they say today and what they said before. The answer is: It depends on what party is in the White House.
Does anybody really dispute that?
You people are quick to jump on the Deep State NeroCon war bandwagon to fellate Trump.
Sick fucks
Except for the likes of Robert Cook or Freder maybe.
’The Egyptian stock market is down.’
Impeach 45!!
High oil prices being bad for us is so 1980s.
Benghazi has nothing to do with Iran, shithead.
Howard: "Drago wants Iran to retaliate on civilian targets in the US rather than US military targets overseas.
It's because the civilians will be coastal elites whom he wants dead."
Whats most astonishing about these posts from history began yesterday/projection lefties is that was EXACTLY what the lefties did in the wake of 9-11 where many on the left complained that it was the red states that should have been targeted because the red states elected that "Hitler/War Criminal/Idiot/Cant Read/Doesnt know anything/corrupt W Bush who also had articles of impeachment drafted for him.
So, once again, as always, Howie gets it precisely backward.
Unexpectedly.
I am going to chalk it up to post-Patriots game depression.
And ANWR is just sitting there, waiting.
The world is awash in oil, Inga.
Even Israel has a pipeline.
Close the Straits.
If Venezuela was marginally functioning....

Let's try to think this through. There is an enormous ocean and a whole continent between us and Iraq. How did 'they' start it?
********************
OK, let's think this through.
Iran "started it" when they committed an act of war on us back in the Carter era, when they invaded our embassy and took its diplomatic people hostage for over a year. They have been hostile to us ever since.
In case you were n a coma back then, Iraq "started it" by invading Kuwait with the intent of
capturing its oil reserves, and then moving on to the emirates and Saudi Arabia. At the time both the US and Europe were utterly dependent on access to the oil those countries produced.
Saddam sought to deny us that access.
Al Qaeda "started it" when they attacked us on 9-11.
If that's not "casus belli" I don't know what the eff is.
Original Mike: "High oil prices being bad for us is so 1980s."
LOL
That is going to completely flummox Inga.

Howard - you do realize the left went into full coordinated Maddow "Trump's Benghazi!" after news broke about the shithead's untimely blow-up... right?
It really CANNOT be denied that the Left, in one voice, from sea to shining fucking sea, on every fucking network, in every fucking newspaper, proclaimed that the attack on the Iraqi Embassy was "Trump's Benghazi".
For about 24 hours.
Then it turned out that Trump actually protected this Embassy, and killed the tucker what done it. Which literally does make it the Anti-Benghazi.
Lefties aren't calling it "Trump's Benghazi" anymore. What's curious is the complete lack of apology or shame or acknowledgment that what made the original Benghazi scandalous, and what Obama and Hillary did that was so spectacularly wrong, has now been illustrated in sharp relief. Nope. They spin the narrative 180 degrees and keep right on rolling as if nothing they said was ever even one microscopic bit wrong.
Because they are traitors. All of them.
Actually, Iraq did go into SA back then, IIRC.
"Why is it OK for Iran to occupy Iraq?"
Why has it ever been OK for the U.S. to occupy Iraq? Why was it OK for the U.S. to invade Iraq?
The answers: it isn't and wasn't ever OK (or legal) for us to invade or occupy Iraq.
Howard: "Benghazi has nothing to do with Iran, shithead."
How can you possibly be this stupid? Soleimani helped to plan the attack at Benghazi.
For that matter, 8 of the 10 9-11 hijackers utilized transit routes thru Iran with the cooperation of the Iranian govt.
Seriously, it must take actual work to maintain this level of invincible ignorance.
It wasn’t “legal” to invade Morocco, but we did that, too.
Now we revert to “legal.”
It wasn’t “legal” to attack embassies in 1979, either.
I am afraid Howard is approaching the Inga-Ignorance Limit and my recommendation is for him to turn back now while there is still time....
All the blathering about Trump getting us out of the Mideast and not starting new foreign wars. Pffft, gone like a malodorous fart. The bloodlust was ways just beneath the surface. I’m glad your masks have slipped.
The Iranian leadership is not rational. Does not make them stupid or blind to reality but they use a different picture frame to view the world and its interaction with Shia history. Anyways, putting a price on Trump’s head is their way of declaring war without declaring war which would result in their total destruction.
And for Drago, it’s just another Manic Sunday...
"Saddam Hussein was a bad guy, too. That didn't make overthrowing him a good idea."
Agree. A ruthless dictator who is controlling the Islamists is better than a theocracy which is not.
True, in fact, Trump's response to "Trump's Benghazi" was to kill the fucker responsible for both "Trump's Benghazi" AND "Hillary's Benghazi".
It doesn't get much more winning than that, really.
The only promise Trump has broken to me is the one where he said I'd get sick of all the winning. Not yet, Donald, you magnificent bastard.
"The best part is, if anyone trots out it’s for oil is stupid. We don’t need it."
It's still always about oil, (among other considerations, such as global geopolitical dominance), because it's always about the money and about control of the market.
I've had enough of your lies and inuendo, Drago. I have never been nor will I ever be a Patriots fan. We cheered when Brady throwed that pic six.

&- you are welcome to make the argument, if you must, that the Iranian general provided stability.
Consider what our current mission in Iraq supposedly is. We are operating there under a security arrangement with Iraq to assist them with defeating ISIS. That was the purpose for redeploying troops to Iraq in 2014. ISIS exists in the first place because the governments we are aligned with in the region, the Gulf Arab states, worked to bring down the government in Syria. The resulting collapse of the Syrian state allowed the Caliphate to exist where it had not before.
Obama's decision to back the Arab states in this foolish endeavor was among his biggest foreign policy blunders. Another was his decision to give a green light to the Saudi war on Yemen, which continues to this day, has gotten tens of thousands of Yemenis killed, caused food insecurity for millions (Saudis use starvation as a weapon of war), and has empowered Sunni jihadist groups in Yemen.
Exactly what part of American involvement in the middle east for the last 20 years has contributed to stability?
Benghazi has nothing to do with whatever is going on now. You people add it to the list of excuses for a deep State war with Iran. Bolton's twirling his pornstash.
Howard: "Benghazi has nothing to do with whatever is going on now."
Thats not what you said earlier dummy.
Keep them goalposts a-movin!!
Benghazi has nothing to do with Iran, shithead.

ARM: "They all 'utilized transit routes thru US cities with the full cooperation of Federal, State and local governments'."
True. Tbe Clintonites and their Gorelick Wall" made sure of that.

It's always nice to hear the communist point of view. We can start there.
Iraq invaded Kuwait and was on the way to Saudi once they had refueled their tanks and replaced tracks. Now that we have fracking, which the Democrats want to stop, we no longer are dependent on Mideast oil. At that time, it was too dangerous to see the world's oil supply in the hands of a murderous dictator (two of them) so we stopped them. The armistice was repeatedly violated by Saddam after the war so we invaded.
Try to imagine if France had invaded the Rhineland when Hitler decided to occupy it. Te=ry to imagine the millions of people who might not have died if Hitler had backed off, or as is more likely, was deposed by his generals.
I know,. You can't because you know no history.
Bwaaaaa Trump didn’t start it.
This argument is like the RR threw out the crazies in the 80s.
Trump did not wake up and tell the Pentagon, “I’m felling frisky today, take out (opens drawer takes out a dart and throws it at the dartboard and it landed on Soleimani).”
2 things happened before that.
1. Our embassy was attacked. They brought in Port-a potty‘s and food and tents for the long-haul.
2. Soleimani made, in reflection, a poor decision. He flew in from Lebanon with some of his...associates...from Lebanon to Iraq.
If that man was as smart and cunning as everyone thinks, Soleimani’s first clue that it was an unwise decision should have been the
1. 3 helicopters with marines landing.
2. BONUS because it didn’t take 29 calls for help unlike Benghazi.
3. Staying too long.
4. Flying out of Baghdad Int’l.
5. The US knowing the flights some of the associates came in on.
6. Thinking he was more beloved, protected, than he was.
Who squealed?
Admiral Inga has run out of her own words again (its smart for her to just stop talking)

I thought it was the ChiComs? Didn’t they just cut a deal?
Robert Cooke said: "It's still always about oil, ... because it's always about the money and about control of the market."
OK, I'm game. Please explain how our current deployment in the Middle East is about oil.
Drago requires his info prechewed and spoon-fed. He likes driving the car while looking in the rearview mirror.
I think Howard needs to step away from the gin bottle. No need to drown your sorrows, Howard. There is always next season.
The US needs the global economy to pay the bills.
Everyone needs the global economy to pay bills.
Seeing Brown: The ChiComs are not a key part of the global economy.
The Raiders and Warriors have been out of it since last summer, Doc. Please try and keep up
That's good Seeing Brown. Therefore ipso ergo facto we need to protect the Saudi Oil.
"It's always nice to hear the communist point of view. We can start there."
Indeed. And iver the last 24 hours the WWP/ANSWER crew staged rallies in 70 locations across the US to voice their support for the mass murdering islamic supremacist terrorist.
Note: these are rallies on the left that Inga claims dont exist...which is very interesting since Inga presents herself as someone who can not only read minds (You dont know what Mueller knows!!) but can also do the work of God in judging the hearts and minds and thoughts of others.
Which is impressive.
Drago posts with 20/20 hindsight... like the brave bureaucrat he longs to be
Howard: "Drago requires his info prechewed and spoon-fed."
Howard has deep independent connections within the global intel world and thats how he knows there are no islamic terrorists, only OrangeManBad.
Well, that and Ingas daily Mindreading reports.
Howard: Drago posts with 20/20 hindsight... like the brave bureaucrat he longs to be"
LOL
The democrats/lefties/LLR-lefties have spent 3 straight years telling us our bureaucrats are the bravest most courageous human beings that have ever existed.
The dems just completed their sham-peachment "hearings" where they parade these "brave and courageous heroes" before the cameras for a week straight!!
Again, it must be asked: how do you get everything 100% reversed from reality and then maintain that? Its incredible.
You people really are stupid. Saying the US ME adventure is NOT about the oil is the #1 Neocon Deep State talking point. Nice to know that you people are back to the LLR fold.
Where did u get that idea?
I’m not the one who said the world needs Saudi Oil.
There’s enuf oil in the world to replace them. And we don’t need it. If the ChiComs want to step up, fine by me.
Besides, aren’t some of their wells beginning to run dry?
They see the future.
If Venezuela was functioning...even less of an issue.
It’s less than impressive that Manic Drago thinks others are mind readers, yet he has no self awareness at all. He accuses everyone he thinks is liberal of saying and thinking things he pulls out of his ass. He does it everyday, multiple times a day.
it's a gift I tell you, now I posted the explainer to the parliament vote, and a number of other elements that challenge the narrative, do I have an answer, we know what hasn't worked, we know the Syrian islamists like nusra front or whatever they are calling themselves have not hesitated to take out quds personnel, when the opportunity availed itself,

Qassem Soleimani: Inside the twisted, terrible reign of Iran’s top general
By Kenneth R. Timmerman - January 4, 2020
Former Iranian intelligence officers told me about Soleimani’s direct involvement in planning, financing and directing the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on US diplomatic and intelligence facilities in Benghazi, Libya, where four Americans were killed.
At the time, writing in these pages, I called him the “Wizard of Oz of Iranian terror.”
His goals in attacking us in Benghazi were to shut down the US arms pipeline from that city to the anti-regime jihadi groups in Syria and ultimately to drive the United States out of Libya entirely, both of which he accomplished.
Howard, this is 2020, not 1979.
Is the US dependent on Saudi oil?
Seeing Brown, surely you can cite an energy publication that gives an account on how the world doesn't need Saudi Oil. You have the same magical thinking of the CAGW hysterics, just in the opposite direction.

The Very Forgetful Admiral Inga: "It’s less than impressive that Manic Drago thinks others are mind readers, yet he has no self awareness at all. He accuses everyone he thinks is liberal of saying and thinking things he pulls out of his ass."
First of all, congratulation on switching up what you do when you have no idea what to say: usually you claim others are manic followed by mindless cut and pastes.
Today you reversed that, so thats something.
Where you are getting confused is the difference between noting what someone is saying from claiming to know what someone is thinking.
I realize now this distinction eludes you.
I also realize you would prefer your many previous insane statements go unmentioned.
For instance, your continued belief in the completely debunked hoax dossier. Your continued belief Carter Page is a russian agent. Your continued belief Brett Kavanaugh raped hundreds of women. Your steadfast refusal to accept Soleimani murdered thousands.
You have strange psychotic beliefs. I can understand why you dont want them discussed.
but the world needs oil, at reasonable prices, notably Europe, despite it's penchant for unicorn dust, you can't put that in your tank
Wince: we live in the world today. Benghazi is done and dusted. You people crave anything that justify war with Iran Today.
caused food insecurity for millions (Saudis use starvation as a weapon of war)
So did Stalin.
Green policies will do that here.
“The United States still imports 7.9 million barrels of foreign crude per day and a sizable chunk comes from Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter. ... In fact, even as US oil production ramped up in September, so did purchases of Saudi oil.Oct 15, 2018”
Remember when the left/LLR-left told us we could not drill our way to energy independence?
But then that was exactly what we did.
Thoughts and prayers for our lefties and their LLR lap poodles.
“How long will US oil reserves last?
At our current consumption rate of about 20 million barrels a day, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve would last only 36 days if we were faced with a situation where the oil had to be released all at once (however, only 4.4 million barrels a day can be withdrawn, extending our supply to 165 days).”
Just something to think about.
Inga: "“The United States still imports 7.9 million barrels of foreign crude per day and a sizable chunk comes from Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter. ... In fact, even as US oil production ramped up in September, so did purchases of Saudi oil.Oct 15, 2018”

She really cant help herself.
Someone please explain to Drago why the modern Western world needs sweet crude
Howard: "Drago dreams of daze gone bye bye"
Sorry Howie. We are a net exporter of energy now.
I am sorry this is happening to you.
Howard, gaps are opportunities. Someone somewhere sees a need and fills it. I never said it would be done in a day.
There would be short-term hardship, but as I said, there are other things that will fill the gap.
Open up ANWR for starters.
We blamed Iraq for 911 when it was convenient and now we are blaming Iran for 911. Is there nothing 911 can't do?
Where's Rudy?
ARM: "We blamed Iraq for 911 when it was convenient and now we are blaming Iran for 911."
The lies become more and more pathetic the more the lefties lose.
"Can someone with more patience than I explain to Inga what the term "Net Exporter of Energy" means?"
Pass.
Seeing Red. Losing Saudi Oil will start a Great Depression.
Drago is in a manic daze.
America Is Not Yet A Net Crude Oil Exporter
America Is Not Yet A Net Crude Oil Exporter
Inga The Moron: "Drago is in a manic daze.
America Is Not Yet A Net Crude Oil Exporter"
Can someone with more patience than I explain to Admiral Inga the difference between "Net Crude Oil Exporter" and "Net Energy Exporter"?
Amazingly dense.
“But what is the situation now with respect to crude oil imports? A year ago, in response to the Bloomberg article, I reported that the U.S. was still a net crude oil importer to the tune of about 4 million BPD. A year later, that number has fallen to about 3 million BPD, and sometimes falls even lower.
For all of 2018, the U.S. was still a net importer of crude oil to the tune of 5.7 million BPD. That number had fallen by 1.5 million BPD over the previous two years. Final numbers for 2019 aren’t yet available, but the average for the year so far is 4.0 million BPD.
That’s a remarkable year-over-year decline, but the U.S. is still very much a net importer of crude oil. Even if the current trends continue (particularly the robust growth of shale oil production), it looks unlikely that crude oil imports could turn into exports before about the middle of the next decade.”
just one example, there were more contacts with Egyptian Islamic jihad Algerian islamists even hezbollah
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2003/apr/27/iraq.alqaida
the question was why didn't do anything about it,
While I always hope for the best, it wouldn’t surprise me if there was one and not for that reason.
Also explain the difference to ARM as well because whatever mental deficiency Inga has its clearly contagious and has spread to ARM.
Inga thinks she can simply pretend Net Crude Oil Exporter = Net Energy Exporter.
Just wait until Inga and ARM hear about LNG!
It is very simple Drago.
America. Is. Not. Yet. A. Net. Crude. Oil. Exporter.
According to JP media, Iran has put an $80M bounty on Trump's head.
5 years? That’s it?
Open up ANWR.
Howard wrote: Wince: we live in the world today. Benghazi is done and dusted. You people crave anything that justify war with Iran Today.
True enough, but we live in a world today where liars about past events like Benghazi (e.g., Susan Rice) are consulted about current events.
ARM: "It is very simple Drago.
America. Is. Not. Yet. A. Net. Crude. Oil. Exporter."
Its even simpler than that:
The. US. IS. A. NET. ENERGY. EXPORTER.
Trump should talk to Salman Rushdie for advice then
Drago thinks the US is already a net energy exporter, lol.
“Last week, EIA said the U.S. will start exporting more crude oil and petroleum products than it imports by the final quarter of 2020. After that it would remain a net oil exporter for years to come.
Towards the end of its 50-year forecast period, EIA expects the U.S. to once again start importing more petroleum products than it exports, as economic growth fuels demand for gasoline.”
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/01/24/us-becomes-a-net-energy-exporter-in-2020-energy-dept-says.html
With the right incentives, it could be less.
Of course is next decade the 30s?
People are still arguing if 2020 begins the next decade?
BTW, where is that little Iranian cypher hiding out now -- the Svengali who had Obama's sizeable ear?
Wasn't Horse Face Kerry seen milling around with Iranians again in Paris trying to convince the Iranians to wait a Trump presidency out? Oh dear, this puts a monkey wrench in things.
Also as Farmer was arguing months ago the euros are putting up a trading format to circumvent American sanctions and the Iranian didn't have to worry about sanctions. How is that all coming along? Will the Euros want to continue trading with a regime that vows to assassinate an American president? Double oh dear what a pickle!

And yet you deny it!
It doesnt get any more "Inga" than that.
Sure thing chiklite. The bottom line is that we're hanging fire with Iran right now no one knows which way it's going to go maybe Trump did the right thing maybe not bring up the past is just a way for you people to support and justify in your minds eye that going to war with Iran is a good thing even though the commander and chief just yesterday said that he acted to avert War not to start a war
We blamed Iraq for 911 when it was convenient and now we are blaming Iran for 911.
We did no such thing. Find me one quote from someone - anyone - in the Bush Administration who claimed Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.
You won't find it because it doesn't exist.
Howard: "The bottom line is that we're hanging fire with Iran right now..."
I will file that one right next to the nuclear war with NK Inga and you guys said we would have by now.
“Inga, its in the name of your very own link!!”
No kidding dumbass. You asserted that the US was a net energy exporter NOW. You were wrong. Now go lick your wounds.
hanging at Obama's home in kalorama, john Kerry 'a traitor for all seasons'
Drago, since you're an expert on global energy reserves maybe you can tell us in what year have they predicted peak fracking oil in the United States versus peak fracking oil in Saudi Arabia? Of course you can't because Saudi Arabia hasn't even started tapping into that resource which are the source rocks under the conventional field
I hope your optimism is Right Drago but based on your earlier postings today you sounded like you would be very supportive of going to war with Iran in response to the generals fortunate demise
The Very Forgetful Inga: "No kidding dumbass"
Welcome to 2020 where we drilled our way to energy independence and Trump found that economic magic wand your messiah obama lost!
Sorry for your loss!
Why does anyone respond to Inga?? Plus I thought she was banned for bad behavior.
This is why I’m still waiting for my Mr. Fusion reactor. They need to get a move on.
Howard said...Seeing Red. Losing Saudi Oil will start a Great Depression.
Losing Saudi oil would cause the price of oil futures to skyrocket -- it wouldn't really matter if the US is "energy independent" or not. Our own price would be bid through the roof.
On the other hand, we remain the Saudi Arabia of coal -- so long as it is still legal to mine and burn it. But the lefties are working their asses off to make it illegal. It's all tied together.
Inga and ARM need to spend more time reading up on fracking and why the lefties have long sided with Putin in attempting to shut this sector down.
Vice President Dick Cheney had told Meet the Press on December 9, 2001, that Iraq was harboring Abdul Rahman Yasin, a suspect in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and repeated the statement in another appearance on September 14, 2003, saying "We learned more and more that there was a relationship between Iraq and al-Qaida that stretched back through most of the decade of the '90s, that it involved training, for example, on BW and CW, that al-Qaida sent personnel to Baghdad to get trained on the systems that are involved. The Iraqis providing bomb-making expertise and advice to the al-Qaida organization. We know, for example, in connection with the original World Trade Center bombing in '93 that one of the bombers was Iraqi, returned to Iraq after the attack of '93. And we've learned subsequent to that, since we went into Baghdad and got into the intelligence files, that this individual probably also received financing from the Iraqi government as well as safe haven." and once again in an interview with National Public Radio in January, 2004, stating that there had been "overwhelming evidence" of a relationship between Saddam and al-Qaeda based on evidence including Iraq's purported harboring of Yasin.
In the same Meet the Press interviews, Cheney implied a connection between Iraq and Mohamed Atta; "The Czech interior minister said today that an Iraqi intelligence officer met with Mohammed Atta, one of the ringleaders of the September 11 terrorists attacks on the United States, just five months before the synchronized hijackings and mass killings were carried out." and "With respect to 9/11, of course, we've had the story that's been public out there. The Czechs alleged that Mohamed Atta, the lead attacker, met in Prague with a senior Iraqi intelligence official five months before the attack, but we've never been able to develop any more of that yet either in terms of confirming it or discrediting it."
It remains possible that we could hide some of the oil shock inflation in some of the deflation-laden debt for net stability -- right Howard?
ARM, which facts Cheney laid out are false.
We'll wait.
By the way, what some lefty journalist says was "implied" gets thrown out. We are on to your lefty games with that.
Direct, explicit quotes and facts only.
chickelit: "It remains possible that we could hide some of the oil shock inflation in some of the deflation-laden debt for net stability -- right Howard?"
Well played.
Cant wait to read Howards "answer".
@ARM: Why does your side (D) bellyache so when Trump talks about limiting immigration from bellicose Muslim nations?
So now you're talking about ramping up our crazy debt into the stratosphere. Is there nothing that Fiat money can do?
It depends on what party is in the White House.
Does anybody really dispute that?
1/5/20, 3:57 PM
Not at all. In 1996 Biden was arguing that if Iran attacked a US facility, any action we deemed appropriate would be justified.
Any action.

ARM, which facts Cheney laid out are false.
None of them are 'facts'.
That's right Chickelit, most people not from West Virginia are against shiting in our own nest by ramping up coal pollution. You are going off into the cagw hysterics magical thinking zone
ARM: "None of them are 'facts'."
LOL
Let's try it this way (the way today's lefties like "to roll"): What has been disproven?
Howard: "So now you're talking about ramping up our crazy debt into the stratosphere."
Howard was fast asleep from 2008 to 2016 and has missed every single democrat debate during this cycle.
I know we all wish Howard a speedy recovery and full lucidity before its too late.
the problem is you people are basically cucks who have never worked in basic industry like energy exploration and production you've never worked in highly polluting industry in technical positions and therefore you have no earthly idea about how the world really works. Do you water comes out of the tap, food comes from Kroger's, electricity comes out of the wall and gasoline comes out of a dispenser island.
Right Drago you're very correct I was silent during the Democrat debate about how to fix the total fuk up of the Bush administration in cratering the world economy bringing us to the brink of economic chaos
Remember ARM, most of your lefty pals still think the hoax dossier, which has been disavowed by its own authors(!), is valid!!
Inga still believes it is "mostly true" and that "nothing has been disproven".

Nobody is "for" going to large scale war with Iran. I think that the race is on for ever more strategic pinpoint strikes. On both sides. Of course, the Moolahs, having really small penises, will probably try the time honored tradition of closing the Straight of Hormuz, or blowing up more Saudi infrastructure.
right the hud and other agency push to protect the gse's like fannie and Freddie, which provided the supply from deutsche morgan city bank aig, all big contributors to Obama,
So Drago, does your wife know that you carry on with all sorts of strange straw men every night here at Althouse. I bet Titus is your alter ego
and biden and chris dodd,
Howard said...the problem is you people are basically cucks who have never worked in basic industry like energy exploration and production you've never worked in highly polluting industry in technical positions and therefore you have no earthly idea about how the world really works.
Speak for yourself, asswipe.
Howard: "the problem is you people are basically cucks who have never worked in basic industry like energy exploration and production you've never worked in highly polluting industry in technical positions and therefore you have no earthly idea about how the world really works."
LOL
I've worked in all of them. Energy E&P, Wholesale and retail energy, specialty chemicals, light and heavy manufacturing, and on and on and on.
You just happen to be an idiot so you lash out.
When Drago is feeling downtrodden he mentions that the pee pee tapes were fake and it cheers him right up. Whatever floats his boat on the yellow stream, eh?
Howard: "So Drago, does your wife know that you carry on with all sorts of strange straw men every night here at Althouse. I bet Titus is your alter ego"
Lots of revealing same-sex innuendo from you. Every day. Like you can't get it off your mind.
Boston is probably a fun town. You could probably explore that side of you to determine if that's really what you are all about.
We won't think any different of you, I assure you.
well Drago you come off as someone who has no idea where the rubber meets the road so I don't know in what office you were working in all those places.
Inga: "When Drago is feeling downtrodden he mentions that the pee pee tapes were fake and it cheers him right up."
Make note everyone. On this day, January 5, 2020, literally months and months after the hoax dossier was formally and officially debunked, Inga finally allows herself to indirectly allude to the fact that she gleefully used a hoax dossier and hoax rumors of a non-existent tape for years because she is astonishingly gullible.
Boy, Howard did not let go of that gin bottle !

This is pathetic toady stuff even for you. You need to let Cheney go, just as you will eventually need to let Trump go - not playing four dimensional chess.
Howard:"well Drago you come off as someone who has no idea where the rubber meets the road ...."
I can't help it if you are a fool.
But its interesting that you also mention rubber because, yes, I have some experience in that sector as well. Not much, but some.
Again, I'm sorry this happened to you.
Actually Drago Boston and Cambridge are all about the girls. The man are real weak sisters but it's like every beautiful intelligent woman from around the world has descended on the Charles River.
"Of course, the Moolahs, having really small penises, will probably try the time honored tradition of closing the Straight of Hormuz"
We could charge the rest of the world to open it back up for them.
ARM: "This is pathetic toady stuff even for you."
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Demanding someone "disprove" an assertion is literally what the entire last 3 years of the entire democrat platform and communications strategy has been at every step of the way!!
But today, it's "pathetic"!
Well, you are clearly a russian bot, aren't you? I mean, lets see you disprove it. If I could exonerate you on this charge I would, but I cannot.
Ringing any bells now?

Wince: we live in the world today. Benghazi is done and dusted. You people crave anything that justify war with Iran Today.
Pointing to a source indicating "Soleimani’s direct involvement in planning, financing and directing the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on US diplomatic and intelligence facilities in Benghazi, Libya, where four Americans were killed" did seem relevant to your assertion that...
Benghazi has nothing to do with Iran, shithead.
Today we live in a world without Soleimani, and so do the Iranians.
What's past is prolog. Soleimani would have cemented his dominant position to force Iran in the same murderous direction he had followed for the last few decades for the next few decades.
Despite the public protestations, with Soleimani gone, it's better than even odds his successors in Tehran might chart a preferred course.

They can’t let Trump go, it would mean admitting they made a monumental error in voting for him and continuing to support him. Their egos would not be able to handle it. There were Germans in bomb shelters being pummeled by allied bombers, even on the last days of the war who still sided with Hitler.

Howard and ARM are almost as bad. When I see a thread go over 200 comments, I know it is a wasteland. I'm only surprised that Ritmo is not here, too.
Okay drago what branch of engineering did you specialize in when you work in heavy industry.
Drago, Cheney was the one making the allegations. This fact may have slipped your attention.
Howard: "Actually Drago Boston and Cambridge are all about the girls."
You don't have to convince me on that score. I've had some great nights in Boston that I can barely remember.
Drago,
"Energy", "crude oil"..just words to be exchanged when conflation is required.
Not as surprising as blaming the genesis of all this on Bush not pursuing "green energy" heartily enough...seen here at Althouse recently.
Seattle's looking pretty good. I just love watching beast mode plow over defensive backs linebackers lineman he doesn't care who is
When doc Mike wants to run home to Mommy he always complains about the length of the comments pages
The Saudi oil question is beside the point. Even without importing a drop of Saudi oil, the US would still arguably have interest in protecting the global economy from the shockwaves a major oil supply disruption would cause. An oil price spike would have knock-on effects. If one wanted to make that sort of mercantilist argument, I don't necessarily buy it, but there is something to be said for it.
The Islamic Republic relies on the narrative of the American imperialist enemy to partially justify itself and its positions in the country. And of course the US happily complies. It's a symbiotic relationship. The mullahs say that the Shah was a puppet of US imperialist and that the country was being exploited for US interests. And while it is massively exaggerated and oversold by the mullahs, there is a degree of truth to it. Iran was basically a client state of the US. That is why we use phrases like "losing Iran." We owned it, and then we lost it.
And since 1979, the US has basically pursued an agenda of trying to bring the regime down. It has used overt and covert methods to this end for decades. It is this strategy that needs to be abandoned. It is the carcass of dead policies that Lord Salisbury warned us of. The chances of the Iranian government collapsing or being overthrown and replaced by a totally new system are infinitesimal. We should accept the legitimacy of the government in Tehran, reestablish formal diplomatic relations, begin trade relationships, and move towards normalization. The US will remain a rich, technologically sophisticated great power, and the Iranians will remain a middling regional power.
Change my mind.
ARM: "Drago, Cheney was the one making the allegations. This fact may have slipped your attention."
LOL
Thanks for making my point so effectively.
So, just to be clear, you have now come back full circle from the last 3 years and have returned to the person making the assertion needs to deliver the proof for that assertion standard?
So, its adios Mueller/Weissman/Lawfare?
It's too bad that its only now, just at this moment, that you "remembered" that is the standard.
All right yeah now we need to talk about how the Mueller investigation forced Trump's hand into playing wag the dog.
The Deep State works in mysterious ways
“All right yeah now we need to talk about how the Mueller investigation forced Trump's hand into playing wag the dog.”
That and numerous other things that are still brewing. Judges keep shooting down Trumps lawyers, it’s going to get even more interesting.
Howard: "All right yeah now we need to talk about how the Mueller investigation forced Trump's hand into playing wag the dog."
I guess with all the old lefty/LLR-lefty conspiracies theories kind of down the tubes now perhaps it is time to start with some new ones.
Inga: "That and numerous other things that are still brewing. Judges keep shooting down Trumps lawyers, it’s going to get even more interesting."
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
It's like the last 3 years never happened at all!
Again, we have to ask ourselves: is it really an advantage or a disadvantage for the democrats to have such a moronic base (exemplified by Inga)?
On the one hand, these gullible rubes will literally buy anything you throw at them no matter how ridiculous AND long after whatever nonsense has been thoroughly debunked, most of these idiots will still believe it!!
On the other hand, if the democrat base was less moronic and gullible the dems would have to try and gin up conspiracies and frameup jobs that were more sophisticated and didn't fall apart rapidly like all these other ones have.
All in all, I believe the dems are disadvantaged by having such a gullible and emotionally unstable base.
Howard said...All right yeah now we need to talk about how the Mueller investigation forced Trump's hand into playing wag the dog.
I think Trump has always enjoyed dogging the wags; it goes way back.
Howard: "Seattle's looking pretty good. I just love watching beast mode plow over defensive backs linebackers lineman he doesn't care who is"
Then you must have loved the performance of Derrick Henry yesterday. He is definitely comparable.
“Warren told CNN’s State of the Union it was “reasonable” to ask if the strike was meant to be a distraction, “particularly when the administration, immediately after having taken this decision, offers a bunch of contradictory explanations for what’s going on.
‘“There was a reason that he chose this moment, not a month ago, not a month from now, not a less aggressive, less dangerous response.”
Echoing the terms of the articles of impeachment, Warren accused him of using foreign policy or “whatever he can to advance the interests of Donald Trump”.
Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer told ABC’s This Week the evidence for an “imminent” Iranian attack provided by the administration after the Suleimani strike was “very unsatisfying”.
“We don’t know the reasons that it had to be done now,” he said. “They don’t seem very clear. The documents they sent us last night” – notification of the strike as required by the War Powers Act of 1973 – “is very unsatisfying as to that, even though I can’t talk about it because the whole thing is classified.”“

The truth has a way of getting out...eventually
J.Farmer do you actually know any iranian ex-pats? They have a much richer and complete picture of what passes for the Iranian regime than you do. One family I know has an over and under betting pool going on when the Ayatollah's lamb it to switzerland to spend all of their pilfered loot.
I like some of your ideas on how this should go but they seem like wishful thinking. Iran will have to stop acting like a pariah nation before it can be taken seriously.Pledging to assassinate Trump is an own goal. If I was standing in a pool of gasoline i wouldn't be starting a match fight, but hey, thats me.
Anyone here "siding" with the Iranian regime is tantamount to siding with the worst of anti-Semites. At least that's how I'm going to treat you going forward. I'm not around that much, so it means very little.
I hope that the Vikings have a shot in the Super Bowl.
Howard: "Okay drago what branch of engineering did you specialize in when you work in heavy industry."
Kind of strange question. I got the degrees first then applied them to many different industries, including financial services, global retail, etc. Further, my experience spans the entire organization from sales/mktg to back office operations to manufacturing operations to business operations, etc.
Mathematics, Astronautical/Aeronautical Engineering, MBA
Inga: "The truth has a way of getting out...eventually"
LOL
It sure did for Li'l Tomahawk Warren, didn't it?
And now on top of that, she's lied about her applications, her fathers occupation, where her children went to school!
And so much more!
And that's why the public "took an axe" to Little Lizzie Warren's poll numbers.
Cue sad trombone!
And remember, this is the idiot candidate that Inga said Trump was deathly afraid of!! Of course Inga said the same thing about that loser Beto and the even more ridiculous Avenetti!
How funny is that?
“Anyone here "siding" with the Iranian regime is tantamount to siding with the worst of anti-Semites. At least that's how I'm going to treat you going forward. I'm not around that much, so it means very little.”
I see no one siding with the Iranian Regime. Don’t be hysterical. It’s just like the Iraq war when anyone against it was accused of “Not supporting the troops”. Well that would be Trump, eh?
Okay Drago I stand corrected that's a very impressive resume.
F*** yes Drago Derrick Henry's my new favorite player absolutely he's like the Usain bolt of running backs
Isn't amazing just how coincidental the Iranian attack on the US embassy in Iraq - along with the intelligence gathered to put Soliemani at Baghdad International Airport - just happened to provide Trump an opportunity to draw attention away from the impeachment papers that have been sitting in the House of Representatives for two weeks?
I mean, it's just like bombing a fucking aspirin factory.
I didn't really watch any NFL games this year but I'm committed to watching at least half of the playoff games
@Gk1:
Iran will have to stop acting like a pariah nation before it can be taken seriously.
How is Iran demonstrably worse than any of the other major authoritarian powers in the region? The most disruptive and destructive events in the middle east for the last 30 years has been the war against Iraq and the rise of ISIS, and neither were a result of Iranian behavior.
Jim at:. Exactly because as we all know the array Nyan mullahs are really just puppets of Vladimir Ilyich Putin who of course is the puppeteer behind Trump. There for ipso facto Putin ordered everything. (Do I really believe this or is it just a troll?)
I see no one siding with the Iranian Regime.
Take a good, long look in the mirror. Then you'll see.
Farmer, so you don't know any iranian's? Check.
J Farmer: I think a case can be made that Iran actually suckered the United States into this mess in 1979.
Second guessing since 1960:
https://www.bizpacreview.com/2020/01/05/ny-times-uses-deep-state-leaks-of-soleimani-intel-briefs-to-question-trumps-call-on-strike-872079
40 years of asymmetrical warfare.
Oh enough with the "siding with Iran" crap. It is such a dumb argument. It's not even an argument. It's a smear designed to discredit. You heard it often in 2002. Opponents of the Iraq War were apologists for Saddam, people had affinity for dictators or mass murderers or some other such nonsense.
Narisco...the Deep state had to pick the target time and date as well right? Also they are the ones pushing for war with Iran aren't they? Once you go down the conspiracy rabbit hole it's hard to tell up from down
J:. Exactly those are the other key neocon deep State talking points in support of endless war in the middle East
