Talking poll numbers for impeaching Trump on MTP. 44%. Well below 66%.

Peggy Noonan with a new hairdo and maybe a face lift.

On Sunday Morning Futures with Maria, Ted Cruz raises an important question that I was going to ask Biden in Iowa yesterday. What did Obama and Biden know about the spying on the Trump campaign and when did they know it?

My recollection is that the President absolutely is told about every single counter intel op by the FBI.

I'm sick and tired of the same old media heads not showing a smidgeon of contrition for their part in trying to bring down Trump for no good reason. Fuck 'em all.

And seasoned greetings.

chickelit said...

I should add that the way out for the media is not to show fawning adoration for Trump as they imagine -- rather just stop taking part in orchestrated smears. Call out the orchestrated smears. Because it sure looks like you (the media) are being told what to cover.

Peggy Noonan on MTP again.

That show has the pulse of America.

I asked the same question days ago. (Weeks ago?) To me it is inconceivable that Comey did not tell Obama about this operation, in fact it is more conceivable that Obama initiated a request to find something, anything, that could be used against Trump. Obama is, after all, a Chicago Democrat and they boast about doing that sort of thing.

rhhardin said...

Look at the impeachment as a #MeToo movement against Trump.

Big Mike said...

@chicklit, without the orchestrated smears the press would have hardly anything to report besides Melania rocking a sharp-looking outfit, Trump successes on the economy, and Trump successes with foreign policy.

BTW, thanks for the etymology of your handle the other night. I confess that that I thought it meant you enjoyed romance novels (aka "bodice rippers") and Georgette Heyer novels ("chick lit[erature]").

I’m not so sure about inconceivable. I never got the impression that Obama was respected by the people in his administration or by the DNC operators. More like a useful hand puppet. Go golf, Barack. We got this.
Comey has consistently demonstrated this sort of presumptuous arrogance. And the patronizing stink of the classic Democrat racist is all over him. I’d be surprised to find that he ever thought of Obama as his boss. More like institutional co-equals. Except the other guy is Black, of course.

Narr said...

Speaking of the Chicago way: unless I recall badly, Obama's oppo research was always good.
Of f-ing course he was trying to find something--anything--on Trump and was willing to go with
any steaming pile at hand.

Shouldn't be any mystery about "chickelit" judging from his blogger profile. I wish more people would use them-- I find them useful, usually.

Bigger question: Why didn’t Obama and Biden stop the spying on the Trump campaign?

because that's how they roll, and the press peppers over any impropriety,

@Cracker Emcee, are you trying to tell me that Barack Obama was a token Negro in his own administration?

If anyone ever told Biden anything, they would risk him blurting it out at the first opportunity and/or in the most embarrassing way possible.
So, no.

Hagar said...

@Cracker Emcee, are you trying to tell me that Barack Obama was a token Negro in his own administration?

Yes, and no. It is a puzzle who was gaming who throughout Obama's career.

I’ve asked this (unanswered) question for years, and I’m pleased that Barr mentioned it in his interview on Fox: why wasn’t the Trump campaign given a defensive briefing? That’s inexcusable, an indication of bias, and has never been explained or discussed.

But it is easily explained: the hoax had nothing to do with Russia as such, it always about stopping Trump, BAMN.

rhhardin said...Look at the impeachment as a #MeToo movement against Trump.

That can't be all. I agree that the schoolmarm media audiences (soap opera women) demand a diet of anti-Trump news. But ratings are falling for the worst anti-Trump media outlets with no apparent plans to change course. This tells me that someone or some organization is willing to lose lots of money to bring Trump down. Let's put a face on those malignant malefactors.

Beasts of England said...

That is the correct answer, Sebastian - I’m merely awaiting the rhetorical jujitsu needed to justify their inaction. And I’m not sure it’s possible. :)

The impeachment is part of the pussy hat march. Women being serious in public always comes to "I have a vagina." Women can't, or won't because it's boring, do system analysis at any depth and have no way to be serious in public besides that. Having a vagina is all that feels deep to them. And that's a feeling. Women empathize.

Pelosi being serious in public, the heavy heart crap, is pure comedy.

Guys meanwhile are doing system analysis. You can't run a government this way, they think. It's unstable. Congress throws out any president that displeases them. Guys are serious in public with accounts of how systems work.

Althouse gets the first level of that. Trump's voted in and you don't get to cancel the vote for no reason. The problem is that feelings displace no reason for most women. And they vote.

So that's what impeachment was about. 19th amendment edition.

Mark said...

Poke him the right way, Biden is sure to blurt out, "Damn right, man, we called a Code Red to get the goods on Trump having a spare key to the ward room and stealing the strawberries," as he challenges everyone to a push-up contest.

And if they are using I-75 they might not be so happy; they are into gridlock around Ocala. It's become terrible getting through there anymore.

“Blogger Big Mike said...

Certainly not. I’m saying what Obama really wanted out of his presidency-fame, luxury, adoration, affirmation-was quite different from what the people actually wielding and abusing power wanted. Both of them got what they wanted, though it may be that only Obama gets to keep it.
Nevertheless, I don’t doubt that White folks like HRC, Biden, and Comey had a measure of racially-tinged contempt and envy for Obama, as a president if not as a person. I also don’t doubt that he was sensitive to it, which may explain his lukewarm support for Hillary’s candidacy and his relatively low profile since 2016.

They're going to claim they thought Trump really was in the thrall of Putin.

Not many other national chains have country ham on the menu.

Unfortunately, here they turn it into shoe leather. A few months ago, I bought some of the sealed raw slices, baked them in water, and found them as tender as baking a full ham, though a different texture. What they sell here isn't nearly as salty as a Virginia ham like Smithfield, what we used to cook for the holidays.

I just wanted to tell you how much I love your sunrise pictures. In the warmer months and when the time changes, I love to sit on my front porch at the same time every morning, while I write morning pages and have my coffee. I watch how the light changes every morning as the sunrise time changes. The clouds and the light are never exactly the same. I miss it terribly right now because my day has to start well before sunrise, but I feel like I'm getting my fix with your photos. Thank you!

At the FISC contempt hearing for James Comey.

Judge: Why did you submit a FISA application for Carter Page?

Comey: I was ordered to do so by President Obama.

Judge: Did President Obama know that the Steele Dossier was false and paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC?

Comey: Yes he did. I told him. He already knew that anyway.

Judge: After the first wire tap on Page didn't result in any useful information, what happened next?

Comey: I reported that fact to President Obama. Agent Strzok's text to FBI lawyer Lisa Paige was correct that we, at the FBI, were told to keep the WH fully informed.

Judge: What happened next?

Comey: President Obama told me to seek a renewal of the FISA warrant so I signed another false application. I was just following orders from my boss, Barack H. Obama, President of the United States.

Judge: Was Vice President Biden at any of these meetings?

Comey: No. Both the WH and FBI considered Biden to be a worthless clown. We all knew about his corrupt deals with the Bank of China and Burisma for the benefit of his cokehead, idiot son Hunter.

End of transcript.

When Durham starts indicting people, they will rat out their superiors. Comey and McCabe don't want to spend any more time in federal prison than they have to.

So who pussed out and gave Disney their money? I just read that Disney not only bought the rights from Lucas, they bought his original ideas for the final trilogy -- all the while knowing that they were not going to use his ideas.

Why would they do that? Why not only destroy the franchise, but screw everyone of knowing what the creator's original vision for it was?

One youtuber was speculating that it was so they could give him a higher price for Lucasfilms. His pride wouldn't let him sell unless he got a comparable deal to what Marvel got, but Marvel had recent releases, and new ones in production while Lucasfilm had nada. Buying the sequel outlines was the only way to get the price up to something he would accept and that could pass muster with the financial community.
