When I was teaching high school math, one of my students was in band and had a wide range of musical interests. Her father managed a Kinko's near where I lived. I gave her father a tape of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys to pass on to his daughter. He told me that one of Al Striklin's sons was in his high school class in Cleburne.

I used to drink beers at a local bar on Friday nights with a friend, usually joined by one of his friends, an elderly gent who for decades played saxaphone in a dance band. One time I told him how I liked the music of Bob Wills and the Texas Playbos. The old saxaphone player replied that when his dance band played in the Dallas area, the guy who filled in at piano in the Dallas area used to play for Bob Wills.
