A fantastic montage of the wildest moments of 2019.

What that showed was an increasing comfort level with Trump.

Funny not scary.

Wow, that was fantastic!

About that last line per Hillary; I had all along presumed it to be true, as widely reported, that President George W. Bush had said, "That was some weird shit," immediately after Trump's inaugural address. But I had never seen it publicly confirmed.

The original storm cone appears to touch Alabama even without the Sharpie extrapolation. If the original extrapolation extended a few more hours it’d cover all of Southern Alabama.

That’s the best they can do I guess. None of the other predicted catastrophes came true...

Well, WaPo does seem to be coming around a little bit. At least they realize that they need to throw in a few seconds of Democrat idiocy to "legitimize" five minutes of gratuitous Trump/Repub derision.

Mary Beth (the commenter) said...

Trump is an entertainer. He also happens to be pretty good at the business of being president, regardless of whether he looks serious about it or not.

Let's face it, Trump is having a lot of fun doing this President stuff.

The Presidency is a role, for which many think Trump is miscast. No matter how effective he may be, he's no Henry Fonda.

Hey Washington Post. Happy Fucking 2020 to you.

Trump not convicted in the Senate.
GOP controls Congress.
Trump wins re-election.
Democracy rises up and repudiates the Fake News.

Dave Begley said...

GWB's comment about Trump lowered my opinion of him. The old GOP is dead. Bill Kristol and George Will are out of work. Jeb spent millions and got crushed. If Jeb would have been the nominee, Hillary would be president today.

The Democrats unwittingly chose the form of their destruction and his hair is orange. Washington will never be the same.

My reaction too. The WaPo thinks it is smearing Trump only because it doesn't understand Trump.

etbass said...

The only worrisome thing is who will replace Trump when he is gone. Will there be someone who has learned the lessons Trump taught us all, who is able to carry the torch? Or will we lapse back into BAU politics with Demos holding sway no matter which party is in power?

Not sure that's what WaPo wanted to convey, but that's how it shook out.

My favorite moment so far is that church shooter in Texas being dropped, fatally, with a bullet to the head. A real-life church-going Jack Reacher!

Zogby poll -- Trump at 50%.

This means he is actually at about 53-54% approval. As for reelection prospects, this means, well, I won't spell it out...

bagoh20 said...

I missed most of those moments when they happened, but they make me appreciate that Trump is much funnier than I thought. He nailed it on a bunch of issues, often when everybody else saw it differently at the time.

bagoh20 said...

We are going to miss Trump when he's gone. What a character!

traditionalguy said...

Trump is the Bob Hope for this generation. He loves the Troops and he communicates with perfect timing. And he has JFK's sense of honor and duty. No wonder the outclassed Hollywood guys hate him.

Bay Area Guy said...

I think one of the main political disconnects of the Left and the #NeverTrumpers is that they focus on Trump's tone/mannerisms/speeches, but not on his Article 2 exercise of Constitutional authority.

If one focuses on the latter -- his appointment of federal judges, his efforts to curtail illegal immigration, his tax cuts, his de-regulation, even his efforts to combat China's predatory trade policy and practices of the past few decades, it's hard not to be impressed with his record. And, if you simply look at economic picture -- the high stock market, the low unemployment rate, the high growth rate -- well, the picture becomes really good. And, if you add the fact, that he has not sent US troops off to another Middle East war, well, that's great too.

The media goofballs (like the WaPo) have too much emotion invested in their anti-Trump agenda just to fairly and properly call the "balls and strikes" of the political scene. Sad!

So, the bogus impeachment is going nowhere, the Dems are headed to a brokered, fragmented convention in July 2020, and at that time, Trump will have $800 MIllion to hammer whoever the hapless Dem nominee will be.

Life is good.

If the guy was ineffective or worse at the job of President, I'd probably hate him, especially for his humor, and I didn't like him before he was President, but if you do a great job, and you are also irreverent to the crooked system and not shy about calling the toadies of it out, then I can't help but love you. In other words: how Trump found me.

Respectfully; THESE ARE the things that make Life Long Leftists like Our Poor Chuck HATE our President so much. If he was a loud mouthed bozo; they would be able to cope
BUT! he's Getting things done. Things that people like our Poor Chuck have spent their lives working against (while, pretending to support). President Trump is DOING the things republicans SAY they want....
And, if you're a republican that is a Life Long Leftist... That SUX!

Was that supposed to make Trump look bad? Serious question. Granted, it’s the WaPo, but that made Trump look very likeable.

If it was meant to smear him, they could have chosen different clips and portrayed him very differently.

We long ago stopped demanding honesty and effectiveness from our leaders. Then we got boring lies and bland ineffectiveness. Love him or hate him, he is entertaining. And that beats the stuff being sold by the other folks.

Oh wait, that was LLR-lefty Chuck.

It was right about the time LLR-lefty Chuck told us Trump would never, EVER, complete any trade deals and that manufacturing jobs would never come back and middle and lower class workers would never realize wage increases....also that inflation would spiral out of control...also that we would be in a recession by now....

Wow.

Trump's been having a blast and so have we and LLR-lefty Chuck has simply been......angry, miserable and wrong. Bigly.

Huh.

That's a pretty good couple of years, eh?

Drago said...

Guild: "Trump's "I've never loved anybody as much as I love you!" imitation is great. Althouse pointed this out a while back but I didn't notice until a few rallies later. True genius."

Indeed. However, the now proven liar and perjurer Lisa Page as well as LLR-lefty Chuck keep assuring us Trump was wrong about the FBI lovers....buy you know, I don't think Trump is wrong about these morons who somehow thrived in obama's admin.

I especially like the part where George W Bush is totally totally cool with the dems/deep state going Full Stasi and using government power against domestic political opponents. That would have affected my votes for him in the 00's had I known that.

Drago said...

Donald J Trump has given us the most conservative governance we've seen in 110 years AND he is easily the most entertaining President we have ever had AND he has been crushing LLR-lefty Chuck's beloved dems without even breaking a sweat!

That's some combination.

" if you do a great job, and you are also irreverent to the crooked system and not shy about calling the toadies of it out"

Right. I'd follow Trump for what he does but I get to laugh along the way. Latest joke to me is listening to most of media saying "How could we have known the Russia collusion story was fake?" When half the country knew, when at rallies all over the country Trump had only to mention "fake news" and the whole crowd booed the media. Why? The crowd knew the dossier was fake. But the media - "How could we have known? How?" How did Clarice Feldman, Kimberley Strassel, Sundance know? They were investigative reporters whose conclusions were passed around among citizens without media help; and the media were and are talking bobble-heads, good for nothing but supplying Trump with an endless series of jokes. And, best of all, they still don't get it. They keep going, but it isn't Inspector Javert, it's Inspector Clouseau.

He is certainly the most animated and spontaneous President we have ever had. He's fun to watch. The press conferences are the best thing on television. He should schedule a press conference during the Superbowl just to fuck with them.....The broadcast news media helped to elect him last time. They gave him lots of coverage. He's good for ratings. Maybe, for all their over hatred, they're rooting for him this time too. Joe Biden will not be ratings gold for the news networks.

Not bad. I would add my favorite moments: Cory Booker trying to sound masculine, Nancy Pelosi stumbling to make a coherent point, Robert Muller's incomprehension of his report, Lindsey Graham pointing his finger and shouting at Dem's during the Brett Kavanaugh hearing, any explanation from Ms Clinton why she lost. A few Joe Biden and AOC quotes to add a subtle bouquet artiness to the madness.

There had to be earlier intelligence about this guy, or something in the neighborhood. It is alleged that Mr. Kinnunen was wearing a wig, and false beard. Judging by his mug shot, I believe this allegation correct.

Dispatched with a head shot? I'm not sure anybody teaches that, unless they anticipated body armor.

Look at how many firearms came to the sound of battle. How many rough-men-stand-ready at your church? This was expected.
