"Scientists have long theorized about a hypothetical 'most excruciating dinner party possible,' and now a potential breakthrough has been made: In October..."

"Mark Zuckerberg, Peter Thiel, and Donald Trump had dinner in Washington, D.C. NBC News confirmed the existence of the dinner, which neither Facebook nor the White House had announced," Max Read writes in "How Should You Feel About Mark Zuckerberg’s Dinner Date With Peter Thiel and Donald Trump?" (NY Magazine).
Not only is it normal for the CEO and a powerful board member of a major U.S. company to have dinner with the president, it’s normal for Zuckerberg to have dinner with right-wing pundits and conservative figures...

“It is unclear why the meeting was not made public or what Trump, Zuckerberg, and Thiel discussed,” NBC reports... So how should we feel? At best, I suppose, we should feel thankful that none of us had to be physically present as the trio chewed on well-done steak, Trump interjecting every so often to share his thoughts on Andrea Mitchell.
Hmm. I didn't expect the last 2 words to turn out to be "Andrea Mitchell." That surprised me. Did Trump tweet something about Andrea Mitchell just recently?

I wonder why the teaser "How Should You Feel About...?" worked on me. I'm not looking to be told how to feel. I guess I thought the article would be more manipulative and that would give me something to vocally resist. It didn't, and this post is what it is... a jumping off point for me to go look and see what Trump has tweeted recently!

I couldn't find anything about Andrea Mitchell in in Trump's Twitter feed. She was one of the debate moderators last night, but I don't think Trump said anything about the debate. So let me leave you with this tweet, which is tangentially related to Zuckerberg and Thiel:

How many backhanded slaps at Trump could be stuffed into those paragraphs.

Our media is pathetic

And we notice

The paranoid style. Even the barest hint of accommodation between Trump and the tech lords would naturally cause a twinge of panic in the Left.

That group doesn't even deserve a mention in most excruciating dinner party possible. Certainly Althousians can find better...

_____&&&&______
Is this even comprehensible claim about scientist?

We'll need a transcript of that conversation, sir. It appears that you are seeking a quid pro quo.

It’s a sin for Trump to meet with billionaire businessmen, but it’s OK for Clinton to fly on Epstein’s plane to Epstein’s island. Gotcha.

Well-done steak? Hmmm. Probably a white wine too.
No good could possibly have come out of this lowbrow dinner!

It was in the comments on this very blog where I learned that Trump liked his steaks ruined, ah... well done. But I'n certain his guests can have them properly prepared. If I'm cooking I will ruin, uh... make a steak well done by request.

Poultry, pork fish, all guests get the same.

The more interesting guest was Peter Thiel, who is the real deal. There are many Silicon Valley millionaires who want us to believe they were geniuses, but many rode on the coattails of people like Thiel. (Others just happened to be in the right place at the right time; there are many who've failed at every other venture they've tried, but still get accolades.)

the Neat Thing IS:
Every single solitary person, in the WORLD, that rants on and on (and On and ON) about
how you will "ruin" a steak by having it well done; RAVES about how great BBQ is

I think each of them swore allegiance to the other. Thiel officiated as they exchanged blood.

Zuck is a closet Republican as I stated on this very blog in the past.

Then you've never had Santa Maria bbq, gilbar

This brings to mind Dinner for Schmucks (2010) with Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Stephanie Szostak, and Zach Galifianakis.

I'm a fan of sparkling rose with steak or prime rib. Still rose works well too. It's a surprisingly good match.

... and then, after dinner they all had ice cream. Everyone got a nice scoop of ice cream, except for Trump who received two scoops! Outrageous!

MSM is seeing their 'death knell' thrashing at every direction, because their market positions are being eroded daily. The Internet is cooking their goose and information is no longer the exclusive province of some self-appointed and self-absorbed 'Elites'. Sorry to see, but painful for them and us as consumers. Why? Because to get attention the MSM will only push headlines which generate in Internet parlance 'clicks'. Consumers like us will no longer spend time researching the validity of the MSM's stories - waste of time. Consequently, the main MSM players are all fighting over a diminishing pie.

I guess I like mine medium well at least, I guess that makes me a barbarian,

So contrived! Let's postulate steak, so that we can, 1. Ridicule Trump's penchant for well-done and 2. Assume that Trump insists all his guests "enjoy" well-done too.

Brava press firemen! You have really outdone yourself with your through treatment of this dinner.

it's new York magazine the magazine that covered for Epstein and Weinstein, at strategic points, I would say thiel is smarter than Zuckerberg, although the latter is craftier, seeing how he defrauded the vinklevossi and even eduard savarin,

That meeting was not congenial.

Zuckerberg and Thiel are on different sides.

Thiel is not liked in Silicon Valley elite circles. He supports freedom from government.

Zuckerberg is a China sycophant. He will sell out anything to get Chinese favor.

This meeting was more than just Trump meeting a couple billionaires.

"How you should feel about" anything published by New York magazine is a signal to feel opposite to what the magazine states, or to feel that the subject is unimportant if the magazine states otherwise. The opinions of the writers for that magazine do not merely fail to raise my interest, they cause me revulsion.

When did the stupid idea arise that only deplorables ate their steak anything other than rare? It is a nonsensical status marker for those with low status. I personally prefer steak tartare prepared at the table.

Our media is very interested in telling us how we should feel about things.

Trump, however, tells you how he feels (Sad!) and lets you feel however you choose.

This sums up so much about America today.

Butchered at the table is far better.

Much more assurance the meat has never been frozen.

If you can get them to walk the cow to your table and kill it right in front of you that is the best!

But they only do that in the finest restaurants in Japan.

I think the word for it is kobekillmycowanowa.

At least that's how it sounds to my American ears.

Who is Andrea Mitchell? Seriously, I've heard the name, but can't be bothered to look it up.

Somebody Trump thought those two had heard of, I guess.

More trivia from the MSM to bridge over the yawning chasm of nothing that the Left has to offer between now and Trump's reelection (or sudden tragic illness).

Good point, Narayanan @12:28 PM. And how could one ethically run such an experiment on human subjects, even if one of them was Trump?
