I'm trying to figure out what the 1,000 words would be. The Founders are toasting Nancy Pelosi... but...why?

It's unlikely Amy will be the Democratic nominee, but if she is, this post will be linked in my "How Amy lost me" retrospective. She's talking to me in a mindless cliché ("A picture is worth 1,000 words"), and she's sharing a cartoon that is not devoid of words and that has to label the caricatures "Founding Fathers" because the artist apparently thinks the picture is NOT even adequate to convey who the people being caricatured are, and she thinks a completely partisan vote straining to legitimatize the behind-closed-doors hearings is a cause for giddy, alcohol-soaked celebration.

I remember when Amy Klobuchar was sternly disapproving of beery revelry...

"I think that you’ve probably had beer," said Judge Kavanaugh...

Imagine George Washington or Tom Jefferson toasting Nancy Pelosi for impeaching a President because he was talking to a foreign leader. LOL.

Observe good faith and justice toward all nations. Cultivate peace and harmony with all. Religion and morality enjoin this conduct. And can it be that good policy does not equally enjoin it? It will be worthy of a free, enlightened, and at no distant period a great nation to give to mankind the magnanimous and too novel example of a people always guided by an exalted justice and benevolence. Who can doubt that in the course of time and things the fruits of such a plan would richly repay any temporary advantages which might be lost by a steady adherence to it? ?

AND PUTIN SMILED.

Gee, Vicki. You've already been through contentious hearings, supplied more documents than all previous nominees combined, and suddenly the Dems pop up with some lunatic who claims she got screwed 30-plus years ago. Oh, and good old Amy knew at least three weeks ago about these claims but decided to be in on the plan to coldcock the nominee.

Might you be a bit cynical and weary? Might you, knowing good old Amy is the most vicious boss on Capitol Hill, get a bit testy when the hypocrite decides to look down her nose?

Further tracking the shell company we found that it is owned by another shell company, which in turn is owned by a company which owns 5 luxury car dealerships, a big four professional American Sports Franchise, a VERY liberal movie studio, all of which have been noted as being unprofitable, and this single Navy Contractor.

The family that owns this company has a current Senator and a Current Presidential Candidate in it.

The USA is unique, exceptional if you will, for many things, but one stands out in my estimation. It is the only country in the history of the world which, in crafting the structure of its government, set the principle of limitation as the overriding concern. I would have stayed with the 1777 Articles of Confederation which really limited the created fedgov. The 1787 iteration would be adequate if the words as written were obeyed in the spirit of limitation; cf. the 10th Amendment.

Limiting fedgov, or any government, is the last thing in the world that Democrats want.

So the cartoon "To Nancy" is utterly baffling to me.

No, it's not like Rashomon, which offered differing points of view, all grounded in the backgrounds and prejudices of the characters. Those viewpoints were never reconciled with "what really happened", only with one of the characters seemingly attempting to redeem his role in whatever went on.

In Kavanaugh's case, we KNOW that Vesey Ford lied. We KNOW that not a scintilla of evidence for her claims was ever produced or substantiated. We KNOW that the other claims of rape trains were lies offered by people equally as mentally unbalanced as Vesey Ford.

Yet Vicky still hates Kavanaugh. FOR WHAT?

I just finished reading Justice on Trial, which is about the Kavanaugh confirmation.

It proves, as if further proof is necessary, that progressives are vile people, for whom a baseless character assassination campaign is just another broken egg on the way to their omelette.

No matter how much damage it does, not just to him and his family, but to our entire civic culture. If D-senators had even an inkling of moral sense, they would have all voted for Kavanaugh. The outcome wouldn't have changed, and they would have made the point that such a morally cretinous horror show can't be allowed to stand.

Kevin said...

I lost what ever respect I had for him after that exchange

You seem to think that was a perfectly innocent question.

It wasn't. It was a carefully-laid trap. It was even discussed by some in the media beforehand.

If he says he ever blacked out drinking, it "explains" why she said he accosted her even while no one can back up her story.

Kavanaugh: "Yes, I blacked out once, but it wasn't that day. It wasn't at that party. And I wasn't with those people."

Klobuchar: "How do you know, if you can't remember what happened?"

He was right to see the trap and call bullshit on the question.

Kevin said...

The Dems had her letter, they had ample time to question him beforehand, and they waited until he was on TV to drop the unsubstantiated claims.

That was the day it was clear these people would stop at nothing to get what they wanted.

Truth wasn't going to factor into it.

Let’s ask the founding fathers!

A well-constituted court for the trial of impeachments is an object not more to be desired than difficult to be obtained in a government wholly elective. The subjects of its jurisdiction are those offenses which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust. They are of a nature which may with peculiar propriety be denominated POLITICAL, as they relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself. The prosecution of them, for this reason, will seldom fail to agitate the passions of the whole community, and to divide it into parties more or less friendly or inimical to the accused. In many cases it will connect itself with the pre-existing factions, and will enlist all their animosities, partialities, influence, and interest on one side or on the other; and in such cases there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.

"An argument against such a dire interpretation is that the activists’ anything-goes politics is precisely what is at stake in the struggle between the party’s left and “moderates” such as Joe Biden and Amy Klobuchar. I’m not sure I believe that now, and the reason is Minnesota’s Sen. Klobuchar.

After the Times piece appeared Saturday and her fellow candidates outputted their serial impeachment demands, Ms. Klobuchar somehow felt compelled to say the Kavanaugh confirmation “process was a sham.” This from a candidate who has tried, like Mr. Biden, to present herself as the adult in the room. That Ms. Klobuchar caved says a lot about the requirements of party membership now."

So Amy is bending her moderate positions to fit into the group. So sad.

This witness tampering is striking but has gone uncommented on by many lefties. I wonder why?

P.S. If I had to guess I’d say DJT. And, whatever she did, I’m sure that the faults of nasty libs motivated her mind

LOLOLOL

Yes, your "feelings", devoid of substance, facts, evidence. At least none that you can detail, because there is not detail.

Just more lefty lunatic caterwauling.

The little lefty dogs bark, but the caravan moves on......

I don't see Klobuchar drinking a beer? Wine, yes! Anyway, AA, that was not her question, that was a question and script provided by the Democratic Tribe to everyone of their "Spanish Inquisitors". That we are discussing this as real life versus pure fiction from a Hollywood movie is amazing.

But,I don't hate him.

No. You just want to hit him in the face. I don't know how we misread your intentions. My apologies.

So doing a quick headcount of the 4 supposed "witnesses" to this incident NO ONE would confirm it except Ditzy Ford. Yet the left gets to pretend it was a credible charge only because they want it to be. That any democrat running for office believed Ford is disqualifying enough.

Yup.

And on the Impeachment/Ukraine matter, then left forgets all about Bill Clinton's 1998 treaty with Ukraine on cooperating on investigations.

Drago,

The "wise latina" and Kagan aren't mental giants. Thurgood Marshall, Sandra Day O'Connor, Stevens, Souter, and william O dougas, Whizzer White, brennan were all medicare minds.

"But he's wasn't smart enough", is just another lefty lies. The only reason the Liberal/Left opposed Kavanaugh is because he was somewhat conservative and Trump nominated him. To believe otherwise, is to be a boob.

More like Beer Goggles.
But hey, those guys aren't around to comment on Pelosi's actions...or the cast of characters involved in spygate.

Klobuchar seemed to stumble in response to Kavanaugh's.
That he got testy dealing with that pathetic inquisition shouldn't have surprised her.
He boofed in her general direction.

Who knows whether he will be able to match wits with towering intellects like Wise Latina.

Actually i shouldn't have said that i feel. i actually have proof, from people who have worked for him in the past.
Drago, do you know the facts? You are just spouting the right wing platitudes your "friends" have instructed you to say, not an original thought in your head.

As usual, your connection with the truth is tenuous at best, just like your boss, the Cheeto.

Arf,arf, righties. As usual, you are barking up the wrong tree.
