I did a double take at this freeze frame of Adam Schiff — that arm!

He's slowly transforming from Senator to Sasquatch of the Capital with each day of lying. At the end he'll suddenly run from the room, the trail will show shoes broken open, then very large, bare, flat feet. But visitors to the Capital will report large eyes staring out from darkened corners or a soft whisper will stir the folds of brocaded curtains. But no one hears the same thing twice.

MayBee said...

Oh good. Nunes bringing up what you all noticed here - Schiff supposedly won't know if Republicans "out" the whistleblower, because supposedly none of them know who it is.

narciso said...

Heh nunes is introducing facts to the kangaroo court most irregular.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

But that freeze frame looks like Schiff is giving a bent-over naked orange person a 'reach-around'.

A "common courtesy".

Maybe its obvious to everyone, but I didn't see it spelled out in the comments, so I thought I'd add it. Schiff's hand is on the chair back. There is someone kneeling behind the chair and we see his forehead and hair.

Every talking point against Trump can be summed up with "How Dare He!"

Trump suggests finding out how the Ukrainians were involved in the 2016 election? How Dare He!

Trump fires a ambassador (for any reason)? How Dare He!

Someone suggests now that shes been fired she gets back to the US on the next plane? How Dare He!

Trump is not normal! How Dare He!

I know I keep repeating this, but her replacement was their star witness two days ago. So while I feel sorry for anyone who loses their job, this trial seems to be on how it was so terrible to fire this lone fighter of corruption.

The nails of the Democratics' lawyer (Daniel Goldman?) are awful. I was listening and he was doing a fine job with an awful case. He is getting the answers Yovanovitch was coached to give.

But when I looked up I saw his nails and wondered at the pressure he is feeling. Why would his nails be that bad unless he is chewing those nails from stress? And why would he wave his hand toward a camera with those nails? Get him a manicure and a glove!!

Caught a little of Yovanovitch,s appearance. She's an ambassador? To difficult/troubled parts of the globe? It seems like she'd break down if they got her salad order wrong.

It never ceases to amaze me when these senior govt folks appear. They get paid $175,000+ a year plus rich benefits, plus other things like annual retention bonuses ($50k) at that level. They all sport resumes that talk about their degrees and where they served, but make no mention about actual achievements. Most all seemm like they'd struggles to be a junior manager at an insurance company making $75k

MayBee said...

She seems like a perfectly nice lady, and it's the same playbook as Christine Blasey Ford. The White House has released a transcript of the April 21 call between President Trump and then-Ukrainian President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky.

“When you're settled in and ready, I’d like to invite you to the White House. We’ll have a lot of things to talk about, but we’re with you all the way,” Trump said during the call

Can't wait to hear Schiff read those words with all the implied words included.

If you can't find the quid pro quo in there thank a teacher for knowing the actual meaning of words.

Yes, the truth does seem alien to him.

Funny how little play Zelensky's comment on our "intimidated" "public servant" gets:

"It was great that you were the first one who told me that she was a bad ambassador because I agree with you 100%. Her attitude towards me was far from the best as she admired the previous president and she was on his side. She would not accept me as a new president well enough."

For crying out loud..
She might consider installing a second front door.

I kind of figured the same thing. But they didn't. At least not that I saw.

Instead they got Congressman Denny Heck (D-WA) to sum up an eloquent speech about just how terrible the Orange Man was to bully her. Even while testifying!!! OM is so bad, that he even made derogatory remarks about John McCain!!!! Why, Denny Heck's brother died in Vietnam so he is particularly offended by that.

He was not just upset he was "mad" (I think he meant as in angry but it came across as in crazy)

I could not see if there were actual tears but towards the end of his rant he got so worked up that it sounded like he was crying.

So no, Donald. It's the old switcheroo. Don't have the woman cry, that is too stereotyped. Have a CongressMAN cry. Yeah, that's the ticket.

JH,

Democrats in the Kavanaugh hearings and this impeachment inquiry utilize techniques commonly used in college "courts". The lunacy is taught by their Marxist professors in some of the "best" schools.. These people are not crazy. They are fanatical totalitarians.

Be afraid. Be very afraid. If they win more power, we are in for a world of hurt.

I was being a bit facetious. I don't think he is clinically crazy.

I take your point though. My wife has a cousin about our age. Great guy, never really close but we would have dinner on occasion. He was a lawyer and I used him once or twice for some minor stuff. He was also a LtCol (maybe Colonel)in the Army reserve.

Then in the 90's he got himself elected to the state legislature as a representative. If I didn't know him, I would have said he was batshit crazy. He would get in the news from time to time with some cockamamie idea.

I don't think politics is kind to about 80% of the people who get into it. I think it changes them and not for the better.

Re my use of the word "cousin" above, you have to understand that the word is different here.

On my side, I know all my 1st cousins and some of their kids but that is maybe 10 people.

On my wife's side, she seems to know 1,000 or so cousins. She knows 7th cousins 17 times removed. (Only a slight exaggeration)

Her mother had 17 siblings, her father 13 and all of them were prolific. I would not be surprised if she had 150 or so 1st cousins.

So when I say cousin, it does not necessarily mean a close relative.

HoaxPPT: "Republicans look at Wall Street like crack, until they put the country in the toilet and pull one of their patented 1929s and 2008s on us."

Hundreds of thousands of long term unemployed workers reentering the workforce, meanwhile, wages up across all quintiles with the largest wage gains for workers in the lowest 3 quintiles.

Average wage gain in just the first 2.5 years under Trump: $6,600
Average wage gains over 8 years of obumbler and the commies: $900

Consumer confidence soaring to record highs.

Record low unemployment across all demographic groups and geographic regions.

Hundreds of thousands of manufacturing jobs return which the HoaxPPT'ers told us would never come back are back.

Inflation, which all the moron HoaxPPT'ers told us would be thru the roof remains at a paltry 1.8%.

HoaxPPT and his "100% wrong on every economic factor across the board" idiot crew, hot off the collapse of their latest bungled hoax impeachment gambit, now have to look forward to convincing all those Americans on Main Street with jobs and higher wages that their reality isn't really reality after all!!

LOL

Maybe if HoaxPPT and his pals combine their latest economic "hot takes" with their previous lefty hot takes such as "light bulbs" cause people to poop on the sidewalk in San Francisco then maybe, maybe, the lefties can persuade everyone we have entered a new economic dark age!

I don't know. Maybe its just me, but I think that's going to be a tough sell!!

Hey, you know what might help? Lets get a Bain guy to jump into the dem primary race!

That should do it....

Same things as were said in 1928 and 2007, DUMMY. Point not made.

But some blonde toupee-wearer has made you her cheerleader while she lies about everything else and tries to revoke the independence of the federal reserve, so keep cheerleading. She needs it in between all the pardons she writes for all those "friends" of hers going to jail for her.

Strong economies don't need marketing chiefs and salespeople. No, the same people who brought America 1929 and 2008 are not needed today, either. And manufacturing jobs did not "return." They are concentrated in the microbrewery sector. Hard to tout your strength in the world economy when it's based off of making fellow Americans drunk. And are the rest concentrated in California, the state that Trump's trying to set on fire literally while nattering some weird crap about "raking forests?" And what happened to those auto plants in Ohio?

Does Trump get you to coif his toupee while you fellate him?

In any event, what great work you're doing convincing African Americans that they've not been this productive to their Wall Street owner/task-masters since slavery!

How are household savings with this great wage-slave economy of yours? Lots of people moving income brackets, right? What wonderful peanuts your reality tv star is throwing them.

I mean, a weaker man would have given in and stood up to Putin. But not our obambi!

Think of this obambi particular failure as one of several of his Ukrainian "Red Line" flops.

But, yes. The simplistic REPUBLICAN BAD, DEMOCRAT GOOD narrative is probably easier to digest than the reality of multiple causes across a variety of markets and institutions.
